Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 4: Boundless GenesisThe healing area covered a 10-meter radius, though it would get bigger as he leveled up and expanded his territory.
He sat down near the summoning circle and let it work. His wounds didn’t vanish, but they closed a little more with every minute that passed.
It felt slow and steady, like the forest itself was stitching him back together.
While he waited, Logan checked his Tower Points. Two hundred, between the wolf and the rabbit before it. Enough for one more summon.
He opened the Summoning Circle again.
```
[ Summon: Combat Unit ]
Cost: 100 Tower Points
```
Light gathered above the circle, brighter this time, and folded down into something that wasn’t shaped like a person at all.
It landed with a soft clatter and rolled twice before settling in front of him.
It looked like a wagon wheel built by someone who loved knives a little too much. Its round body was dark iron, about the size of a large melon.
Six curved blades stuck out from the rim like spokes, each one gleaming and a little too sharp to look at comfortably.
At the center of the wheel sat a small fox-like face. Two triangular ears made from tiny blade shards sat above a pair of round eyes that blinked open one after another.
It gave Logan a look that somehow managed to be both cute and a little unsettling. Then it spun a slow, happy circle on the spot.
```
[ Wheel Sword Rumble (Tier-1/Rare) Summoned ]
Skills: Razor Spin, Wheel Dash, Serrated Rampage.
```
Logan stared at the panel. Rare-rank. His last summon had been Normal, plain and simple, and this one had come out two full steps above it on the first try.
He didn’t know the odds, but he was fairly sure that counted as good luck for level 1 summoning circle. Normal, Uncommon, and Rare was the limit, with Rare being rarest.
Summoning this cartoon unit left him a hundred Tower Points, enough to matter later, but not much use right now.
The Wheel Sword Spox rolled a little circle around his feet, blades humming softly as it spun. It made a sound somewhere between a bark and the whir of a spinning top.
Logan looked at it, then at the Sling Shooter standing nearby with his arms crossed.
’Alright, let’s do this.’
He opened the skill panel for Boundless Genesis.
```
[ Boundless Genesis ]
Effect 1: Merge
Select two units.
```
He hesitated for a second. The Sling Shooter had fought beside him twice, taken a hit without complaint, and joked with him like they’d known each other for years instead of hours.
But the panel didn’t say anything about losing him. It said evolved.
Logan chose the Sling Shooter first, then the Wheel Sword Spox.
Both units glowed at once, their outlines turning gold. Then they lifted off the ground and drifted toward each other, like something unseen was pulling them together.
Light wrapped around them both and folded inward, closing over whatever was happening inside it.
For a second, nothing.
Then the light cracked open, and something new stood where the two of them had been.
```
[ Merge Complete ]
> Sling Shooter (Tier-1/Normal) + Wheel Sword Spox (Tier-1/Rare)
> Razor Blade Ranger (Tier-1/Rare) Created.
```
The figure standing in front of Logan still had the Sling Shooter’s face, scar and all, and the same easy set to his shoulders.
But where his legs used to be, a ring of spinning blades now turned beneath him. They held him up and hummed low, like a spinning top that never wanted to stop.
His sling had changed too. It hung from one hand, longer than before, new mechanism, with small curved blades fitted into the pouch where stones used to sit.
The Razorspoke Ranger rolled forward a few feet, testing his new balance. Then he came to a smooth stop in front of Logan.
He looked down at himself, flexed the fingers of one hand, and grinned the same grin the Sling Shooter always used.
"Well," he said. "Feels like I got an upgrade, boss."
Logan looked at his status.
```
[Razor Blade Ranger]
```
"Rare-ranks have a base stat of 10. That checks out." Logan muttered and thought. ’And when I merge units, I can re-assign their stat points. That’s nice.’
"Alright, your name is Billy from now on."
"Billy? I like the sound of it." Billy grinned.
It was clear that Billy was a speed- and attack-oriented unit with both close-range and long-range specs, though he was more on the melee side.
Logan added five points in each of the four stats, and then the remaining five on Attack.
```
[Razor Blade Ranger]
’Great. I should be able to hunt more monsters at a faster pace now. And I won’t have to stay at the frontline anymore.’ Logan grinned.
What useless class? What no-talent?
He had Boundless Genesis! Something that can pave a path for him in this world of players!
[Main Quest: Protect your territory throughout the night from Undead rising in this forest.]
[Reward: 500 Tower Points]
The sky was already dimming when he was returning. In three hours, it would become completely dark.
"It looks like we’ll have to reinforce our territory and quickly get back to explore to discover some useful things." Logan frowned as he looked at the quest.
He had read the experiences of many players and beginner guides already.
To discover blueprints that would allow him to build other stuff in the building mode like the fence, he’d need to explore places and discover them as rewards.
His HP was about to fully recover, and his MP was already half-recovered after he used 500 for the merge.
"Alright, let’s go, Billy."
"As for you three, cut the surrounding woods and stones both. Once that’s done, dig a trench around the territory. It should be at least 6 feet deep."
Logan felt his stomach rumbling as he and Billy left the territory.
’We need to gather food as well.’
"Billy, let’s go back to the wolf we killed. Cut it up nicely with your fancy blades. We’ll cook and eat it later."
He suddenly saw a tree and his eyes lit up. "Cut that tree’s big leaves. They’ll be useful in storing the meat."
"Alrighty, boss."
And so, Logan began his next expedition into the forest.
