I Reincarnated As A Dragon With A Devourer System
Chapter 34: Strange DiscoveryT
The strange manna snow continued to fall slowly as Noir read the description of the plant he had just discovered.
It wasn’t a miraculous plant.
But it was the first one that actually helped heal wounds.
’It’s a shame I don’t have an inventory; it would be a waste to devour all these plants.’
The little black dragon looked at the white wolf and pointed at the plant with a claw.
"Gruur..."
The pup looked at him with complete innocence; he started chasing a snowflake of mana, completely ignoring Noir.
’Just what I needed: I try to be nice, and that jerk ignores me. God, what did I do to deserve such punishment?’
The golden sphere began to spin around Noir.
’Don’t laugh.’
The sphere flashed several times in quick succession.
’It’s not funny.’
The little dragon decided not to make a big deal out of it; there was no point in playing along with his magnificent and kind companion.
He continued walking among the white trees until he came upon a small cluster of plants with bluish leaves.
He activated his unique ability, Devourer, and swallowed the plant whole. The improvement in his body was immediate.
The familiar status windows appeared again, displaying new information.

[Frostvine Herb]
A mana-rich herb that grows beneath ethereal snowfall. Gradually reduces inflammation and slightly accelerates the healing of muscle injuries.
’Oh, this is really good; it’ll come in handy.’
Noir examined the plant carefully; it was just what he needed, especially after a fight.
Then he felt as if something were sniffing his tail; the little dragon nearly jumped out of his skin and turned his head quickly.
’What the hell are you doing!?’
The puppy just twitched one ear and slowly turned its head, as if it didn’t understand what was going on; its eyes sparkled like those of an innocent child.
Then it sniffed him again.
’Hey! Respect my personal space!’
The pup approached again.
This time, it nudged him gently with its snout.
Noir lost his balance and... fell face-first into the mana snow.
’...’
The little wolf immediately backed away. Its ears drooped... It looked remorseful.
However, his so-called best friend, the golden sphere, was spinning around as if it were having the best day of its entire life.
Noir slowly raised his head. Several white specks had stuck to his snout.
’Did you just apologize to me?’
The puppy wagged its tail once.
Just once.
The puppy tilted its head with the same innocent expression.
’...’
’Well.’
’I wasn’t expecting that.’
The little dragon cleared his throat with as much dignity as he could muster, deliberately ignoring the fact that the golden orb was spinning wildly once again.
’I’ll take that as an apology.’
The cub wagged his tail a couple of times before continuing on his way as if nothing had happened.
Noir shook his head and continued walking behind the golden sphere. That place was far too interesting to waste time thinking about a wolf that was licking its way to forgiveness.
As they walked, the mana snow continued to fall slowly over the white forest.
It wasn’t a quiet place.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
A completely transparent rabbit was resting on one of the logs.
Its body looked as if it were made of liquid crystal, and inside it, tiny strands of blue manna could be seen running through each of its limbs.
Upon sensing the group’s presence, the rabbit perked up its long ears.
A second later... He vanished.
He didn’t run away.
He exploded into a cloud of tiny, glowing particles that the wind scattered among the trees.
Noir blinked several times.
’...’
’I’m not even going to try to make sense of this place anymore.’
As the days went by in the magical valley, he came across something new and completely surreal.
Noir even discovered a completely transparent lake where several brightly colored fish were swimming... in the air.
Not in the water.
On top of it.
They were jumping slowly, as if gravity had decided to take a back seat.
The pup watched them for several seconds as well.
Then it tried to catch them; it made a spectacular leap, worthy of a predator of its kind, but... it missed and fell into the water.
Splash!
It only poked its head out a few seconds later, with a deeply offended expression.
Noir burst out laughing.
’HAHAHAHA! Now that’s for sure—you’re definitely the best hunter I’ve ever met!’
The little wolf responded by shaking his whole body.
Thousands of droplets flew everywhere; quite a few landed right on Noir.
’...’
The dragon was completely soaked.
The cub looked at him and wagged its tail.
And the little black dragon swore he’d just seen it smile.
’You...’
’You did that on purpose.’
They kept walking.
Shortly afterward, they came across a family of little crystal deer.
Their bodies looked as if they were carved from translucent quartz, and beneath the surface, tiny lights could be seen moving like dragonflies.
The fawn took a step toward them.
The little deer raised their heads at the same time.
Then... they ran off.
With every step he took, tiny ice flowers made of mana appeared, only to vanish a few seconds later.
Noir watched the phenomenon, completely fascinated.
’This place really does feel like another world.’
A little further on, the little dragon discovered something even stranger.
What looked like a huge fallen log began to move slowly. Two enormous legs emerged from beneath the bark; then two more.
Finally, huge green eyes appeared, hidden among the moss.
It was a turtle.
A turtle whose back had turned into a small garden. Bushes, flowers, and even a tiny tree laden with blue fruits grew on its shell.
The creature didn’t even look at them.
It simply kept walking with absolute calm while several butterflies of light fluttered around its back.
The days began to blur into one another.
They discovered new plants every morning.
New animals every afternoon.
New landscapes every time they followed the sphere.
Without realizing it, they had already spent more than ten days exploring part of the Magic Valley.
In addition, the encyclopedia he was compiling kept growing; it wasn’t just plants—he had also added the monsters he had devoured, including those from the cave where he had been reincarnated.
The little black dragon was very pleased with his exploration; there was always something new to discover.
As they continued, Noir plucked another plant growing among some rocks.
He devoured it almost out of habit.
The window appeared immediately.

[Skyroot Moss]
A floating moss sustained by condensed ambient mana. Slowly restores stamina and reduces physical fatigue after prolonged movement.
Noir’s eyes sparkled.
’Perfect for long trips.’
Without a second thought, he pulled out several more tufts.
The puppy watched him for a few seconds. Then he did the same thing.
He pulled out a bit of moss, sniffed it, and then bit into it. And he spat it all out immediately while frantically flicking his tongue.
Noir burst out laughing.
’HAHAHA! Of course! Not everything green is edible, genius!’
He turned around to continue exploring and froze in his tracks, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
’No way.’
Several hundred meters away, partially hidden by white trees and crystalline vines... There was a house.
It’s not a ruin or the remains of a building. It’s a real wooden house, with a sloping roof and glass windows.
Right in the middle of the Magic Valley!
Noir felt his brain go blank for a few seconds.
’Who on earth built a house here?’
