While Genos and Xero were fending off the year two students, Dennis had slipped in and was freeing the lower levels. The other students had already left the refectory as soon as the Year twos had the upper hand.
He had done that unnoticed for three minutes. He was about freeing the 23rd student when someone tapped him from behind.
He spun around quickly and was shocked to see a girl standing before him. Her eyes were shining brightly with red energy. She wore a black attire and she had two long sharp protruding fangs.
He moved backwards, fast enough to dodge her fist strike. He stared at this vampire with a cold look.
"Surprised to see me?" She said and he scowled at her.
"Come on. You still your sister Dennis." She said and laughed lightly.
Dennis clenched his fists tightly. He couldn’t believe that his sister was now a vampire. Just what the hell had happened to her while she was in this school.
"What happened to you, Elisa?" Dennis asked as he stared at his now strange sister.
"Me? I’m perfect now. After all the years of your mockery, I gained a powerful ability. To use my enemies blood as my source of strength. Isn’t that quite the story?" She said as she approached him further.
"You know, I had to become stronger because of the societal standards. You and dad really made my life a living hell." She said as she licked her lips.
BOOM!
Dust exploded into the air.
He rolled across the floor, stopped himself with one hand, and slowly stood. She had moved to quickly. He had managed to dodge the attack in time.
"You hit harder than I remember." he said and smiled but she disappeared. His eyes widened and then...
THUD!
Her fist slammed into his stomach. His body lifted from the ground and flew backward. He smashed through a stack of chairs, sending them scattering across the hall.
"Damn it. She’s a vampire which makes her stronger than I remember. Besides she’s a level..." he paused and looked at her watch to notice her rank was level 13. He cursed himself as he felt the overwhelming fear that washed over him.
How the hell had she become this strong? Just how did she end up a vampire? Hid thoughts were breached when she slammed her knee into his gut and crashed against the wall behind him.
Before he could recover, she was already above him. Her claws came down. He moved faster and twisted his body at the last second.
Her claws ripped through the floor instead, carving four deep trenches into the concrete.
"Still as reflexive as ever." Elisa said and chuckled lightly. Dennis shrugged lightly.
"I don’t how you turned out to be a fairly tale being but I’m sure you are demon." Dennis said and dived towards her.
She chuckled lightly as she vanished from her spot and appeared right behind him.
"Too slow." She mocked and kicked him off the ground.
He flew mud air and managed to pause his flight just before grazing his shoulder against a pillar. Blood seeped from his left ear. The earlier kick seemed to have broken his left ear.
"I’m trying to be light on you but you are too weak for my training." Elisa mocked him. Dennis shrugged. He remembered those words from his past.
"What is your deal with this?" Dennis asked as she walked towards him. His HP read 45/80.
"This? Its a little welcome party." Elisa said and smiled widely.
"Welcome party? You are devil to think this a party."
"Really? I didn’t think myself as one. It’s a screening exercise for us."
"What screening exercise? You are clearly tormenting the lower class." Dennis said as he stood up.
"Well you are all new in the school. So you see this school isn’t one governed by mere rules and regulations. An unbalanced power quest is what governs this institution." She said and paused her movements.
"When I came here last year, I was merely a weakling and I was made a punching bag just as you and dad made me. I felt cursed and depressed. That was when I first met him. With him I gained the power you see now." She said and took a heavy step forward.
"You see I used to believe in rebirth. Do you know what it means to be reborn? It means you pass out your old self and everything that binds you to it. I have been reborn into the family of Dutch Serpents and you just meddled into our affair." She said and took a flash step towards him.
Before he could react, he was down to the ground, her claws pinning him in the centre of the hall. The impact built up cracks all around the floor where his figure was.
"Grghhh!!!"
He vomited a handful of blood and he wanted to curse as he saw his HP drop to 15. He hadn’t even done as much as to inflict a wound on her. Their power difference was massive. Too massive. He wondered if it was because she was a vampire.
Then she began to rain down heavy punches on him. Each punch sank him deeper into the ground. She punched until his HP blinked 1.
A slight chuckle escapee her lips. "That’s for all you did to me. Send my regards to pops. And one more thing."
She leaned in closer, and whispered into his ears. "Don’t come looking for me. You try it and I promise to kill you myself."
Then she walked away towards the other five who had surrounded Genos. She looked left to see Xero laying numb on the ground. Her pulse increased rapidly as she stared at him.
’What the hell is he? Why do I feel that urge?’ She quickly brushed off any thoughts and walked up to them.
"Come on let’s leave. We are done here. Let those two live. We can handle them later. We shouldn’t get caught now." She said and they stared at her.
"She is right let’s leave." The healer said and followed her.
The other four stared at each other for a while before leaving with her. Genos tries to stand up and follow them but his knees gave up on him.
He collapsed on the ground. His HP was blinking 3. His entire body was too weak to even move.
"Who is that guy?..." he muttered before his eyes shut.
