"Senior, please continue," Adam said calmly.
The voice fell silent for a long while, seemingly pondering something, then it spoke again. "Very well, since you have passed the first trial, what comes next is the second trial, are you prepared?"
"Please enlighten us, Senior!" Adam and Cecilia replied together, voices brimming with confidence.
Brilliant light suddenly flashed within the great hall, and the two vanished from where they stood.
When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves inside a colossal labyrinth, towering stone walls surrounded them on all sides, intricately carved with mysterious runes and archaic patterns.
A primal, enigmatic aura permeated the air, causing an involuntary palpitation in their hearts.
"This is the arena for the second trial, the Labyrinth Illusion," the voice echoed in their ears.
"You must find the exit within this labyrinth to pass, however, this labyrinth is not simple, it will constantly shift and change, and there are hidden dangers within, good luck!"
Adam and Cecilia exchanged a glance and began walking deeper into the labyrinth.
They carefully observed their surroundings, searching for clues, Adam noticed the runes on the walls seemed to shift continuously, leading him to guess they were directly linked to the labyrinth’s structural changes.
Meanwhile, Cecilia noticed the air currents flowing abnormally, the aura in certain areas felt noticeably denser.
Moreover, thick fog slowly began rolling in, starting to completely obscure their line of sight, this made the already complex labyrinth appear even more difficult.
Suddenly, from within the fog, a bolt of purple lightning shot toward them with astonishing power.
Adam and Cecilia hastily dodged.
"Young Master, this purple lightning seems even more powerful than the one at the main door!" Cecilia was shocked, she was struggling immensely to dodge, without the Young Master helping her, she would not have been able to avoid it at all.
"It’s fine, hide behind me!" Adam frowned, his hands rapidly formed seals, and in an instant, a golden cage enveloped them both.
Another bolt of terrifying purple lightning shot out, but it struck the cage without any effect.
"That strange cage again!" Outside the labyrinth, a dark shadow spoke with astonishment, having lived for countless years, this was its first time seeing such a thing.
"Young Master, can you use a divine ability to see through this fog?" Cecilia asked with concern.
Although they were safe for now, they could not waste time in this labyrinth forever, furthermore, the purple lightning attacks were becoming more frequent, at first just one or two bolts, but now five or six were shooting out at once, and looking at the situation, it seemed to still be increasing, was this a time limit for the trial?
"I can’t!" Adam shook his head, he had tried eye techniques to no avail, he still could not see through this fog.
But this did not mean he was out of options, Adam looked at the runes on the walls, for a labyrinth to have such changes, it was absolutely not naturally occurring, it had to be man-made, carved with formations.
In that case, there was no need to search for the exit, he just needed to break the labyrinth open directly, he could not be more familiar with array formations.
A bright glint flashed in his eyes, the Omniscience of All Objects activated simultaneously.
In an instant, this labyrinth became like a dismantled toy before him.
"Cecilia, follow me closely, we’re going to break the formation directly!" Adam’s footsteps were firm, every step landing precisely on the formation’s nodes, with his steps, the entire labyrinth began to shake, as if some power was resisting him.
But Adam remained unmoved, in his eyes, there were only glowing runes and lines, Cecilia followed closely behind, her heartbeat quickened, but she knew that believing in the Young Master meant they would overcome this hurdle.
Suddenly, the entire labyrinth began trembling violently, as if about to collapse.
The purple lightning attacks grew even more ferocious, but every bolt was blocked by the golden cage.
"Young Master, watch out!" Cecilia exclaimed, a bolt of golden lightning suddenly shot down from above, aiming straight for Adam’s vitals.
Its power far exceeded the purple lightning, if the previous purple lightning had the power of a Ninth Heaven Deity strike, then this golden lightning was already at the Saint Realm level, and it contained another kind of power as well.
But Adam seemed to have expected this, his figure flashed as he summoned the Yellow Emperor’s Sword and stabbed it into the top of the golden cage, a lightning rod.
The golden lightning was instantly redirected, while the other mysterious power was withstood by the Yellow Emperor’s Sword.
"The Yellow Emperor’s Sword!" Outside the labyrinth, that voice rang out in surprise again, this young man had given him far too many pleasant surprises, and this bizarre method of breaking moves was something he had never seen before.
Having dodged this attack, Adam completed his hand seals, and powerful force erupted from his hands.
"Break!" With a loud shout, the entire labyrinth seemed torn apart by invisible force, the towering stone walls, mysterious runes, and patterns all vanished without a trace.
When they opened their eyes, they had returned to the great hall, the voice rang out again, filled with shock and disbelief. "You... you actually broke my Labyrinth Illusion! How is this possible!"
"And you directly destroyed my labyrinth too?"
"Senior, you never said this wasn’t allowed, we made it out, so you can’t go back on your word!" Adam smiled faintly, although the Labyrinth Illusion was miraculous, in his eyes it was nothing more than a minor formation.
"Senior, we have passed the second trial, may I ask if there is a third?" Adam asked calmly.
The voice fell silent before sounding again. "Of course, the final one, if you can break through it, you may take the Imperial Artifact!"
As the voice faded, light in the great hall flickered again, when it dissipated, Adam and Cecilia found themselves in a spacious cavern, at the far end, a massive stone door stood silently, complex runes and patterns were carved into it, giving it a mysterious and ancient feel.
Adam narrowed his eyes, starting from the main door earlier, they all shared these complex runes and patterns, obviously the work of the same person.
"This next trial is very simple, shortly, ten identical herbs will appear before you, you must use smell and taste to identify the single genuine one among them, while the other nine are highly lethal poisons, good luck!"
