“Wow, that's a big info dump,” John remarked in surprise after Sarah finished her explanation.

“Yeah, sorry about that,” Sarah said apologetically before adding. “But we're kind of on a timer, and I needed to explain all that to you immediately.”

John raised an eyebrow before saying, “Let me guess, this dungeon timer you were talking about?”

“Yeah,” Sarah nodded. “The person who found the dungeon was foolish and left the safe zone and started the timer. Thankfully, the content patch has paused the countdown, but apparently over half the time has already elapsed, leaving a little under twelve hours before the dungeon becomes public knowledge.”

“Why'd they take so long to ask you for help?” John asked with a sigh.

“No idea, I think they're too embarrassed to say,” Sarah replied.

John nodded and said, “I'm happy to help them. I just don't know when I'll be able to join them. Shortly before being logged out, I was transported to the Seven Circles Enclave to meet with Lord Ursa. While I have an idea why, I don't know what will happen.”

“That's fine, they're still looking for a healer for the group anyway,” Sarah replied, causing John to frown before thinking. {They seem to be under the impression that my class is purely tank-based; should I rectify that? Nah, I still don’t fully trust them enough to tell them everything, and it would be stupid to do before I know why Astraea sent me to Lord Ursa; who knows how things could change.}

“Understood,” John replied before Princess Shizu spoke up and said. “Thank you, John Michaels.”

“For what?” John asked. “I'm the one making something from this deal since it will let me level up quicker.”

“True,” Princess Shizu replied before adding. “But you haven't even asked me about my friend, which shows you have faith in my choice of friends.”

“Well, they can’t be much worse than my recent companions: a human whose loot I need to collect before passing it over to her and a kitsune who sounds almost as perverted as Elrinia,” John replied before adding. “Honestly, if I didn’t already know the identity of Adria’s character, I would have thought Dream Star was some spoiled princess.”

As he finished speaking, he heard strange noises coming from his access band's speaker; it almost sounded like people simultaneously laughing and choking.

“Err, is everything ok?” John asked in a concerned tone. “We’re fine; it’s just that Melissa and Princess Shizu had a small accident,” Sarah replied, though John could tell that her voice was filled with amusement for some reason.

“Well, as long as they're okay,” John said doubtfully before asking. “Is there anything else you need?”

“No, that about covers it. I'll let you go now, and thanks again,” Sarah replied before ending the call.

“Did he just call me a spoiled princess?” Melissa asked after finally overcoming her coughing fit.

“You're worried about that?” Shizu asked as she waved away the staff who had hurried over to check on them before adding in a whisper. “I'm an actual princess that just got labelled a pervert.”

“Well, in a way he's correct on both counts,” Adria replied as she and Sarah wore looks of amusement.

“You are way too perverted for a princess,” Sarah whispered while smirking at Shizu before adding. “You might be one of the Impossible princesses because of your unique condition, but you also have the title of the perverted fox princess.”

“Since your last visit to the capital three months ago,” Sarah said with a frown before adding, "I'm kind of surprised you don't know.”

“Well, the rumours did start after she left,” Adria noted before Melissa asked. “What rumours? I was on tour and haven't been back long.”

“Yes, I'd also like to hear these rumours and ask why you didn't bring them up with me?” Shizu said with a frown.

“We figured you already knew about them and just chose to ignore them since they were started by someone who's simply jealous of you,” Adria explained. “It was after you had a date with Jason Marks one day, only to be seen with my perverted brother the next. Honestly, why you'd even want to date him, I don't know.”

“You know very well that my… condition gives me a higher-than-normal sex drive,” Shizu replied with absolutely no shame before adding. “Though I will admit that it was a waste of time spending the night with either of them since they did nothing for me.”

“Eww, too much information,” Adria said in disgust. “I don't want to hear stuff about my brother's sex life.”

“Well, they might have done nothing for you, but Thomas is now infatuated with you,” Sarah remarked.

“I'm aware; I've received the love letters,” Shizu said with a sigh before adding. “But you're getting off topic; tell me about these rumours.”

“There's a woman named Amber Summer in Silver City who is actually in love with my brother, as crazy as that sounds,” Adria replied. “Anyway, she heard about how you went on dates with Jason Marks one day and then my brother the next and became jealous. Hence, she started this rumour that you're the perverted fox princess who will bed any man.”

“Well, not any man and not just men,” Shizu said with a flirtatious wink that caused the three women to sigh and Melissa to say. “Hence why John was right in calling you perverted. Can't really argue against it now, huh?”

“I suppose it doesn't matter as long as she doesn't fall for him,” Sarah said with a shrug.

“Why?” Shizu asked as she tilted her head.

“You heard what he said to Elrinia; he has no interest in women who sleep around,” Sarah explained, causing Melissa to smirk and say. “Guess that's the bot of you out of the picture then.”

“Excuse me?” Sarah replied. “I'll have you know I haven't been with anyone since I left that cheating bastard.”

“Ohh?” Adria asked with a smirk. “Did you just admit to liking John?”

“Whatever,” Sarah said with a slight blush that made the other women chuckle before she turned to Shizu and said. “The fact remains that John will most likely lose any interest in you once he realises how much you sleep around.”

Shizu's eyes widened in realisation as she thought, {Seriously? But he's the only man who's seriously piqued my interest in years; all the rest have just been to satisfy my cravings. I don't want him to think less of me.}

And as her thoughts reached this point, she heard a faint click as if something had been unlocked from deep within her.

Shizu's eyes widened in surprise before she suddenly closed them and looked within herself.

The other women shared looks of surprise upon seeing this but stayed quiet and just watched their friend.

As she looked within herself, Shizu found herself looking down upon a bundle of chains that were bound together with padlocks, surrounding a ghostly individual.

As she watched, she saw one of the padlocks, which had just been unlocked, disintegrate, while the chain it held soon followed. Soon after, the ghostly figure seemed to become more corporeal.

{He's already managed to release two of the padlocks? But how? And when did the first unlock?} Shizu thought in shock as she gazed down at the ghostly figure that appeared vaguely similar to the young man who had recently piqued her interest.

Kiyomi Spencer eagerly lined up in her school's gymnasium as she waited for their turn to go through the Genesis Initiation. She was the youngest in her year, and as was tradition, the entire school year had to wait until she turned eighteen. Thankfully, the content drop hadn’t delayed the year's initiation or, who knows how many, snide comments she would have had to endure.

Kiyomi had noticed a dramatic drop in the amount of bullying she received in school ever since the Dawnscape City event that caused the racial punishment. However, that still meant that she really only had two real friends, April and Josh; unfortunately, that made things awkward for her since she could tell that Josh fancied her while she had no feelings for him. Both April and Josh had already gone through their initiation and were two of the few students who were patiently waiting for the rest to finish.

Soon, the government official leading the initiation called her name, and Kiyomi excitedly approached while April and Josh waved at her. Only after listening to the official's instructions did Kiyomi climb into the pod, which plunged her into darkness after the lid closed, before small lights came on and provided some illumination.

Kiyomi waited a few moments with excitement before she felt her eyes grow heavy, and she drifted off into a sleep that the pod had induced.
