Snow’s smile froze as she saw the wound already healing. "No." She panicked and raised her hand.

As her mana surged, multiple blazing lances materialized immediately. With a wave of her hand, she sent them whistling toward Sylus.

Sylus backhanded those fiery attacks as if they were flies.

Booom! Booom! Boooom!

Each fire lance struck the ground with explosive force and detonated. Dust and debris scattered everywhere.

Sylus raised one leg and stomped it down.

Zzzzzzzzz!

Instantly, bolts of lightning descended from the sky and struck Snow.

Zapp!

Her body was flung through the air once more, this time white and blue energy dancing across her body.

Thud! Thud! Thud! She hit the ground and bounced twice before coming to a halt.

"Pathetic." Sylus spat. "Like mother, like daughter. She thought she could be my opponent back then. What a joke! And now, her daughter thinks she can stop me with this pathetic level of strength?"

He jumped and landed in front of Snow, his shadow looming over her. "I should have razed everything related to her back then. Then this day wouldn’t have come. But... It’s never too late to right your mistakes, is it?" Sylus said while raising his right hand. The right palm straightened like a saber, and lightning danced along it. "Go say hi to your mother. Tell her I am getting the pill today. I want to see what she can do." Saying that, he thrust his hand forward, the tip of his fingers ready to pierce her.

The woman with two male companions watched from a distance and didn’t intervene.

Just as the strike was about to land...

Whoooosh!

A long spear of ice came out of nowhere and embedded in the ground just before Snow. It stopped Sylus from killing Snow momentarily.

Sylus raised his head, his expression darkening. He looked toward the way the spear had come from.

A helicopter was hovering in the air. Five people jumped from it and landed on the mountaintop. One of them was none other than Snow’s uncle, the person she had met in the cafe a few days ago and had asked for help today.

"Didn’t I say not to act rashly before I arrive?" Snow’s uncle said unhappily as he walked forward. The other four followed.

Sylus narrowed his eyes. "And you guys are?"

"I am her uncle. And I’m the brother of the woman you slaughtered for a pill."

"Uhhh, so you all are here today in a group. Brother, daughter... Can’t wait to meet her? Hahahah." Sylus burst into laughter. "No problem. Come. Let me help each one of you." A malicious grin spread across his face as Sylus started walking toward the five people.

His mana surged, lightning dancing across his body. The aura of the strongest Disaster Class hunter in the world flared. The ground started shaking. The air became thick with tension.

One of the people who had come with Snow’s uncle whispered. "This is looking bad. Even if we fight together, we won’t be his match. We only came here to take Snow back safely. Think of something, Rudy."

"Don’t worry, Vincent. We only have to delay long enough for the boy who entered the Horn’s Nest to come out and leave this place safely with us. He may be the strongest hunter in the world, but even he wouldn’t dare to mess with the military. Once we return to our camp, we are safe." Snow’s uncle said.

"You talk as if it’s as easy as walking in the park. Hold him off until the boy comes out? When is he going to come out? How are you so sure he can come out? If it was that easy to enter the Horn’s Nest and come out willingly after that, why have people waited for ages to get their hands on the treasure within it?" Another person from the group expressed his dissatisfaction.

At his words, Snow’s uncle became silent. He too wasn’t so sure that Leon would be able to come out alive. He had only come here to take Snow back, but he knew how stubborn she was. She would never leave without the young man if she had already decided.

Before he could arrive, she had already dared to attack Sylus. How different was it from poking a sleeping lion?

Booooooom!

Those five dispersed in different directions, dodging the attack.

But...

Zapppppp!

Sylus was already before one of them, releasing a devastating punch.

The fist, surrounded by dancing arcs of lightning, slammed into the person’s chest. "Blaaarrrrggghhhh." Coughing a mouthful of blood, the person was sent flying.

Whoooosh!

Whoooosh!

A fiery arrow and a metal dagger passed by as Sylus dodged two attacks with ease. He turned around and lunged forward.

Chaos descended on the mountaintop.

Meanwhile, Leon, who was oblivious to all of this, continued to swallow monster cores. A long time had passed here. His cultivation was increasing but at a very slow rate.

After consuming thousands of Disaster Class monster cores, he had only reached the third level of the Martial Warrior realm. Yet there was no dissatisfaction in his expression.

Rather, he looked happy. Because he could feel it. The power surging within him was already close to what he had at the third level of the Martial Master realm.

He continued to swallow core after core.

A black, sticky substance was pouring out of his pores. Before it could spread a stench, it was being consumed by fire.

The demon continued to observe from afar. "Interesting. Even the impurities within Master are being extracted. What a miraculous pill. If all the impurities can be extracted, how great will Master’s cultivation talent become?"

The black substance was nothing but impurities within a person. It would block the flow of Qi or mana. Extracting the impurities was one of the most difficult jobs in the path of either cultivation or mana training. It was difficult to find valuable herbs that would help with it. And even if anyone found high-quality herbs, those wouldn’t extract the full amount of impurities. At most, fifty to sixty percent. Yet that would elevate a person’s talent to a great extent.

Yet here Leon was. By the looks of it, more than eighty percent of impurities had already been extracted from him.

His skin had gained a faint, almost translucent luster. And the speed at which fire was automatically being absorbed? It had become at least four times faster.
