The chains pulled tight and the Black Silence moved toward the Heart.
Slowly but without stopping.
"This can’t..." It began with disbelief and grabbed at everything around it with its entire structure.
There was nothing to grab, the Ruined Heart was pulling itself and it could not stop it.
Lian did not release the chains and continued pulling it with all his strength.

The Black Silence struggled wildly, parts of its body stretched, some mouths screamed, some eyes stared directly at Lian and cursed him.
Another chain suddenly cracked.

But half of the Calamity had entered the Heart.
"Father must know!" The Calamity screamed this time with anger mixed with something similar to fear.
"Then I’ll tell him myself when I see him." Lian replied with cold sarcasm and pulled the last chain.

The Black Silence tried to take his identity again, it tried to use all its power for a spiritual attack.
But those damned chains, that damned unknown golden light, were completely draining it and destroying its powers.

But Young Vorhelm was not doing nothing either, even if it was because of anger, he continued pulling it with all his strength.
This body belonged to him.
This soul belonged to him.
This Heart, whatever it was, was at least inside him.
And he was punishing this bastard who had dared to occupy his body and almost destroy his entire soul.

The Black Silence had almost completely entered and only part of its huge shadow remained outside.
"Let me go! You don’t know what you’re doing—"
"If Father finds out, he will destroy you! He will destroy your world! He will destroy everyone you care about!"

But it was already too late, the entire Calamity went inside and the two halves of the Heart closed with tremendous force.

And then complete silence filled everything.
Lian did not move for several seconds and only looked at the Heart, and the Ruined Heart was closed.
The golden light around him also slowly disappeared.

For a moment, he only looked at the message.
It was over.
It had not been sealed and it had not escaped, and the system had directly confirmed that he had swallowed the Black Silence.
"Finally." He said with a relief that even he could not completely hide.
All those difficulties, all that pain and sacrifice had finally paid off, the Calamity that could threaten their world and the lives of billions of people had finally been eliminated.
All his efforts had finally paid off and now his first Evolution was available.
The Ruined Heart began to open again.
Lian immediately prepared himself and suddenly raised his guard for any abnormality, but this time no dark pressure came out from inside.
Only light came from inside it and the crack opened enough for him to see inside.
The five slots were still there, four slots were empty but the fifth slot was no longer empty.
Something was placed on it, it was statue-like or perhaps something that the Heart had decided to show in the form of a statue.
A small faceless figure was sitting in the center of the slot.
A robe made of darkness was wrapped around it, but the darkness was not moving, several closed mouths could be seen on the surface of the figure.
A broken ring floated behind it.
For a moment Lian thought it had two horns, he blinked and suddenly there were four horns.
A moment later, it seemed to have no horns at all and something like wings had appeared from its back.
The shape was still not stable, but two things always remained the same, two purple eyes and a calm purple and black aura that floated over the slot.
[First Slot Completed.]
[Black Silence]
[Status: Swallowed.]
He stared at the figure for several seconds, he could not feel any living presence, only a record, a symbol of something that had now become part of the Heart.
Then another cracking sound came.
Lian moved his gaze to the Heart, but this time the crack did not become larger, instead it closed, one of the small cracks on the surface of the Heart slowly disappeared.
Then a second one.
The large crack that stretched from the upper part to the center became slightly narrower.
The light inside the Heart became more stable and the next beat was stronger.
Booooom.
He said nothing and only watched.
So his guess was not wrong, swallowing a Calamity really did affect the Ruined Heart itself.
But why? He still did not know, and the other four slots were still empty, four more Calamities.
Lian mentally sighed.
"Looks like I’ll have to do it again." He said with boredom, although he knew better than anyone that this one attempt had almost taken his entire life.
Even so, he had succeeded.
With all the chaos, with all the pain, with his own death, at least he had succeeded and he hoped it would be worth it.

Lian took his gaze away from the Heart, it was time to return and the sounds from outside became clear again.
This time through his own body.
His heartbeat had not started yet, but his physical senses were slowly reconnecting.
The cold ground under his body.
The dried blood on his skin.
The weight of something inside his chest.
The sound of the heavy breathing of the people around him.
Lian tried to see the scene outside, at first it was unclear and then it became clearer.
The Titan’s corpse in the distance.
A graveyard where almost no part of the ground was still intact.
Countless corpses.
Four dead Cindari who were still somewhere on the battlefield.
Rindo and the others who had barely survived, and Seris lying a few meters away.
Sovereign’s Last Stand was over, all the damage that the skill had held back for a while had returned to his body.
Even from this distance, she did not look to be in good condition.
But someone was standing beside Lian’s body.
Darian.
For a moment Lian focused all his attention on him, his brother, he had already noticed his brother here before, but he had not had time to care about it.
If he was honest, even he did not know exactly what he should feel toward Darian.
Their meetings had been few, Darian had lived outside the country for years and information about his activities was limited even inside the family.
They were not obvious enemies but they were not "close" either, in fact, perhaps the total amount of time they had seen each other throughout their entire lives was less than a few hours.
Lian could not even easily remember the last long conversation he had with his brother, or if they had even had one.
However, he had seen that this brother of his had helped Seris and the rest of the group a lot here, perhaps unlike his other brothers and sisters, this one was not that bad...?
Darian was looking at his corpse, there was no clear emotion on his face, there was no sadness or grief and his face was completely calm.
For a moment Lian thought that maybe he was only examining his brother’s death.
But then the corner of Darian’s lips rose, not the same easy and social smile he had on his face in Crystal-Line.
This one was different, more real and colder.
"Oh boy..." He suddenly said in a quiet voice and slightly tilted his head,.
"I never thought you would get yourself killed without me even needing to get my hands dirty."
"You made my job much easier."
Inside Lian’s Ruined Heart, nothing moved and all the relief from a few seconds ago disappeared from his mind.
