I Conquer Hell and Heaven With 666 Trillion Coins
Chapter 50: A Known FaceBefore Percival could even react, the woman had leapt straight at Dean, whilst the young man had managed to press the button on the Pocket Watch at that very moment:
"tick..."
A faint, silent sound had emerged.
"CHING!!!"
The woman’s sword had struck the shield that had formed around Dean.
Percival sprang into action at that very moment:
A muted ’schlk’ cut through the silence, more like driving a blade into a person’s flesh. It was almost purely metallic.
It was Percival. He had thrust his sword right into the woman’s kidney and managed to free his blade by slicing through her body.
The woman collapsed to the ground in an instant.
As she died right there, Dean had tried to inspect the condition of his shield.
The surface she had attacked was completely riddled with cracks. It seemed as though perhaps just 5% of her strength could have shattered the shield instantly.
Had the woman possessed even a little more strength and been able to apply it, Dean would now be lying on the ground, dead.
The young man took a deep breath and began to look around once more.
Percival was standing close enough to him, yet at a sufficient distance not to hinder his actions.
"BOOM!"
Another explosion had occurred in the distance.
With this explosion, a massive surge of energy spread outwards.
Dean could sense the Holy Power coming towards him and realised that the Holy Power and Mana within his body were practically going haywire.
The sky was literally ablaze.
There was simply no other way to describe it.
The sky was on fire.
Flames were advancing towards the earth, piercing through the clouds in the sky.
The sun itself was blended with the colour of crimson fire.
Light could only exist thanks to the flames. It was like a battlefield where the eye could scarcely make out anything.
Dean couldn’t work out what to do.
He really couldn’t see a thing. He’d never encountered such a dreadful environment before.
Percival, however, would be the one to bring him back to reality.
"MASTER!!!"
At Percival’s shout, Dean turned towards him and saw his servant pointing towards an area.
When he looked in the direction Percival was pointing, he saw a handful of people waving their arms at him.
That was enough for Dean.
Perhaps he was heading for the enemy camp, but at least he’d managed to spot a place he could go to.
Before Dean could even think of running, Percival had literally scooped him up into his arms and started running, but things weren’t going to be that easy.
Within mere seconds, they’d come across two more angels.
Percival chose not to put his master, Dean, down and, knowing full well he would take damage, opted to press on whilst evading the angels.
Dean’s safety was, naturally, far more important to him than anything else.
Just as it should be.
Still, Dean wasn’t stupid.
He could see that Percival was taking such a risk to act.
That was precisely why he’d touched the Pocket Watch again and pressed the button:
"tick—"
A shield formed around the pair, but Dean didn’t stop there; knowing full well that the shield would most likely shatter under two attacks, he activated his Moon’s Rope item.
Whilst clinging to Percival with one hand, he had unleashed Moon’s Rope with the other, drawing upon both the Mana and Holy Power within his body.
"SLOP!!!"
Moon’s Rope had caught hold of one of the blood-soaked angels, and the revolting sound of flowing blood had echoed out.
At the same time, Dean moved his arm, and as the angel bound by the rope was already held fast by it, it was being dragged along behind them, he suddenly rose into the air.
When Dean brought his arm down towards the ground, the rope had pinned the angel he was holding firmly to the ground.
"CHONG!!!"
It sounded just like the clang of a bell.
The other angel’s strike had hit the shield directly, but perhaps because it wasn’t powerful enough, the attack had ricocheted off the shield.
It was just like when Percival had attacked.
Moon’s Rope had swung back, attempting to wrap itself around Dean’s arm once more, but Dean had shaken it off again; this time, however, he had managed to hold onto it.
Percival stopped dead in his tracks and, whilst holding Dean with one arm, drew his sword from his spirit realm and instantly launched an attack straight at the angel’s head.
"SLICE!!!"
A thick, slicing sound rang out as Percival’s sword sliced through the bone in the angel’s neck, severing its head clean off.
Dean smiled and shouted, "COME ON, PERCIVAL, RUN!!!"
The moment Percival planted his feet on the ground after his attack, it was as if his soles were ablaze.
He leapt forward in an instant and began to run even faster than before.
It was as if his master Dean’s words had given him courage.
After what felt like a two-minute run, the pair had finally reached the area they were looking for.
"COME ON, JUMP IN!!!" shouted someone at the front.
Percival leapt instantly and jumped over the slightly tall wall at the front.
The very moment he did so, the front line had been sealed off by a massive barrier extending perhaps five metres beyond its edge.
Dean, meanwhile, immediately began looking around.
Those who saw him were utterly astonished.
"The Man who Wears the Mist," said one of them.
When Dean turned towards the person who had spoken, he could not believe his eyes.
The side of his jaw had suffered tissue and nerve damage from the wounds, and that area had now become completely bald. His jet-black hair and brown eyes looked utterly exhausted, and every visible part of his body was covered in wounds.
Dean remembered this man very clearly.
"You..." Dean had muttered suddenly.
He had seen this man a VERY long time ago.
Two months ago, when he first entered Cosmic Terror, it was that man, the one with the rough appearance, who had spoken first in the dungeon.
He was one of the few survivors in the dungeon.
When Dean saw the man’s face, he could tell that the man was far more surprised than he was.
Those around them, however, were busy trying to make sense of what was happening.
Yet none of them had any idea what was about to happen in a matter of seconds.
