I Acquried A Murdering System

Chapter 17 - 017: Meeting with the General

Xero walked across the hallway hurriedly. He couldn’t understand why General Bryan had asked him to meet him. He really found it confusing, considering the fact that he was a level 1 that had irritated him.

He approached the General’s office and suddenly he found his heart beat increasing rapidly. He couldn’t understand why but his head began to pound hardly.

"Damn. What the hell?!" Xero said as he paused in tracks. He clutched his chest lightly and slowly tried to ease his breathing pattern.

Xero staggered for a moment as he tried to see the hologram in front. He stared at the hologram in shock. He was utterly confused.

"Fuck this system! I ate this morning and yesterday night." Xero complained to himself before knocking on the office door before he got permission to open it.

He walked in and saw Lonel Brayn sitting on his magnificent seat. His table was large and there were two seats in front of his desk. By the side of his office was a long silver bench. There were numerous artifacts scattered across the wall of his office. And on his table was a statue. The statue of the dual demon of Abyss.

"Good afternoon sir." Xero said and bowed his head. Lonel Brayn stared at him before responding.

"Good day dear. You can have a seat."

Xero sat down and stared at Lonel Brayn. He seemed to be in deep thoughts. He could only wonder why. He prayed that he hadn’t found out that he had killed a student. If he may have been brought here to be secretly dealt with.

"Xero Damien right?" Lonel Brayn asked trying to confirm the name he had been given. Xero affirmed the name.

"You are a level 1 and it is shocking that you survived the 2 hours test. Honestly I would been of the school of thought that you avoided fighting as much as possible but I saw you fight. For a moment I doubted our ranking system and even after conducting another check on you, you were still a level 1. I want to ask what ability you are talented with."

Xero gulped lightly. He hadn’t expected this question. It had come out of the blue. He couldn’t tell the General about his system as thar would be in sane so he had to forcefully tell him that he had no ability.

"Sir, I’m a Lamer as I posses no ability."

"Seriously? You have no ability? That’s insane. Yet you defeated a level 3 and even killed him. You mean you did that with no extra power or ability? Come on boy tell me the truth." Lonel Brayn leaned in now.

By now Xero was sweating profusely. He smiled wearily. The General knew he had killed someone. Was that something to be happy or sad about? Was the General going to value him more or detest him?

"No sir. I do not have an ability. I am planning to acquire on which matches with my velour." Xero said and paused.

Suddenly the General began to laugh. Xero stared at him in shock, wondering if he had said something he wasn’t supposed to. He stared nervously at the General.

"Well that is exactly why I called you. Here in the Military, we have syrups of abilities that we can administer to you and with that you cam gain a whole new ability."

Xero stared at him. He didn’t know the military had ability syrups for Lamers but he knew that giving it out wasn’t going to be free. After all the ability syrups in the exchange market was sold for extremely high prices. Even the weakest abilities were costing four times the price of a solid building.

"So sir, are you saying you have an ability syrup for me?"

"Yes of course. I’m with it here." Lonel Brayn said and brought out a dark shiny bottle. It shimmered lightly. Xero stared at the bottle in awe. He was staring at the one thing he had always wanted. The one thing he had covered all his life.

"Sir this isn’t for free or is it?"

"Very smart question there. The Military Super University wouldn’t just give you an ability syrup without anything to gain. For all we know the least quality ability syrups are about 100 million dollars. That’s a lot money you see."

"So what is the price of this. And why give me now." Xero asked finding it suspicious.

"Look. The price is somewhat cheap but expensive. The Military will reserve the right to kill you when necessary and you will sign in that you will never use your ability outside the military order. Then every four months, you are mandated to bring four students to the school for important messages. Then also you can also bail out the chosen persons with money if you want to."

Xero stared at Lonel Brayn in shock. That was a hell of contract for a single ability syrup. Though it seemed like a cheaper price but it was more like slavery.

"Sorry sir but I will like to think about it. Probably come up with a fitting answer." Xeei said calmly.

Lonel Brayn smiled at him and waved him off. " Yes of course. You can take your time. After all its your very own ability we are speaking of here."

"Thank you sir. I will be taking my leave now." Xero said and left his office. Lonel Brayn stared at him the whole time until he slammed the door behind him. Then he heaved a sigh of relief.

"That’s the perfect vessel. I’ve waited fifteen years and I have finally found him. You better live up to the expectations and get this ability. I wonder what level he would be after gaining an ability. I’m sure he would level up insanely." He said as he smiled.

On the bottle two pairs of red ominous eyes appeared and from a dark depth within, a dark evil laughter rippled through.....
