Returning to the room arranged for him by the Book Saint, Adam pulled out various tools and began setting up a formation.
First, he established a concealment formation to ensure his actions wouldn’t be disturbed from the outside, while also shielding himself from the Heavenly Court’s detection.
Next, he began attempting to utilize the spirit stones and formation discs in his possession to construct a teleportation formation capable of piercing the world barrier.
However, the process proved exceptionally arduous, Adam continuously adjusted the structure and the combination of formation runes, yet every attempt ended in failure, whenever the formation activated, it felt as though it hit an invisible wall, completely unable to proceed.
True to the Book Saint’s words, the Heavenly Court had indeed reinforced this world’s barrier, relying solely on his formation’s power was no longer enough to break it open, he couldn’t even carve out a tiny fissure.

Knock, knock! A knock sounded at the door, Adam promptly tidied up the room, concluding his research for the day, walking over and pulling it open, he found Iris standing outside.
"Captain, Leader Book Saint has assigned us a mission!" Excitement coated Iris’s face, having stayed here for so long, she finally had a mission she could execute.
"Oh? What mission?"
"The Leader said that an extremely heinous emissary was dispatched from South City. We are ordered to intercept him and prevent him from harming the villagers!" Iris looked utterly thrilled, ever since being rescued and brought here, she had been itching to make herself useful, now that a chance for practical combat had arrived, she was naturally filled with anticipation.
"South City? An emissary?" Adam’s brows furrowed slightly, this meant going head-to-head with the Heavenly Court.
"Yes! The Leader said that emissary possesses terrifying strength and a cruel disposition, he has already slaughtered quite a few innocent villagers, we must act quickly!" Iris nodded earnestly.
Adam nodded, fully recognizing the weight of this mission, saving a life accrues more merit than building a seven-story pagoda.
"Alright, we depart immediately!" Adam swiftly summoned his squad members and briefly laid out the mission parameters, the five of them quickly geared up and rushed in the direction of South City.
East City, a remote little village.
Though traditionally poor, this place had always been peaceful and tranquil, right now, however, it was suffused with a grim, killing atmosphere.
The scent of blood permeated the air, dyeing the yellowish-brown earth a crimson red.
At the village entrance, a tall, gaunt man with a sinister visage stood waiting, cruel light flashed in his eyes as he gripped a blood-colored longsword, its blade still stained with wet, uncoagulated blood.
This man was the emissary sent from South City, Leroy, his mission was to slaughter this small village.
As for the reason, he didn’t know, nor did he want to know.
"Hahaha! Are these the so-called mortals? So pathetically weak!" Leroy laughed mockingly, his gaze swept across the village, eventually resting on a young woman.
The woman had a delicate and pretty face, but right now it was filled with terror, she tightly hugged the child in her arms, backing away helplessly.
He loved bullying the weak like this the most, seeing their helpless despair felt amazing.
"Don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you!" A young man covered in blood rushed forward, attempting to block his path.
However, the disparity in strength was too vast, in a single encounter, he was killed by Leroy’s sword.
"No!" The woman holding the child let out a scream of despair.
"Next!" Looking at the dead young man, Leroy playfully withdrew his longsword, he was in no rush to kill the mother and child, his gaze once again swept across the village.
"Is anyone else going to come out? I’m actually not a cruel person."
"As long as you come out to save her, and if you succeed, I will let you go."
"If no one comes out, then I’ll just have to kill them, remember, this mother and child are dying because you didn’t save them."
"And you are the true murderers who killed this mother and child!"
The longsword in Leroy’s hand was just about to slice across the mother and child’s necks.
Just at that moment, a fierce sword light flew over from the distance, aiming straight for the emissary’s vitals.
Leroy reacted extremely fast, with a flash of his figure, he dodged this fatal strike, he looked up and saw five figures rapidly approaching.
"Oh? Those little mice actually came to throw away their lives?" A cruel smile appeared on his face as his longsword swung once again.
However, these five were no ordinary villagers, they were Adam’s squad members, they coordinated perfectly, their offense and defense orderly, quickly forcing Leroy to retreat step by step.
"Interesting!" A hint of surprise flashed through Leroy’s eyes, he hadn’t expected them to cooperate so seamlessly.
A few people, the highest being only at the Third Heaven of the Deity Realm, were actually beating back a Fourth Heaven Deity like him.
"However, this ends here!" Leroy sneered, the divine power within his body surged madly, and his aura climbed to its absolute peak, his strength at the Fourth Heaven was fully displayed, the powerful pressure instantly overwhelmed the five of them.
"Not good, retreat!" Feeling the immense pressure, Iris’s expression changed, and she immediately ordered a retreat.
However, Leroy’s speed was faster, with a flash of sword light, a gash was sliced across one squad member’s chest.
"Ah!" The squad member cried out miserably and fell to the ground, their formation instantly collapsed, several members hurriedly supported their injured teammate.
"Damn it!" A flash of anger appeared in Iris’s eyes, is it still not enough?
"You guys retreat first, I’ll hold him off!" Iris took a deep breath, her figure instantly vanished from her spot, reappearing right in front of Leroy.
"Courting death!" Leroy sneered, his longsword swung, slashing a fierce sword light toward Iris.
A flash of determination appeared in Iris’s eyes, lightning surged in her hands as she met the attack head-on.
Boom! The two collided in mid-air, erupting with an earth-shattering boom, she only felt a massive force transmit from the opponent’s longsword, and her body was sent flying backward uncontrollably.
