Harry Returning from Hogwarts Legacy

Chapter 923: Chapter 373: Another Effect of the Curse (2)

"Professor Bin won’t get angry, he’s a ghost now, even if he got angry, he wouldn’t be able to harm you in any way," Ron said with a chuckle from the side, "Unless he could pull your soul out and pin you down for a boxing match, which is obviously impossible."

"Why do people need to study History of Magic?" Neville concluded, "I really think this exam is unnecessary, even if we don’t know what happened before, we’re still doing fine, aren’t we?"

"Not exactly, Neville," Hermione said: "Every subject exists for a reason, and the significance of History of Magic is to help us understand who we are, and the complex causal relationships and inherent necessities between events. Understanding history means uncovering the causal relationships and historical inevitabilities present in historical processes."

"I feel even more confused after your explanation," Neville said, raising his hand.

Everyone around burst into laughter, even Hermione couldn’t help but laugh.

On the same day that Harry returned to Hogwarts, the Prophet Daily published another explosive piece of news.

You-Know-Who has returned. The Minister of Magic, Sirius Black, confirmed in a brief statement on Friday evening that You-Know-Who has returned to this country and begun activities once again.

"I regretfully announce that the wizard who styles himself as the Dark Demon King—oh, we all know who I’m talking about—is alive and, once again, active among us," Sirius said to reporters, showing not a trace of panic but an extraordinary calm, "It is equally regrettable that the Death Eaters who escaped from Azkaban seem to have found their master again, clearly due to the negligence of the previous Ministry of Magic. If Fudge had stepped up to rally everyone to thwart Voldemort’s schemes, perhaps we wouldn’t be so tense today."

At the mention of the word "Voldemort," the surrounding reporters audibly sucked in a breath of air.

However, the Minister’s calm demeanor reassured them.

"We strongly urge the Magic World citizens to remain vigilant. The Ministry of Magic has published the ’Family and Personal Preliminary Defense Guide’, which will be distributed for free to all wizard families within the next week. This action is necessary."

But one thing is certain: You-Know-Who, leading a group of followers (we all know it refers to the Death Eaters), has already returned to everyone’s view.

Additionally, according to Hogwarts’ headmaster, President of the International Wizarding Union, and Chief Wizard of the Wizengamot, Mr. Dumbledore, the Boy-Who-Lived, Harry Potter, has repeatedly defeated the Dark Demon King during his time at Hogwarts.

He mentioned a prophecy about the Boy-Who-Lived, and this prophecy has apparently been verified—the Boy-Who-Lived is indeed the nemesis of the Black Demon.

We should at least believe that Hogwarts is absolutely safe, at least the Black Demon won’t dare to enter Hogwarts and face off against the Boy-Who-Lived and Mr. Dumbledore himself.

"You-Know-Who isn’t stupid," Ron said with a grin, "It’s one thing to fight Harry alone, but to go into Hogwarts and face Harry plus Dumbledore? I have no doubt Dumbledore could crush him without Harry even lifting a finger."

"It seems like the Ministry of Magic is taking action now," Neville muttered.

They were in the Gryffindor common room, Hermione reading the Prophet Daily to her classmates.

"Trust Sirius," Ron shrugged, "After all, he is Harry’s godfather, right? I think—hmm... what’s this?"

He grabbed a handful of Chocolate Frogs from a pile on the cabinet and tossed a few to Harry, Ginny, and a few to Neville, tearing off the wrapper of his own without even looking at the card, gulping it down whole.

The Chocolate Frog didn’t even have a chance to jump, its legs feebly kicking by Ron’s mouth, looking quite pitiful.

"Honestly," Ron continued, "But I bet Harry will be on a Chocolate Frog card soon enough, trust me—by then, Harry’s children will see classmates in the train compartments celebrating drawing another ’Harry Potter,’ and Harry’s son will grumble, ’What’s so special, I’ve got the real one at home.’

Everyone burst into laughter at Ron’s words.

Nobody felt anxious about the Prophet Daily’s news—after all, although Voldemort has returned, nobody knows their whereabouts.

And with Harry repeatedly thwarting Voldemort’s plans, what is there to fear with such a person by your side?

"You can see it," Seamus said from his seat, "Even the Prophet Daily is speaking favorably of Harry..."

"Not really, Seamus," Hermione said with a chuckle, "Coming from a mixed blood family, you should know the Prophet Daily for its fickleness, always siding with whoever wins."

There’s really no arguing with that.

The classmates soon dispersed, as the day was getting late, and they should hurry to bed.

After the exams, the students’ lives shifted from tense to extremely relaxed all of a sudden.

The whole fifth year, they never really relaxed, so now enjoying the rare tranquility felt a bit unusual.

Even being idle feels guilty.

Thankfully, after a few days of adjustment, most have returned to normal, busying themselves with whatever they need to do, with some even staying indoors to sleep.

This has led to an unusually quiet castle, even on a Sunday.

It seems most have gone outside to bask in the sunny fields, relishing in the post-exam lull and the remaining days of the term without classes or homework.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Annie slowly walked through the empty corridor, gazing out the windows; they could see groups floating above the Quidditch pitch, and two students swimming with a giant squid in the lake.

"We’ll be in sixth year when school starts," Hermione said, stretching her arms, "Oh my, it all feels just like yesterday, the admission, the sorting, just like it was yesterday..."

"Time flies, doesn’t it?" Ron laughed, "I still remember that afternoon when you opened the door of our compartment, I thought, how could there be such an arrogant little girl?"

"Hah." Hermione rolled her eyes at Ron, stomping hard on his foot.

- Serves you right for talking nonsense!

"Time does fly," Annie said, leaning against the wall and looking up at Harry, "I still remember what the Sorting Hat told me the first time—never thought I’d become best friends with a Gryffindor."

"Annie, I heard back in your days, the four houses were very united, right?" Hermione curiously asked, "Even more so than the four houses now?"

"Yes," Annie smiled, "It’s all thanks to one person—that was the headmaster at the time, Mr. Phineas Black."

"He must have been a good person," Hermione said dreamily, "To have united the four houses together."
