Hearing this, Iris’s eyes immediately lit up, she thought Adam was afraid, which was why he had agreed to fight her, she immediately assumed a combat stance, ready to launch an attack at any moment.
However, Adam didn’t immediately attack as she imagined, instead, he stood unmoving in his spot.
"What is the meaning of this?" Iris asked impatiently.
"I’m waiting for you to make the first move," Adam said calmly.
"If I strike first, you won’t even have a chance to attack, only if you move first will you have a possibility of touching me!"
Hearing this, Iris couldn’t help but freeze for a moment, arrogant, extremely arrogant!
"Fine, you asked for this!" Iris clenched her fist. Strands of lightning coiled around it, emitting crackling, explosive sounds.

Fifth Heaven of the Deity Realm! Hearing this, Iris and the other three couldn’t help but gasp collectively, they had never imagined this seemingly youthful boy had already reached such a towering cultivation realm.
Iris, at the Third Heaven of the Deity Realm, was already considered a top-tier existence among their batch of newcomers, she was even younger than the other three, yet Adam was already at the Fifth Heaven, no matter how one looked at it, no wonder the Book Saint had appointed him as their captain.

"I’ll introduce myself first, you can call me Derek, or you can call me Captain!" When he came over, Adam had already discussed this with the Book Saint, for safety’s sake, it was best to use a pseudonym and a changed appearance.
"My name is Iris, Third Heaven of the Deity Realm, comprehending the Dao Law of Lightning, proficient in related divine abilities!" Iris spoke up first, though her heart felt somewhat unreconciled, reality was right before her eyes.
"My name is Dean, First Heaven of the Deity Realm, comprehending the Earth-attribute Dao Law..." said a robust, burly young man whose resonant voice gave off a steady, reliable impression.
"My name is Felix, First Heaven of the Deity Realm, proficient in Water-attribute divine abilities..." said a lean-figured man with delicate features.
Once all five finished their introductions, Adam nodded, he gained a rough understanding of their strengths, however, a very important question remained, what were they supposed to do next? The Book Saint didn’t even mention that.
Looking at the four faces waiting for his orders, Adam’s mouth twitched. "Very well, we are a team now, I hope we can unite as one and face our upcoming challenges together, we need to align our understanding..."
Huh? What was the captain saying? Why did it sound hard to understand? What on earth did he mean by understanding?
"Ahem, alright, I’m done speaking, you guys can resume training!" Unable to keep up the charade, Adam turned around and walked straight outside.
After Adam left, the four looked at each other in blank dismay, evidently none of them had understood the strange words the captain just uttered.
Iris furrowed her brows tightly, pondering Adam’s words and attempting to glean some clues from them, after all, she possessed higher talent than the others, making her relatively more perceptive.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up as if she had thought of something. "understanding... could he mean we need to synchronize our steps and coordinate our actions?"
Hearing this, Dean, Felix, and the others wore expressions of sudden realization, although their strengths were formidable, they had focused more on elevating their personal cultivation, possessing relatively less experience in team combat.
Now, hearing Iris’s explanation, they instantly understood Adam’s intention.

Adam’s departure naturally stemmed from his knowledge that the Book Saint hadn’t assigned any specific tasks, which meant nothing was pressing for the moment, yet he couldn’t possibly just hang around and watch his teammates practice, he had much more important things to attend to.
Even though the Book Saint claimed that even he couldn’t break through the world barrier, Adam still wanted to give it a try, even if it failed, he had to figure out a way to contact Cecilia.
The pressure the Heavenly Court exerted upon him was simply too immense, he worried that Cecilia might be tracked down by them.
