Leon stopped in his tracks. "What’s the meaning of this?"

"Nothing special," Riven said with a chuckle. He no longer had his previous gentleness. Instead, a malicious expression spread across his face. "You served your first purpose. Now, it’s time for your second one." Saying that, Riven drew his right hand to the left, readying the halberd to swing.

"Wait," Leon said abruptly. "At least tell me why you are doing this."

Riven froze for a second before bursting into laughter.

"Hahahahah. Is that your last wish or something?"

Leon didn’t reply. "Very well then. I will tell you. But first, you have to hand over that sword you were using earlier." Riven said. ’I have no idea how he brought out that sword. Let’s secure that first.’ He mused inwardly.

"Sure. If you tell me what’s going on, I will give you that sword." Leon immediately brought out the black claymore from the system panel. The moment it appeared, Luna’s eyes flashed with excitement. She walked forward to take it.

"And not just this. I will give you another one. Far, far better than this." Leon suddenly spoke again before Luna could take the sword. Leon brought out the Frost Monarch’s blade willingly. Not fully, though. Only the hilt and the upper portion of the blade emerged. Yet that was enough for everyone’s jaws to almost hit the ground. The cold aura it radiated sent a chill down their spines.

Luna, who had raised her hand to take the black claymore, froze. Others also stared at the white blade in a daze.

Leon quickly sent the Frost Monarch’s blade to the system storage. ’Now it should be easy to get answers from them.’

Luna quickly took the black claymore from Leon. "What about that one? Give me that sword, too," Luna said sharply. The greed and urgency in her voice were unmistakable.

"I will. But first, I want to know what’s going on here. Why do you want to capture or kill me? Is there really a curse affecting the village?"

Whoooooosh! Luna’s sword flashed through the air. The sharp blade touched Leon’s skin, drawing blood. She didn’t put much pressure. She wanted to threaten Leon, not kill him before acquiring the Frost Monarch’s blade. "I won’t say it again. That white sword." She hissed.

"Go ahead and kill me then," Leon said firmly. There was no hesitation in his voice. No fear.

"You think we won’t kill you?"

"I don’t know. But I don’t care. You can kill me right now if you don’t want that sword." Leon said confidently. His lips slowly curved into a smile.

Luna was enraged and was about to swing, but Riven grabbed her wrist. "Wait." He looked at Leon.

"If you don’t deliver that sword after I answer your questions, trust me, I will make you feel like death would have been easier."

Leon didn’t reply and waited for them to continue.

"You should consider yourself lucky, actually. You are serving a great purpose." Riven grinned. The others also chuckled as if Riven had just joked about something.

"I am going to absorb your cultivation base."

"Absorb my cultivation base?" Leon’s eyes widened.

"Yes. We worship the Demon God ’Rakshasa’. And by his blessings, we can absorb anyone’s cultivation base to increase our own strength. Our village has only five fighters because, to grow stronger, we had to absorb others’ cultivation."

Leon’s shock only grew deeper. "And what happened to those after their cultivation was absorbed?"

"Hahaha. Worried, are you?" Juan added from the side.

Leon didn’t reply and waited for Riven to continue.

"They died, of course." He said casually.

Leon’s blood turned cold. ’Killing their own to gain strength? Are they really humans? And Demon God? Is it a literal God or just a demon with a title.’ Different questions swirled inside his mind.

"And the curse?" After calming his pounding heart a little, Leon asked again.

"No curse. That was just a made-up story." Riven said shamelessly.

"But then why is the environment so harsh here?"

"No specific reason. It’s just how it is."

"And that egg? What do you want it for?"

"That egg has a divine ability inside it. A great inheritance from the Demon Monarch. We want to obtain that ability."

"Demon Monarch?" Leon’s brows furrowed. "You know the Demon Monarch?"

"We have read about him. The Demon King’s eldest Son. The one who ruled the then era. The legend. The terror. Can you even imagine what will happen when we obtain one of his abilities? We will rule the current world."

"And the Demon God? What’s his relationship with the Demon Monarch?"

"Demon God’s relationship with Demon Monarch? Are you stupid? Demon God is God. An eternal. What relationship can he have with the Demon Monarch? Demon Monarch might have been an immortal, but he still died in the end. But Gods? They have existed since the beginning of time. Before there was nothing."

’An eternal! A god?’ Leon mused inwardly.

"I think you got all your answers. Now hand over that sword." Luna said impatiently.

Naveen and Mini were standing casually. They weren’t particularly interested in the conversation, but they were surely enjoying the spectacle.

"Yes," Leon said after being engrossed in thought for a while. "Thank you very much for all your cooperation," Leon said while turning slowly toward them. "Now, before I give you the sword, before I serve my second purpose, there is something important I need to do," Leon said, his lips curving into a smile.

Suddenly, a bad premonition flashed through everyone’s mind standing before Leon.

"Don’t try anything funny." Riven barked. "It’s only going to make your death painful."

Leon didn’t reply to him. Instead, he activated his second bloodline. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

Whoooooosh!

Whoooooosh!

The pair of crimson daggers shot out from the system panel. They instantly activated stealth mode before anyone could see. Everyone only heard whistling sounds.

And the next moment...

Schlk!

Something went through Mini’s head. Blood sprayed as she fell.

"Miniiiii," Naveen shouted and was about to rush toward her.

But....

Whoooooosh!

A gaping hole appeared in his head as well.
