Herogasm: My SSS-Ranked Maids Can Do Everything!
Chapter 35: [35] Taking Trash Off The Streets--Chapter 35--
Title:Taking Trash Off The Streets
Takeshi had barely finished adjusting the new coat when a voice came from ahead.
"Well, if it isn’t the Tower’s special boy."
Two men stood near the entrance of a side street.
The taller one had his arms folded across his chest, while the other stood slightly behind him with a smug expression already forming.
Takeshi looked at them. He didn’t recognize either of them. He glanced helplessly at Lana, hoping she had a clue.
It was only after the Vampire queen shrugged that he looked back at the two men.
His lips parted softly. "Do I know you?"
The taller man’s expression immediately darkened. "You don’t know us?"
Takeshi shook his head. Not willing to waste words if he didn’t need to. Because, why would he waste words on people he’d never met? Who seemed like the typical clichè.
The taller man’s pride seemed to take a direct hit from his silence.
He stepped forward, planting his foot as authoritative as he could. "Then remember the name. Brenn Cald."
He gestured toward the man standing beside him. "And this is Orrick Venn."
Orrick gave Takeshi a sharp look before straightening his shoulders.
"We’re members of the Searing Fangs Guild."
Takeshi waited for a moment, his hands on his chin, seemingly in deep thought.
Then he looked up and simply said, "Never heard of you."
The words came out so casually that even Lana couldn’t help herself. A quiet chuckle escaped her lips.
Takeshi raised an eyebrow at her. And Lana immediately composed herself, though the faint amusement remained in her crimson eyes.
Brenn’s face tightened. "You’re only an E-rank Hero. You know that, right?"
Takeshi raised a brow. "And?"
"You’ve barely been in the capital for three days, yet you’re already walking around like you’ve accomplished something with that useless Rank."
"I have a record, I didn’t find yours there." Takeshi shrugged. That was matter-of-fact.
Brenn scoffed, his hand gesturing dismissively. "Yeah... while hiding under the skirt of an A-rank summon."
Takeshi’s expression remained unchanged. How many times now had he heard that exact same line.
"So that’s what this is about?"
"What else would it be?" The mouthy Brenn stepped closer. "You got lucky you have a beautiful woman fighting your battle."
Orrick laughed in the background, even as both their eyes rested lustfully on the gorgeous Lana.
"An E-rank nobody gets himself a powerful summon, clears five floors, and suddenly everyone has to call him a hero. What a fraud," he said in a loud tone, drawing attention.
Takeshi looked between them. He was beginning to understand.
They were angry because someone they considered beneath them had suddenly received attention they believed belonged to people like them.
It was almost amusing to see trash like this even on the streets.
’This guilds should have dogs like this in cages.’ he thought. Before speaking
"You already know who I am," Takeshi retorted. "You’ve apparently been following my achievements enough to know my rank, my record, And..." he paused and waved Lana closer.
The pale skinned queen moved closer and took his hand softly, with complete loyalty causing both Brenn and Orrick to swallow in jealousy.
"---And who I summoned."
His gaze moved over the two men as though they were little children he was about to give a lollipop to.
"I’ve been here for three days and somehow I’ve already become more relevant to your kingdom than you’ve managed to become throughout your lives."
Brenn’s jaw tightened, his hands balling into a frustrated fist. But Takeshi continued before either man could interrupt.
"I’ve never heard your names. I don’t know what you’ve accomplished. I don’t know what you’ve done for your Guild. And I don’t care."
He shrugged. "Yet here you are, explaining your importance to me."
Lana’s smile returned fully and she by no means kept it hidden.
Brenn’s face darkened even further. "You arrogant bastard."
Takeshi’s expression barely changed. "I’m not the one who stopped a stranger in the street to introduce myself."
That earned a few muffled laughs from nearby.
Orrick’s expression twisted.
"You think you’re important because the Tower gave you a record?"
"No," Takeshi looked at him.
"I think I’m important because the Tower gave me a record, the Church recognized it, and people like you apparently know my name without me ever hearing yours."
The two men went quiet this time. That seemed to make things worse, as Brenn’s pride finally snapped.
"Maybe if you stopped hiding behind that woman and actually fought for yourself, you’d learn what being an adventurer means."
