Li Wei gazed at the scene below, completely baffled.

The Valkyrie Squad clearly had the upper hand, so why would they fire a distress flare?

Just as Li Wei was pondering this...

...the Valkyries fighting the enemy on the ground suddenly collapsed.

Li Wei was stunned for a moment. ’Have they been poisoned?’

He saw someone raise a weapon, about to cut off the head of a collapsed Valkyrie.

Li Wei quickly descended to stop them, casting his Magic.

Ice Storm!

A vortex of ice and snow appeared above the battlefield. It spun rapidly, shooting out countless Ice Cones as thick as a finger.

The Ice Storm’s range of attack covered the entire field.

Under Li Wei’s precise control, not a single Ice Cone hit an ally.

THWAP! THWAP! THWAP!

The Ice Cones pierced through animal hides, staining them red with blood.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The enemies hurriedly swung their weapons to block the omnipresent Ice Cones.

However, Li Wei couldn’t control the ones that ricocheted and accidentally wounded the Valkyries.

Twenty to thirty enemies were suppressed by Li Wei’s single Ice Storm, unable to harm the unconscious Valkyries any further.

Li Wei landed, preparing to grab an enemy leader and ask what was going on.

Suddenly, a shiver ran down his spine, making the hairs on his neck stand on end.

Almost instantly, Li Wei’s Spiritual Perception spread out in the direction of the danger.

A silent arrow appeared within his Spiritual Perception, moving at extreme speed.

It wasn’t silent—the arrow had long since broken the sound barrier.

In his perception, the arrowhead was inscribed with a top-tier Demon-Breaking Rune.

It could easily pierce the Magic Shield of a Tier Six Great Mage.

This was a trap specifically targeting Gu Sewei.

Li Wei understood in an instant.

If he hadn’t come, then Gu Sewei would have certainly been the one to arrive after seeing the distress flare.

Faced with an arrow inscribed with a top-tier Demon-Breaking Rune, Gu Sewei might not have been able to react in time to dodge.

The only outcome of taking it head-on would be getting pierced by the Anti-Magic Arrow.

A Mage’s body is already more Fragile than that of other Professionals of the same Level. Getting hit by a supersonic arrow would likely mean instant death.

Li Wei suspected the arrow not only had a Demon-Breaking effect; he wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was also coated in a deadly poison.

The Anti-Magic Arrow posed a threat to Li Wei as well.

That was why it had triggered his hair-raising Danger Perception.

This was an ability that naturally developed with powerful Spiritual Power.

However, the moment Li Wei’s Spiritual Perception detected the Anti-Magic Arrow, its surprise effect was rendered useless.

WHOOSH!

The Anti-Magic Arrow struck Li Wei in mid-air.

Li Wei plunged into the snow, his figure buried by the drifts.

Seeing the Anti-Magic Arrow hit its target, the attacker revealed a triumphant smirk and rushed toward the battlefield.

The Ice Storm in the sky was dissipating... The enemies who could still move approached the spot where Li Wei had fallen, searching for his body.

"Have you found him?"

"Boss, over here."

An enemy pointed to a crater in the snow not far away and shouted.

"Excellent. Bring the body over. After getting hit by the Anti-Magic Arrow, he’s definitely dead."

The boss said, full of confidence.

At the boss’s command, an underling walked toward the body.

As he got closer and saw Li Wei lying in the snow, the underling froze for a moment.

There were no signs of injury on Li Wei’s body.

Li Wei blinked at him, and only then did the underling realize he wasn’t dead.

PFFT!

With a flick of his finger, Li Wei shot the Anti-Magic Arrow in his hand, piercing the enemy’s chest.

The enemy was instantly killed by the potent poison on the Anti-Magic Arrow and collapsed to the ground.

Li Wei had never been hit in the first place.

He had caught the Anti-Magic Arrow with his bare hands and pretended to be shot down, luring the attacker closer.

Li Wei wanted to capture the attacker himself and find out why he was trying to ambush Gu Sewei.

This concerned Gu Sewei’s safety; he had to get to the bottom of it.

Now, the attacker had walked right into the range of his Spiritual Perception. He was a fish in a barrel.

It was time to spring the trap.

The boss saw his underling fall in the snow and thought he’d just lost his footing. He stood a short distance away and shouted impatiently.

"Hurry up and drag him over here! You can’t even walk straight. What the hell good are you..."

Suddenly, the boss noticed a flash of firelight before his eyes.

The next second, he felt his entire body become unbearably hot.

Despite being in the middle of an Ice and Snow Land, he felt as if he were being roasted over a blazing fire.

His body was scalding hot, and his strength was rapidly draining away.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

All the enemies collapsed.

Their bodies were drenched in sweat, looking overheated and dehydrated.

Li Wei stood up and walked toward the attacker.

The attacker had already collapsed within the Flame Domain, unable to move.

This was the Power unleashed by the combination of High Level Flame Rules and the High Level Flame Domain.

Within the range of the Flame Domain, all enemies’ body temperatures instantly spiked, causing severe dehydration and collapse.

The boss barely managed to lift his head. He saw a pair of shoes walk past him, and then he lost consciousness, passing out completely.

Li Wei walked up to the attacker, who, despite the assault, had retained some sliver of consciousness.

Seeing the man’s face, Li Wei showed a look of surprise. "Ah Di?"

When Li Wei had first arrived in the Extreme North Icefield, he thought it was an uninhabited wasteland. It was only after meeting a few Hunters that he learned of the existence of Ice and Snow City.

