Hunt Race

Chapter 136: Uninterested Kael

Kael looked at the tall hunter for a moment.

Who is this riffraff?

The man stood directly in front of him, clearly expecting some kind of reaction. Kael couldn't understand why he was still wasting his time.

The hunter narrowed his eyes.

"Are you afraid?"

Kael didn't even bother looking at him.

"Get lost. I'm not interested in entertaining you. I can't be bothered by what you believe or what you don't believe. Leave me alone. I'm very busy."

The words landed harder than the hunter expected.

For a moment, the tall hunter simply stood there, his expression stiffening as several nearby hunters exchanged looks. He had expected Kael to defend himself or accept the challenge, but instead, Kael had dismissed him without even giving him proper attention.

The hunter's face flushed slightly with embarrassment.

His jaw tightened.

"What if you stole it from someone?"

Kael remained silent.

The hunter stepped closer.

"You expect everyone here to believe a Bronze hunter walked into Black Stone Ridge alone and came back carrying a Silver core?"

His voice grew louder.

"Ain't no way a weak Bronze hunter like you could kill a Peak Bronze, talk less of a Silver."

The surrounding hunters began whispering again.

Some nodded in agreement.

Others watched Kael closely, waiting for him to finally react.

Kael still didn't spare the hunter a glance.

Instead, he casually raised his hand and placed his pinky finger in his ear.

His expression was completely bored.

The gesture immediately drew attention.

He wasn't even pretending to listen anymore.

The tall hunter's eye twitched.

"Are you even listening to me?"

Nothing.

Kael continued waiting for the receptionist, his pinky still in his ear.

The hunter's face became increasingly irritated.

"You think ignoring me will make what I said disappear?"

Still nothing.

Kael eventually removed his pinky and looked toward the receptionist again, as though the conversation had never happened.

The hunter clenched his fists.

He was a Peak Bronze hunter.

Yet Kael was treating him like an annoying child.

Several hunters nearby struggled to hide their amusement.

"He's really ignoring him."

"That guy has some nerve."

"Or he's just completely confident."

The tall hunter heard them.

His face darkened.

He opened his mouth to speak again, but suddenly stopped.

His expression changed.

The anger disappeared.

A strange smile slowly spread across his face.

An idea had just occurred to him.

"How about a bet?"

Kael's hand stopped.

For the first time, he showed the slightest reaction.

He slowly turned his head and looked at the hunter.

The hunter smiled.

"How about we make this interesting?"
