Hunt Race

Chapter 141: Another Way

Kael's grin widened as he looked at the black token in his hand.

"Actually..."

The tall hunter's expression immediately became wary.

"There is another way."

The hunter frowned.

"What?"

Kael casually slipped the token into his pocket before looking at him with a wild grin.

"If you have anything as useful as this token..."

He stretched his hand out again.

"...then I'm very much open for more bets."

The surrounding hunters stared at him.

For a moment, nobody seemed to know whether Kael was joking.

Then one hunter burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! He's asking for another bet already?"

"That guy just got a Peak Bronze technique without even fighting!"

"And now he wants something else?"

"He really has no shame."

Kael simply grinned at them.

"What?"

He shrugged.

"There's nothing wrong with asking."

The tall hunter's face twitched.

He looked at Kael as though he couldn't decide whether to be annoyed or impressed.

"You really are..."

He stopped himself.

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"Really am what?"

The hunter ignored him.

Instead, he reached toward another pouch attached to his waist.

The surrounding hunters immediately became curious.

"What now?"

"Is he actually going to offer something else?"

The tall hunter pulled out a small glass vial.

Inside it was a dark red liquid that moved slowly whenever the vial shifted.

The moment it appeared, the atmosphere around the reception area changed.

Several experienced hunters leaned forward.

One of them widened his eyes.

"Wait..."

"Is that beast blood essence?"

Another hunter stared at the vial.

"It is."

The whispers quickly spread through the crowd.

"Beast blood essence?"

"That's expensive."

"Why does that guy have so many valuable things?"

"First a Peak Bronze technique, now blood essence?"

The tall hunter held the vial between his fingers.

"This is concentrated beast blood essence."

He looked directly at Kael.

"It's useful for strengthening the body and can be used in several different ways by hunters."

He gave the vial a small shake.

"Unlike the technique token, this isn't something you can easily replace."

Kael's eyes remained fixed on it.

His expression had changed.

The teasing smile was still there, but there was now genuine interest in his eyes.

He looked at the vial.

Then at the hunter.

Then back at the vial.

A wide grin slowly spread across his face.

"Wow..."

Kael shook his head in amusement.

"You have so many good things."

The surrounding hunters burst into laughter again.

"Look at his face!"

"He actually wants it!"

"That guy isn't even pretending anymore!"

The tall hunter's expression became complicated.

He hadn't expected Kael to be more interested in the rewards than the challenge itself.

Kael casually rested one hand on the hilt of his sword while staring at the vial.

"So..."

His grin returned.

"What are the rules for this one?"
