Kael left the clearing and continued through the forest, but instead of heading back toward the entrance, he followed the deeper path he had noticed earlier. The trees became taller as he went, their branches blocking more of the sunlight and leaving the ground beneath them covered in shadows. Every few steps, Kael paused to check his surroundings before continuing.

The deeper he went, the fewer signs of ordinary beasts he found. There were no fresh tracks, no distant howls, not even the usual sounds of smaller creatures moving through the undergrowth. Kael's eyes narrowed as he noticed several trees marked with deep claw scratches, some of them far higher than he could reach.

He placed his hand against one of the trunks.

The marks were fresh.

Kael looked ahead.

"So this is where they stay."

He continued.

After another stretch of forest, Kael began sensing faint traces of mana scattered throughout the area. They weren't strong enough to belong to the Silver beasts he had sensed earlier, but there were enough of them to make it clear that this part of the forest was far more dangerous than the outer region.

Kael moved carefully between the trees, keeping his presence low as he followed the traces. Eventually, the forest opened into a wide clearing.

Kael stopped at the edge.

Several enormous trees stood around the clearing, their roots spreading across the ground like walls. In the center was a large pool of clear water, and around it were several massive footprints.

Kael crouched beside one.

Fresh.

He looked around the clearing.

Something had been here recently.

Then he noticed the bones.

They were scattered near the edge of the water, some belonging to smaller beasts while others were far too large to be ordinary prey.

Kael's expression became serious.

He stood and continued deeper.

The forest beyond the clearing was different again.

The trees were thicker.

The mana was heavier.

Kael could feel several faint presences moving somewhere ahead, but none of them approached him.

He continued for another few minutes before climbing a small rocky slope.

From the top, he could finally see farther into the forest.

Kael's eyes widened slightly.

The deeper region stretched far beyond what he had expected.

And scattered throughout it were signs of powerful beasts—destroyed trees, enormous claw marks, and distant flashes of mana between the shadows.

Kael stood silently, taking it all in.

He had thought the Bronze beast from earlier was already deep enough into the forest.

Apparently, he had been wrong.

There was an entire world beyond that point.

Kael remained on the slope for a while before slowly turning his gaze toward the direction he had come from.

He wasn't going farther today.

Not because he was afraid.

He simply wanted to understand what he was looking at before stepping into it.

Kael memorized the surroundings, then turned around and began making his way back.

This time, he didn't feel like he was leaving empty-handed.

He had a Silver core.

He had learned Blood Reinforcement.

And now he knew there was much more waiting for him inside this forest.

Kael glanced back once.

His eyes narrowed.

"I'm not strong enough"

Then he disappeared among the trees.
