I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 277: Are You A Demon

The bow’s grip landed on Logan’s palm as he slowly wrapped his fingers around it.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Lightning crackled in the sky. Bolts rained down and struck the ground.

Logan turned toward Mercer with the bow in his hand. "This bow is yours. Though you already know you won’t be able to use it without the weapon accepting someone as its master. But I hope you will keep your promise and hand over the Sky Heart to me."

Mercer thought for a while before discussing something with Lilith in a low voice. After that, he looked at Logan again. "The Sky Heart is yours. We can even give it to you right after returning to the palace if you want. But we have a request. We don’t need the Thunder Ghost. It has already accepted you as its master. And considering Merrick’s action, no future collaboration with the Navana Empire is possible. We want you to help us in the battle against the monsters from Nexar. Do you think you can do that?"

"Alright," Logan replied instantly.

"I know it’s asking a lot, but..." Mercer started speaking again but then froze. "Wait! You agree?"

Logan nodded.

"Hahahahah. Thank you. Thank you very much." Mercer said heartily.

"Huh!" Ranata sneered. "Weren’t you just saying demons are despicable? Calling my Master a dangerous being? You changed your stance so quickly."

"I was just being careful about a person because there are so many rumours about them. And other than him, can you say demons are not despicable?"

"I should take my leave now," Verham said. "Lamia, Ranata, Yami, Mercer... Until next time." He looked at Logan then and bowed slightly. After that, he soared into the sky and morphed into a dragon again. Flapping his wings, he left the place in a hurry.

"Let us also get back." Princess Lilith said. "I need to inform my father about the betrayal of Merrick and the Navana Empire. They are actually working with the monsters from Nexar. This is troublesome."

Logan nodded. Yami, Lamia, and Renata vanished into his soul sanctuary.

Soon they started for the palace again.

"Uncle, you were so cool back then," Spade said with sparkling eyes. "How are you so strong?"

"Uncle trains hard to get stronger," Logan said with a smile.

"If I train hard, can I become stronger like you?"

"Why not? You will even leave me behind."

"Hahahahah. I know that’s not possible."

Lilith was listening to everything. Once Spade stopped for a little while, Lilith looked at Logan. "What happened back then? The village, the people. Your wife. The Sky Heart, are you collecting it because you want to revive her?"

Logan’s smile vanished, replaced by a pained expression. "Yes. It’s because I want to revive my wife. And about what happened back then, I don’t want to discuss it."

Lilith didn’t press further.

"I am sorry if my words were very rude back then. But I was just being cautious." Mercer suddenly said.

Logan waved his hand dismissively. "Don’t dwell on it. We don’t owe each other anything, and I have no reason to be upset with your words. Once I get the Sky Heart and am done with helping you, I will ascend to the eighth heaven."

The carriage became silent after that. Only Spade talked a bit now and then. And the others would reply to him.

Days passed like that. On the final day, as the carriages were closing in toward the palace, nobody noticed that they passed through an invisible barrier. There was no way to notice it because only when the carriages passed through the barrier did the air ripple slightly.

Soon the carriages arrived before the palace. But the main gate was locked. Mercer felt something was wrong and got down from the carriage first. The moment he did, his brows furrowed instantly.

The whole place was surrounded. Knights were pointing weapons toward the carriages warily.

"What’s the meaning of this?" He asked, but no one replied.

Lilith and others also got down from the carriages.

Lilith, too, was stunned when she saw the knights pointing weapons at them.

"What are you doing? How dare you point weapons toward your princess?" Lilith said coldly.

The knights looked at each other warily, but no one replied.

Logan hadn’t come out yet. But the moment he did, all took a step back as Logan was a ferocious-looking monster.

"Raise both of your hands." One of the knights shouted. "Don’t try to act smart, or we won’t hesitate to kill you right away."

Logan’s eyes narrowed. He looked at Lilith and then at Mercer as if asking what was going on. But Mercer and Lilith also wore puzzled expressions.

Just as they were about to say something...

The metal door started sliding open. The King emerged from inside. Other members were there as well. King’s older brother. King’s wife. Jeremiah Hale. And a few other people.

Lilith’s expression darkened as her eyes fell on a particular person. The person was none other than Merrick, the prince of Navana.

"You! How dare you come here? Aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to leave this place with your life intact?"

Merrick didn’t reply and chuckled smugly. His eyes then darted toward Logan. His gaze turned venomous.

Logan didn’t bother to look back at him, though. His eyes were fixed on three particular people standing between the king and Jeremiah. The aura radiating from them was definitely suppressed. Yet from Logan’s expression, it was clear that he could easily see through their disguise. ’God Accession realm?’ He thought. ’One is at the eighth stage while the other two are at the sixth stage. What are they doing here?’

"Your Highness," Mercer spoke. "The Navana Empire betrayed us. We were planning to seek their help in fighting against the monsters, but not only did he not help us, he even tried to collude with the monsters and abduct Princess Lilith.

"You..." The King finally spoke, but not to Lilith or Mercer. His eyes were fixated on Logan. "Are you a demon?"