Ah Di had been the Divine Shooter in that group of Hunters, possessing an incredibly long range.

Ah Di was also stunned. He didn’t understand why it was Li Wei.

According to the original plan, he should have shot the Saintess.

His greater question was, how had Li Wei survived?

He was sure he had hit his target.

Li Wei sensed Ah Di’s power Level and looked puzzled.

A month ago, Ah Di was only a Tier Two Divine Shooter.

Now, he was a Tier Four Divine Shooter.

Li Wei frowned. Sensing him carefully for a moment, he detected an unusual aura on Ah Di.

"This aura... the Power of the Demon God?"

"No, it’s far weaker than the Power of the Demon God. Did you accept the Demon God’s Power?"

Ah Di lowered his head and said nothing.

Li Wei shook his head. "Forget it. It doesn’t matter where you got this Power from."

"I just want to know one thing: why did you set a trap to ambush Gu Sewei?"

Ah Di gave Li Wei a blank look.

Li Wei quickly realized that for most people in Ice and Snow City, the Saintess’s name was unknown.

Ah Di was clearly one of those people.

Seeing his reaction, Li Wei knew he couldn’t be the mastermind.

A mastermind couldn’t possibly be unaware that Gu Sewei was the Saintess.

Li Wei asked directly, "Where are your accomplices?"

Ah Di seemed to snap out of it. He pressed his hands into the snow, kneeling as he cried out hoarsely, "Don’t kill me! Don’t blame me! They forced me... If I don’t do what they say, they’ll kill my family..."

Li Wei’s gaze hardened. "Tell me who’s threatening you," he said calmly, "and I’ll help you rescue your family."

Ah Di abruptly looked up at Li Wei, snow clinging to his face, making him look utterly wretched.

"Really... It was the Commander..."

Ah Di said, trembling.

Hearing this, Li Wei frowned.

"The Commander? You mean the Commander of the Valkyries?"

Ah Di nodded quickly. "Yes. That Commander granted me immense Power and this weapon and told me to wait here for the target."

His face twitched as he spoke. "The Commander told me that the target was a Mage with ice-blue wings on her back, and that I was to kill her."

Li Wei was momentarily speechless, then felt a sense of relief.

It was a good thing Ah Di had mistaken him for Gu Sewei.

Otherwise, if Ah Di had seen that the person who arrived wasn’t the Saintess and had aborted the attack, who knows how long it would have taken to root out this threat.

"Monice?"

Li Wei turned his head to look at the Valkyries lying on the ground behind him.

His Spiritual Perception swept over the group; indeed, Monice was nowhere to be found.

Why would Monice want to kill Gu Sewei?

Li Wei glanced at Ah Di again, an even greater question forming in his mind.

’What is the relationship between Monice and the Demon God?’

Li Wei cast a spell, and a giant Mage’s Hand grabbed Ah Di, carrying him over to the unconscious Valkyries.

He briefly checked the Valkyries’ condition and found that they had likely been poisoned, which was why they had suddenly fainted during the battle.

Luckily, the poison wasn’t fatal; it seemed to only have a sedative effect.

The person who administered the poison most likely wanted the Valkyries to collapse while fighting the enemy, ensuring they would be killed.

They hadn’t used a more easily detectable fast-acting poison for this reason.

Li Wei raised a hand, conjuring a blizzard to scoop everyone into his Magic Cottage, then headed back to Ice and Snow City with them.

After losing the Goddess’s Tears, he no longer had a way to remove abnormal status effects.

He hadn’t mastered any relevant spells either.

The vast majority of the Ice Magic spells Gu Sewei had mastered were Attack Magic. She knew very few Support Magic spells, and certainly none that could counteract unconsciousness.

So, Li Wei decided to just take everyone back.

Upon returning to Ice and Snow City, Li Wei went straight back to the Ice Jade Palace on the snowy peak.

"Li Wei, you’re back! What happened?"

Gu Sewei ran out to ask as she saw Li Wei land.

Li Wei first found a spot to let everyone out.

He dumped the enemies in one pile and placed the Valkyries to the side.

Gu Sewei was shocked and bewildered to see Li Wei bring back so many people, and her expression grew worried when she saw the unconscious Valkyries.

Li Wei said, "Don’t worry, they’re just unconscious. Their lives aren’t in danger."

Gu Sewei nodded and summoned the Ice and Snow Guardians to take the enemies away and imprison them.

She called for female attendants to take the unconscious Valkyries for treatment.

After taking care of all this, Gu Sewei once again asked Li Wei what had happened.

Li Wei didn’t answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Have you seen Monice?"

Gu Sewei replied, "I sent her to lead a team to suppress the Rebel Army."

Li Wei said, "Those people *are* the Rebel Army."

"Huh?" Gu Sewei looked astonished.

"Really? But they don’t look strong at all. That’s completely different from what Monice said," Gu Sewei said, confused.

Li Wei looked at her and asked, "What did she tell you?"

Gu Sewei said, "Monice told me the Rebel Army has many members and is very powerful, and that the Valkyrie Squads sent out to eliminate them have been defeated several times."

"Did you see it with your own eyes?" Li Wei asked.

Gu Sewei shook her head. "No, I didn’t."

A glint flashed in Li Wei’s eyes, and the corner of his mouth curled into a slight smile.

"In that case, summon Monice. Let’s have a face-to-face confrontation and see who the real rebels are."