His eyes shifted toward Lana.
"Or do you need your maid to hold your hand every time you leave the house?"
Orrick laughed.
"Forget holding his hand. He probably needs her to walk him through every fight."
Lana’s smile disappeared.
Takeshi noticed.
He also noticed the way Brenn’s hand had moved closer to the weapon at his waist.
The man’s voice became harsher.
"You’re an E-rank. Without your summons, what exactly are you?"
Takeshi looked at him.
For the first time since the conversation began, his smile disappeared.
"Do you really want to find out?"
Brenn took the question as a challenge and swung his fist towards Takeshi’s head.
Takeshi saw the shoulder move before the punch was fully thrown.
He shifted aside, letting the fist pass close enough to stir the air beside his cheek.
Brenn barely had time to realize he’d missed before Takeshi stepped inside his guard.
His knee drove into the man’s stomach without a shred of holding back.
The impact folded Brenn almost instantly, causing a harsh grunt to escape his lips followed by a wet burst of spit as the force drove the air from his lungs...
His ugly teeth flashed for an instant before his body doubled over.
Takeshi released him. And Brenn staggered backward and crashed onto his back, one hand clutching his stomach as he struggled to breathe.
The small crowd surrounding them slowly went quiet and still.
Orrick stared in complete disbelief. Takeshi’s eyes focused on him.
"What?"
Orrick’s face twisted with disbelief.
"You...F"
His hand went to the dagger at his waist. Lana immediately stepped forward.
Takeshi quickly raised one hand. "Don’t."
She looked at him. "Master?"
"I’ll handle it."
Lana hesitated. She had never actually seen him fight before. But after a moment, she stepped back.
With the dagger drawn, Orrick charges, the small blade flashed but Takeshi followed it with ease.
The attack came as a simple stab towards his chest.
Takeshi side-stepped, his body shifted just outside the blade’s path, and the dagger passed through empty space.
He caught Orrick’s wrist as the man’s momentum carried him forward. With a quick twist, he turned the man’s shoulder with his wrist.
"Ahhhh..." Orrick screamed in agony.
But Takeshi wasn’t done. Far from it actually. Swiftly he stepped around him and drove his forehead into the man’s face.
The impact snapped Orrick’s head backward causing instant swelling at the point of impact.
Before the man could recover, Takeshi twisted his arm and threw him aside.
Orrick stumbled sideways, desperately trying to regain his footing.
His boots scraped against the stone even as his eyes saw imaginary stars.
Barely managing two steps, Orrick almost crashed straight into Lana. Causing the Vampire to react.
Moving effortlessly, her right hand barely rose as she slapped him aside casually like a princess swatting a fly randomly.
The problem was that Lana was a vampire queen. Her casual hand wave sent Orrick’s feet pushing off the ground.
His body flew across the street and crashed violently into the wall of a nearby building. Causing several bricks to fall on him.
The force was so sudden that for a moment, nobody moved.
Lana stared at her nails to check if they were damaged. Only to find a tiny smear of blood remained across her fingers.
She stared at it. Then, almost absentmindedly, she brought the blood to her tongue.
Her eyes narrowed slightly at the taste. It was nothing premium. But something satisfying.
Takeshi noticed how Orrick was tossed aside like a ragdoll and simply chuckled.
"Oops." Lana looked toward her master. "I overestimated him."
Takeshi shook his head, amusement creeping further into his expression.
"You think?"
Brenn was still on the ground, eyes rolled back in pain.
Orrick was slowly pushing himself away from the wall.
But even as they recovered, neither man seemed interested in continuing.
With this in mind, Takeshi adjusted his new coat. There wasn’t a touch of wrinkle or stain.
Looking at the small crowd that still had their mouths opened in shock.
Takeshi waved at Lana with little to no care in his posture or voice. "Come on. Let’s go."
Lana calmly pulled their shopping bags closer to her body and followed beside him.
"As you wish, Master."
They walked away into the waning morning light.
Behind them, Brenn finally managed to get enough leverage to stand but Orrick was still partly out, with a few broken ribs that would require a medic soon.
But one thing was certain, these men and everyone else present would spread the word of the Hero "Deva Grayfort." Not being a weakling that hides behind his summons.
