At the same time, a formation disc in her bosom shattered.

"So strong!" Iris was shocked. Even the formation disc the captain had given her had shattered, she knew she was no match for the opponent, however, she didn’t want to give up, she swung her fists and charged toward Leroy again.

"Ignorant!" Leroy sneered, his longsword swung once more, sending an even fiercer sword light slashing toward Iris.

A flash of resolve appeared in Iris’s eyes, she knew this mission could no longer be accomplished, however, just as she was preparing to die a hero’s death, an even more powerful sword light suddenly flew in from the side, directly crushing Leroy’s attack.

Leroy’s expression changed, he looked up and saw a figure flying in from the distance, holding a sword that radiated intense light.

"Who are you?" Leroy frowned.

"Heaven-Slaying Society!" The newcomer spat out coldly, the sword in his hand swung again, sending an even more formidable sword light slashing toward Leroy.

"Ridiculous, I’d like to see..." Leroy didn’t get to finish, a bloody line appeared on his neck, and then his head fell to the ground.

His eyes were wide open, only now did he realize that the very first sword qi could absolutely not have been unleashed by those guys, there was an expert, he should have run.

Iris opened her mouth wide in utter shock, Adam’s strength was actually this terrifying, one sword light instantly killed a Fourth Heaven Deity Realm emissary, making him die with remaining grievances, this was simply like a dream.

The others also looked at Adam in extreme shock, they knew the Fifth Heaven of the Deity Realm was strong, but knowing it and seeing it with their own eyes were two completely different things, the visual impact was just too stunning.

"Thank you, Captain, for saving us!" Iris and the others snapped back to reality and immediately stepped forward to thank him.

"Don’t mention it, I just conveniently took out some trash, remember not to give up your lives so easily next time, it’s disrespectful to yourself and others, it doesn’t make you a hero, only by staying alive do you have anything!" Adam said calmly.

Iris turned slightly, she had indeed just thought about dying heroically in battle so she could be a hero.

"I understand, Captain!"

Adam’s gaze swept across the village with a deep frown, eventually resting on the mother and child.

"Are you alright?" Adam walked up and asked with concern.

"We’re fine, thank you, Senior, for saving us!" The woman said gratefully, the child in her arms looked up and said in a tender voice, "Thank you, big brother!"

"Leave this place for now, it’s no longer safe here, someone will come shortly to take you somewhere safe." Adam nodded. He turned to look at Iris and the others.

"I just searched the surroundings, this guy has no accomplices, let’s head back and report!"

"Yes, Captain!" Iris and the rest replied in unison, their mission had been accomplished very easily this time, even though the enemy was killed by a single sword strike from their captain, with his help, they had actually exchanged blows with a Fourth Heaven expert using their First Heaven strength, they could brag about this for a year when they got back.

Adam led the five out of the small village, peak of the Mortal Supreme Realm members from the society would escort those villagers to a safe location.

However, what deeply puzzled Adam was this, wasn’t the Heavenly Court trying to cultivate the production of Source? Would they really allow villagers to be slaughtered like this? Even if this person possessed a bloodthirsty nature, Adam still felt something was fishy, he would have to ask the Book Saint about it when he got back.

On the journey back, Adam kept his brows tightly furrowed, he repeatedly mulled over the various details of this mission, trying to pinpoint what felt wrong, could it be that the Heaven and Earth Upheaval is ending early? Is the Heavenly Court preparing to start their harvest right now? Was that man just testing the waters? Otherwise, why would someone brazenly slaughter villagers and ruin the Heavenly Court’s plans?

Adam pondered this as he flew at top speed.

Swish! Suddenly, an arrow shot straight toward his forehead.

With a grand wave of his hand, Adam swatted the arrow away.

"Who is it?" He halted, vigilantly scanning his surroundings.

Iris and the others immediately went on high alert, the surroundings were dead silent, save for the rustling of leaves swaying in the wind. Adam’s brows locked tight, he could sense a looming crisis closing in.

Suddenly.

Swish! Another arrow shot toward Adam.

"Can we drop these petty tricks? They’re useless, since you dare to attack, why don’t you show your face?" Adam casually deflected the arrow and shouted with a frown.

To his surprise, he hadn’t sensed the opponent’s position, the attacker was either a supreme expert or possessed a heavy treasure, judging by the strength of the arrows, it was probably the latter.

The attacker gave no response.

"Do you really think I have no way of finding you?" Adam’s pupils constricted, starting with a crisp chime deep within his soul, invisible ripples radiated outward with him at the center, blanketing the entire forest.

"Found you!" Adam twirled the spirit sword in his hand and slashed toward a specific direction.

"Sword Opens the Heavenly Gate!" The terrifying sword qi moved with extreme speed.

"No!" A panicked scream rang out as a figure stumbled out of the thicket in a sorry state, he held a longbow in his hand, but at this moment, it was far too late to block Adam’s attack.

The sword qi flashed like a rainbow, instantly sending the figure flying, blood sprayed out, dyeing the surrounding trees and grass red.

"Captain, this..." Iris and the others vigilantly scanned the surroundings, terrified there might be another ambush.

"It’s fine, it’s been handled, go see if he’s dead." Adam put away his spirit sword and said calmly.

"Yes, sir!" Iris immediately flew over, she had been worried the enemy might launch a dying counterattack, but when she saw the black blood at the corners of the dark figure’s mouth, she knew the attacker had already bitten a poison capsule and died.

"Captain, he bit poison!" she shouted.
