After entering the Martial Warrior realm, Leon’s progress had slowed down a lot. He was absorbing the fire and consuming the monster cores. His Qi reserve was increasing at a very fast rate. Yet, he was closing in toward the boundary for a breakthrough like a turtle. Why? First, now his dantian had grown in size, needing far more Qi to fill it. Second, he had three dantians now.
But he wasn’t in a hurry. Because he knew time ran at a different pace here. If only he knew what was going on outside.
Snow’s uncle and the four people were fighting Sylus with everything they had. But still, they were at a disadvantage.
One of them hurled multiple fiery arrows at Sylus with his magical bow. But Sylus weaved between them with ease. Drawing his hand back, he focused as a lightning sphere materialized. He threw it at the one with the bow. Booooooom! His mana faltered as the magical bow vanished.
Snow’s fist clenched as she continued to observe from the side. She was badly injured to take part in the fight.
Another one appeared at Sylus’s side, wielding two swords.
Whooosh! Whooosh! As he moved, the blades cut through the air dangerously.
But Sylus leisurely threw a punch right at one of his swords.
Peng!
The sword snapped in half as the fist continued forward and slammed into the swordsman’s chest.
Snow’s uncle’s face looked gloomy. Not because they were losing. But because he could tell. Sylus wasn’t even using his full power. It looked as if Sylus was playing with them. The killer of his sister stood right in front of him. Yet, he didn’t have the power to seek revenge. He felt frustrated.
Just when the fight was getting out of hand, and Snow’s uncle felt that any one of them could die at any moment...
Booooooom!
A loud explosion erupted as Sylus stopped attacking. Snow’s uncle and the four also leaped back.
Two figures landed on the ground. One was a young man who looked to be in his mid-twenties. Another was a middle-aged person. The young man was carrying a sword sheathed in a scabbard.
"Who the hell are you two?" Sylus asked, displeased. He had come here to obtain the pill he had been waiting for a long time. But one after another, people were playing with his patience.
First, the arrogant girl from the Purple Hermit clan who had come with two of her companions. And now, she was standing at a distance, looking at them as if she were watching a show.
Then Snow, who even dared to sneak attack him. If not for his lightning healing spell, he would have surely died.
Then came her uncle. Sylus was actually struggling to understand where this bunch of people got the courage to mess with him.
Yet, now... Two more uninvited guests had arrived.
"Me?" The young man with the sword narrowed his eyes. "You don’t know about me?" He looked genuinely surprised. "Looks like the outside world is getting too rampant and overbearing because we confine ourselves within the Summitas Valley."
"So fucking what if you are from Summitas Valley? That gives you the right to interfere in my business?" Sylus drew his hand back as lightning pulsed across his arm. And then...
Boooom! He thrust his arm forward, a bolt of lightning shooting out.
The young man’s face paled as he quickly unsheathed the sword and blocked the incoming lightning bolt with it.
Boooom!
Another loud bang echoed as the man was pushed back, his legs digging trenches in the ground. Hissing smoke curled up from the sword.
Sylus narrowed his eyes. ’This sword! Is it a Disaster Class weapon?’ He wondered.
"You dare to attack someone from the Crimson Moon clan?" The middle-aged man beside the young man barked.
Sylus looked at him, annoyed. "So what if he’s from some Crimson Moon clan or White Moon clan or whatever color Moon clan? That gives you the right to be a nuisance?
The middle-aged man froze. He didn’t think anyone would show this much disrespect to his clan. But he didn’t say anything. He wanted to. But he didn’t dare to. He could feel the hum in the air. The aura that was leaking out from Sylus. It sent a chill down his spine.
But the young man looked totally unbothered by it. Or rather, he still didn’t understand the gravity of the situation.
Meanwhile, a car stopped below the mountaintop where chaos had descended.
Emily stepped out of it. Sol followed. Spencer was the last to come out. "Finally, we are here." He said while stretching his arms a little. "Let’s go up and see what the situation is."
Emily and Sol shared a glance before starting to walk.
Just then...
Boooooooooo!
Rumble!
Rumble!
Rumble!
The whole mountain region shook as a loud explosion echoed.
Emily and the other two immediately looked up. "It has already started," Emily said with an expressionless face.
"Let’s hurry," Sol suggested.
All three of them started running as they advanced along the mountain trail.
At the mountaintop, the whole area was filled with smoke. A huge crater could be seen in the middle, and the young man lay sprawled at its center. He was holding the sword before his chest as blood gushed out from his mouth. "You!" His veins bulged in rage.
Sylus stood at the edge of the crater, his right hand raised. Mana was swirling around his palm as lightning crackled. "Die." He roared and unleashed a lightning bolt so devastating that the space distorted.
The zigzag arcs of white and blue energy shot toward the young man. And then... It struck the sword.
Booooooom!
A loud bang echoed. But then...
Nothing...
The young man’s lips slowly curved into a smile. "That’s all? That’s all the strongest mage of the world is capable of? Come on. Don’t let me down. I had to go through a lot of trouble to bring this sword. At least let me unleash its full potential." He said with a grin.
