Hunt Race

Chapter 49: Predator

Silence.

The Silver Rank stood motionless.

His breathing had grown heavier.

Blood dripped steadily from the wound on his thigh.

Across from him—

She walked forward.

Slowly.

Calmly.

Both short swords rested in their sheaths.

A faint smile lingered on her lips.

The Silver Rank's eyes narrowed.

...

Danger.

For the first time since the battle began...

He felt it.

It was as if he had become the prey.

Without hesitation—

His sword swept outward.

"Silver Art: Crescent Sever."

A crescent slash screamed toward her.

She never stopped walking.

She simply tilted her head.

The crescent sliced through the air beside her face.

A few strands of her hair drifted into the air.

It had missed...

By a hair's breadth.

The smile on her face never faded.

Kael stood frozen.

"..."

His eyes were filled with disbelief.

She had...

Dodged it.

Without breaking her stride.

Then—

She vanished.

The Silver Rank's pupils contracted.

Too fast.

BOOM!

Her fist crashed into his face.

His head snapped sideways.

He stumbled backward.

Before he could recover—

BAM!

A second punch buried itself into his ribs.

His body twisted violently.

Then—

BOOM!

A third strike slammed into his shoulder.

The Silver Rank staggered again.

His footing became unstable.

His eyes searched frantically.

She was already in front of him.

His free hand slipped beneath his cloak.

A black knife appeared.

"Knife Art: Stunner."

The knife shot toward her throat.

She calmly raised two fingers.

Tap.

The knife stopped between them.

Kael's eyes widened.

She had caught it.

With nothing but two fingers.

She glanced at the blade.

Then...

A playful smile appeared.

With a flick of her fingers—

The knife spun around.

"Blindspot."

PFFT!

The knife pierced straight through the Silver Rank's injured thigh.

"Agh!"

A muffled cry escaped him.

His injured leg buckled beneath him.

He stumbled, struggling to keep his balance.

For the first time...

His body refused to obey him.

She continued walking.

One step.

Then another.

The Silver Rank struggled to steady himself.

His sword rose once more.

His grip tightened.

But his movements had become sluggish.

Too late.

She placed her palm gently against the center of his chest.

A faint...

Barely visible...

Tinge of silver aura gathered around her palm.

It shimmered softly.

Unlike the Silver Rank's overwhelming aura...

This one was calm.

Pure.

Yet it carried a pressure that made the air itself feel heavy.

The Silver Rank's eyes narrowed.

For the first time...

A trace of shock appeared within them.

...

Silence filled the clearing.

Even the wind seemed to stop.

Kael unconsciously held his breath.

Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"Palm Technique..."

The faint silver aura condensed into a perfect circle across her palm.

Its light resembled a full moon hanging in the night sky.

"Full Moon."

BOOOOOOOOM!!
