When Dean opened his eyes back in the real world, the first thing that surprised him was how meagre the reward he’d been given was.

Whenever he emerged alive from a dungeon, he was sure to receive a reward, just like the other players.

Still, the rewards he received had started to dwindle, and naturally, this had begun to annoy him.

There wasn’t much he could do about it now.

He had no choice but to wait for the next dungeon to generate.

When he opened his eyes in his castle, he honestly didn’t really know what to do.

Perhaps fifteen minutes had passed since he’d started thinking when he suddenly sat bolt upright and shouted, "Bloody hell!"

He immediately left his room and, grabbing a servant standing nearby, asked, "Do you know anyone who has Lady Raviel’s phone number?"

The servant shook his head and replied, "Yes, my lord, I can go and ask the Head Butler. He should have her private number on him, just in case you need to get hold of her."

Dean nodded and said, "Hurry up."

Immediately afterwards, he reached up to his face and removed the mask he had been wearing.

The servant bowed his head and left the area shortly afterwards.

As Dean was paying these people a great deal of money, and since they were hand-picked by Raviel himself, he didn’t really bother wearing a mask in their presence.

The person to whom they were loyal was, quite literally, Dean and, of course, Raviel himself.

Anyway.

Dean’s way of thinking and, most importantly, his behaviour were about to change in a short while.

The question he was going to ask Raviel would actually be quite simple.

He was wondering, just in case, whether it might be possible to speak to Nemesis in some way.

If, as he had done that day at the mansion, he could draw out his money and, thanks to the energies within it, attract the attention of the gods and goddesses, he might somehow reach Nemesis as well.

He didn’t want to believe that Apollo was clearly a bad person.

Still, he simply wanted to confirm whether his dream had been real.

His body still remembered every detail of the dream vividly, almost instinctively, and his mind kept drifting back to it.

There was perhaps a great deal he needed to learn about both the Nether and the Aether, but to be honest, what Dean needed most right now was to satisfy his curiosity directly.

By the time Head-Butler had practically run over to Dean’s side in a matter of moments, Dean had already made his way into one of the sitting rooms and had even taken a few sips of the tea the servants had brought him.

When Dean saw the beads of sweat on the Head-Butler’s face as he stood respectfully before him, he took a deep breath and said, "Sorry, old man, if it wasn’t important, I wouldn’t have made you run."

The Head Butler was someone who had worked for years in the estates of Raviel’s family, the Evergolds, and had even served Raviel himself for a time as Chief Butler.

His name was Liam. Aged 61, his hair and beard were now completely grey; he was a man who, regardless of his age, expected to be treated with the respect due to those who deserved it, and was highly skilled in sword fighting, horse riding and, in particular, history.

He was one of those classic ’English gentlemen’ often seen in films, portrayed as though they had existed in days gone by.

It would certainly be fitting to see this elderly gentleman as an elite butler.

"My lady gave us a phone so we could reach him, my lord. All you need to do is switch it on and ring him."

"Thanks, Liam," said Dean, taking the phone from the old man’s hand and switching on the switched-off device.

He then dialled the only number stored in the phone and waited for the call to be answered.

"Chk---Yes, hello, Liam? Has something happened to Dean?"

The phone was answered almost instantly, and Dean heard Raviel’s beautiful voice on the other end.

"I am fine, Raviel," Dean replied.

"Ah! Dean. I didn’t expect you to call me. Is everything alright? Was there a problem with the castle?" Raviel asked.

It was possible to hear the sounds of several people talking on the other end of the line, the rustling of a few sheets of paper, and Raviel trying to hush them.

"No, no. I was just wondering. Does your family have a portrait of Nemesis? It’s REALLY urgent," Dean had asked.

The sounds coming from the other end of the line stopped immediately as he asked the question.

Shortly afterwards, Raviel’s voice could be heard again:

"We do, Dean, but it’s in Cardigan, Wales."

"Is there any way for someone to bring it here?" Dean asked again.

"Yes, of course. I’ll do it myself, but I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to wait. I’m very busy at the moment. If you give me about two days, I should be able to bring it to you."

At Raviel’s reply, Dean smiled and then, in a slightly more energetic and cheerful tone, said, "Thank you; you can’t even imagine how much this means to me."

Dean had the authority to give them orders. He didn’t even need to make a request.

Simply because of his money and the background he was thought to have, no one could openly interfere with him.

Still, Dean didn’t want to be that sort of person.

Building genuine connections was more important, wasn’t it?

"Of course, please don’t worry about it. I’ll see you soon," said Raviel.

When that beautiful voice finally fell silent, the phone call had ended, and Dean had saved Raviel’s number to his own phone.

He then handed the phone Liam had given him back to him and added, "Liam, use my bank account and get me a very good computer, and a very good phone as well."

When he looked at his own phone, he could see.

Even though he had the power to possess all the money in the world, he was still using an old-model phone.

There was no need to even mention his computer.

It was a bit... funny.
