Chapter 108: Mirage Draw

Kael’s sword met the boss’s.

CLANG!

They separated and immediately clashed again.

Kael blocked a downward strike.

The boss twisted his blade.

Kael stepped aside.

Their swords crossed once more.

CLANG!

Kael’s eyes remained fixed on the boss.

His mind replayed everything.

Mirage Step created a false image.

The boss had already learned to track the real Kael instead of the deception.

But Kael noticed something.

Whenever he used Mirage Step, the boss’s eyes still flickered toward the false image for the briefest instant.

That moment...

Kael’s gaze dropped to his sword.

An idea formed.

What if the false image did not carry a weapon?

He visualized it.

Mirage Step.

The false Kael appeared to the boss’s left.

At the exact same moment, the real Kael moved in the opposite direction.

His sword slid into its sheath.

Then—

The real Kael reappeared from another angle.

The boss would register the unarmed illusion first.

The real blade would already be in motion.

Kael’s eyes sharpened.

That’s it.

The boss attacked again.

Kael blocked.

CLANG!

The boss pressed forward.

Kael moved suddenly.

Mirage Step.

A weaponless Kael appeared to the boss’s right.

The boss’s eyes flicked toward it.

At the same instant, the real Kael emerged from the opposite side.

His sword was already sheathed.

His hand snapped to the hilt.

“Mirage Draw.”

SHING!

The blade erupted from the sheath.

The boss reacted instantly.

CLANG!

He blocked the initial strike.

Kael’s grip tightened.

“Ripple Slash!”

The follow-through strike came immediately.

The boss attempted to bring his blade across.

He was too late.

SHING!

Kael’s sword cut across his side.

Blood sprayed.

The boss staggered back a step.

Kael landed and immediately turned to face him.

The boss looked down at the wound.

Then back at Kael.

His eyes narrowed.

Kael had finally breached his defense.

Not because Mirage Step had become faster.

Not because his sword had become stronger.

But because he had refined the deception into a single, precise misdirection—

while the real blade delivered the truth.

And finally Kael smiles
