"You want to defeat the Jungle King and destroy the egg?" Leon asked.

"Yes."

"How many of you will be going?"

"There are three more who can fight from our village. They were badly hurt the last time, so they didn’t take part in today’s mission."

"If all five of you couldn’t defeat it before, why did only the two of you go back?"

"How were we releasing energy? With mana, of course." Riven said with a dumbfounded expression.

"Mana!" Leon repeated. ’Wait! They aren’t cultivators? But the environment has spiritual energy here!’ He wondered. Leon thought for a while before speaking again. "I will help you. Riven nodded. "Alright then. Let’s wait for a few days before we attack the Jungle King."

"Good. And..." He pushed the platter and mug of milk forward. "I really don’t need the food. Give it to someone who is in real need."

Riven, meanwhile, left the home and soon arrived at another house. He entered the room. Inside, Luna was present. She noticed and looked back.

"How did it go?" She asked.

"I convinced him to join in a raid against the Jungle King."

"Good. When are we attacking then?"

"Let’s wait for a few days. Let Juan, Naveen, and Mini get healed. I think with him, we have a chance to defeat the Jungle King." Riven said.

"I want that sword of his after everything is done," Luna said.

Riven chuckled. "Sure. But don’t think about him. He’s mine. I convinced him to come to the village. And I even convinced him to join the fight, too."

"Okay, okay." She waved her hand dismissively. "But what about the egg?"

"What of it? We give it to the elder."

"Are you sure about that? It’s us who are risking our lives." Luna said.

"Yes, but don’t forget we are here only because of the village. Also, we don’t even know how to unlock the power with the egg."

"What if someone else does? We can find someone who can teach us how to utilize the egg to unlock the divine ability." She said excitedly.

"Don’t spout nonsense, Luna. If we betray the village, think what will happen to our family. No one related to us will be spared." Riven said seriously.

Luna’s face darkened at those words, but then she relaxed soon. "Alright."

Days started to pass normally after that. Leon passed his days cultivating. Though his realm didn’t increase, his Qi reserve increased. He would go outside occasionally. But the harsh environment was anything but enjoyable.

After four days, it was finally time.

Riven entered Leon’s room when he was seated in a lotus position. Thick air whistled through the corners of his mouth with each exhale. The air surrounding him seemed warm. Riven was taken aback and almost forgot to call out Leon. But Leon felt that someone was staring at him and opened his eyes.

"You’re here. Is there something you need to discuss?" Leon asked. His voice broke Riven’s daze.

"Y-yeah. Those three who were injured have finally healed fully. If it’s okay with you, we want to raid the Jungle King’s place today."

"Sure," Leon said without hesitation and stood up. "Let’s get going,"

Riven nodded and came out, Leon following behind him. Coming outside, Leon found that four people were already standing in combat gear. Among the four, Leon knew one. Luna. Among the other three, two were boys and one girl. All were aged below their mid-twenties.

"Let me introduce them." Riven started. He pointed toward a young man with a grey beard who was standing with a bow and a quiver filled with arrows at his back. "This is Juan. He specializes in long-distance attacks. His affinity is vector. He can change the trajectory, which greatly aids him in using a bow.

Next, he pointed toward another man who was standing casually, a rugged wand resting at his waist. "This is Naveen. A fire mage. He is very capable."

He then pointed toward the second girl beside Luna. "And this is Mini. She is a reinforcement mage. She can aid in elevating others’ abilities while fighting."

Leon nodded at each one of them.

"Let’s go now." Riven turned and started walking after that. Leon started following, as everyone else did. There was no extra talk.

Soon they arrived at the center of the village. Everyone wished the group good luck as the six left the village and headed toward the Jungle.
