Chapter 416: The Proprietor’s Cold Sweat

The Proprietor’s Cold Sweat

At this moment, Cavir Walton hurriedly ran in.

His footsteps came rapidly from the corridor.

The moment he entered the room and saw Leon standing, Cavir Walton’s entire body went cold.

His grey hair was slightly disheveled from rushing over, and sweat had already gathered along his forehead. His black eyes darted from Leon to Lord James.

Oh god...

Cavir Walton almost felt his soul leave his body.

Are you trying to scare me to death?

I just left, and you’re already here.

He had barely managed to walk away from the private room after making all the arrangements for the auction. He had thought everything would proceed smoothly.

Instead, before he could even take a proper breath, trouble had already arrived.

Don’t you know that I’m very fragile inside?

I can’t stand this kind of stimulation.

His heart hammered against his ribs.

Fortunately, he came in time.

If he was a step late, this Lord James would probably die here today.

And if Lord James died inside the Whitelist Restaurant’s auction house...

Cavir Walton didn’t even dare imagine the consequences.

He hurried forward.

"Respected One, I’m sorry. I made inappropriate arrangements and allowed someone to spoil your mood. Respected One, please calm down. I’ll settle it, I’ll settle it..."

His voice was hurried.

There was no trace of the usual composure expected from the proprietor of such a prestigious establishment.

Cavir Walton quickly approached Leon and bowed deeply.

Cold sweat had already soaked the back of his clothes.

He almost died before he could catch his breath.

The moment he saw Leon stand up, every rumor he had ever heard about him flashed through his mind.

Those rumors were not ordinary rumors.

Every single one involved Leon beating up some enormous figure.

There had been stories of powerful cultivators being humiliated in front of everyone.

There had been stories of arrogant experts being crushed without Leon even bothering to explain himself.

And there was one rumor that terrified Cavir Walton more than all the others.

Leon had destroyed the Sky Breaker Academy.

Just like that.

A force that ordinary cultivators could only look up to had been reduced to ruins.

If a person like that became angry inside the Whitelist Restaurant...

Cavir Walton’s throat went dry.

He could already imagine the consequences.

If Leon destroyed the Whitelist Restaurant, who would compensate him?

Who would even dare to ask?

At the thought of this, Cavir Walton’s heart ached.

He wished he could grab Lord James by the collar and throw him straight out of the building himself.

Why did you have to find this great god?

There were so many private rooms in the auction house.

So many places to go.

Why this one?

Why Leon?

Cavir Walton could only force himself to remain calm.

He stepped slightly between the two sides, though he did not dare to actually stand in Leon’s way.

He knew better than to obstruct a person like Leon.

The best he could do was lower his attitude as much as possible and pray that the matter could be settled peacefully.

Lord James watched this scene with growing confusion.

He had expected the steward to be nervous when he arrived.

He had expected some resistance.

But this?

The proprietor of the Whitelist Restaurant was practically apologizing on behalf of the entire establishment.

And the man he was apologizing to was standing there silently.

Just the fact that someone had entered without permission and expected him to move.

Lord James narrowed his eyes.

His previous assessment of Leon suddenly became less certain.

If this were merely a spoiled young master from an ordinary household, why would the proprietor of the Whitelist Restaurant behave like this?

Could this young man really possess a frightening background?

For the first time, a trace of caution appeared in Lord James’s eyes.

But his pride still prevented him from backing down.

He was a prince of the Drake Empire.

He could not simply retreat because a merchant became nervous.

Leon looked at Cavir Walton.

The man’s forehead was covered in sweat.

Leon could practically see the fear in his eyes.

He understood.

Cavir Walton wasn’t protecting Lord James.

He was protecting his own business.

Leon found the situation somewhat amusing.

He had no intention of causing trouble simply for the sake of causing trouble.

The prince had barged into his private room.

That was the problem.

Not the title.

Not the royal family.

Not the Drake Empire.

Just the fact that someone had entered without permission and expected him to move.

Leon waved his hand.

He gave Cavir Walton a simple gesture, telling him to step aside.

Cavir Walton immediately understood.

He swallowed hard and moved away.

He did not dare say another word.

The room became quiet again.

Leon looked directly at Lord James.

His purple eyes were calm.

There was no anger in them.

That calmness somehow made Lord James even more uncomfortable.

Lord James seriously sized up Leon.

He examined his clothes.

His posture.

His expression.

His cultivation aura.

His manner.

Little by little, Lord James tried to determine Leon’s identity.

He must be a young master from a certain household.

That much seemed obvious.

Perhaps he had some background, but probably not enough to threaten the Drake Empire.

Otherwise, why would he behave so arrogantly?

Lord James’s thoughts began to settle.

If this were merely a spoiled young master from an ordinary household, why would the proprietor of the Whitelist Restaurant behave like this?
