The tall hunter's face twitched.
Kael's words had clearly struck a nerve, but instead of immediately losing his temper, the hunter took a slow breath and forced himself to calm down.
"So you want something useful?"
Kael said nothing.
His arms remained folded across his chest as he watched the hunter. There was no excitement in his eyes, no nervousness, and certainly no fear. He had only asked for something worth his time.
The hunter glanced around at the watching crowd.
Several hunters were already looking between the two of them, clearly interested in seeing how far the situation would go.
"Fine."
He reached toward the pouch attached to his waist.
The hunter pulled out a small black token and held it between two fingers.
The moment the token appeared, a few of the more experienced hunters immediately recognized it.
"Wait..."
"Is that a technique token?"
One hunter stepped closer, narrowing his eyes.
"It is."
The surrounding hunters immediately began whispering.
"A technique token?"
"What's inside it?"
"Why would he bring something like that to a guild?"
The tall hunter raised the token slightly, allowing everyone to see it clearly.
"A Peak Bronze technique."
The reception area erupted.
"Seriously?"
"He's offering a Peak Bronze technique?"
"That's not something you casually give away."
"Depending on the technique, that could be worth a fortune."
"Then this bet is actually serious."
The receptionist looked at the token with a slight frown but didn't interfere. Her attention shifted toward Kael, waiting to see whether he would finally accept the challenge.
The tall hunter seemed pleased with the reaction.
He looked directly at Kael.
"Here's the offer."
He held the token up between them.
"You accept the bet, and this token becomes yours."
A few hunters exchanged confused looks.
"Wait, he gives it to him before the fight?"
The hunter continued.
"If you win, you keep it."
He paused.
"But if I win, all you have to do is admit in front of everyone that you lied about killing the Silver beast."
Several hunters immediately reacted.
"That's all?"
"He's not asking for anything from Kael?"
"Then what's the point of the fight?"
The tall hunter ignored the comments.
His eyes remained fixed on Kael.
"You wanted something useful."
He gave the token a slight shake.
"Now I've given you something useful."
Kael's gaze remained on the token.
He didn't reach for it.
He didn't even seem particularly impressed.
The hunter's smile slowly faded.
"What?"
Kael's expression remained calm.
"If I may ask..."
The nearby conversations gradually died down.
Kael finally raised his eyes toward the hunter.
"What technique is inside?"
The hunter's eyebrow lifted.
Kael studied the black token for another moment before adding casually,
"Hope it's not trash."
The entire reception area went silent.
For a second, nobody reacted.
Then several hunters exchanged stunned looks.
"He just..."
"Did he seriously call a Peak Bronze technique trash?"
"Maybe he doesn't understand how valuable those things are."
"No, look at his face. He knows exactly what he's saying."
A few hunters struggled to hide their laughter.
The tall hunter's eyebrow twitched.
His fingers tightened around the token.
He had expected curiosity.
Perhaps even excitement.
Instead, Kael was questioning whether the technique was worth accepting in the first place.
Kael simply continued staring at him, completely unfazed.
