Immortal Travel of Longevity

Chapter 1315: An Eye-Opening Experience

Chen Changsheng stayed on the mountain for two days. True Man Luoxia acted like a student, asking him about farming and agriculture.

Chen Changsheng told True Man Luoxia everything he knew.

True Man Luoxia originally wanted to engage in a discourse on the Dao to express her gratitude for his teachings.

But once they began, she realized her understanding of the Dao fell short of the man before her. Instead, she ended up gaining a tremendous amount of insight herself.

This left True Man Luoxia deeply ashamed.

After some thought, she lent him her own cultivation method to read.

Chen Changsheng did not decline her goodwill. He looked it over and thanked her repeatedly.

Only then did True Man Luoxia finally feel at ease.

Later, however, the Yin-Yang Qi that Chen Changsheng emitted with a raise of his hand caught True Man Luoxia's attention.

True Man Luoxia realized then how ridiculous she had been, and that this man who had ascended her mountain was no ordinary figure.

"Fellow Daoist, your Dao Cultivation is profound. May I ask where you practice your Cultivation?"

Chen Changsheng replied, "In my early years, I practiced Cultivation in the Mortal World. It is only recently that I have started traveling the Cultivation World."

"I see..."

True Man Luoxia listened and said, "If there is anything this poor Daoist can do for you, Fellow Daoist, just say the word."

Chen Changsheng was about to decline, but after a moment's thought, he did recall a matter.

"There is actually one matter I would like to ask your help with."

"Oh?"

Chen Changsheng took out the Geographical Maps he had partially drawn.

"This is..."

True Man Luoxia murmured, "Geographical Maps?"

Chen Changsheng nodded. "Indeed, these are the Geographical Maps drawn by This Chen. I travel the world with nothing to do, so I thought I might try to draw a complete map. You have lived here a long time, True Man, and must understand this region better than This Chen. Could you assist me?"

True Man Luoxia was startled. "Does Fellow Daoist know how vast the Cultivation World is?"

"Naturally."

Chen Changsheng smiled. "But even the path of life has an end, so why worry about the vastness of the land? There will come a day when I finish walking it."

Filled with admiration, True Man Luoxia cupped her hands. "This poor Daoist cannot match your ambition, Fellow Daoist. I am willing to offer my meager assistance."

With True Man Luoxia's help, many details on the Geographical Maps were fleshed out. This delighted Chen Changsheng, but it also made him realize that a single person was ultimately not enough.

Chen Changsheng thought for a moment and asked, "Would it be alright to mark Rosy Cloud Mountain on these Geographical Maps?"

True Man Luoxia smiled. "My Rosy Cloud Mountain has no enemies, so naturally you may."

The two of them had a wonderful conversation, but Chen Changsheng could not stay long. After spending roughly five days there, he bid farewell to the three people in the temple.

True Man Luoxia said, "You have countless mountains and rivers ahead of you on this journey, Fellow Daoist. I wish you smooth sailing. May you achieve your heart's desire and walk the entire world."

"I borrow the True Man's auspicious words." Chen Changsheng returned a bow.

Chen Lingyun said, "Senior Chen, if the chance arises, I will treat you to wine again."

"Definitely."

Chen Changsheng smiled and walked down the mountain.

Chen Lingyun struggled to return to her senses. She stared at his retreating back, still in a daze.

She stood there until Chen Changsheng's figure vanished from her sight.

Only then did she murmur, "What a wonderful man."

True Man Luoxia knocked her on the head and said, "Disciple, do not overthink. The difference between Fellow Daoist Chen and us is like clouds and mud. His heart is in the heavens, the earth, nature, and the myriad mountains and rivers; he is not someone you or I can reach."

Chen Lingyun rubbed her head. "Master, impossible is impossible, but you can at least let your disciple think about it."

True Man Luoxia smiled helplessly and poked her head. "Think about it, then. But no matter how much you think, he is not yours."

"Ah, Master..."

Chen Lingyun rubbed her forehead and gave her Master a reproachful look.

This figure left a faint mark in her life, but it remained fresh in her memory, so much so that her standards were raised significantly because of it.

To meet Changsheng is to be ruined for life—it was more or less this principle.

...

After leaving Rosy Cloud Mountain, Chen Changsheng went to many other places.

He saw mountains towering into the clouds.

He had intended to climb up and admire the scenery, only to find upon ascending the mountain that he had intruded upon someone's mountain gate.

"Fellow Daoist, for what reason have you intruded upon my Immortal Mountain?"

Being caught made Chen Changsheng quite embarrassed. He quickly said, "This Chen did not know this mountain had an owner. Wandering in was entirely unintentional. Please forgive me."

The Daoist smiled and said, "Fellow Daoist must be joking. We merely borrow this mountain for Cultivation; we cannot be called its masters. Since you have come, it is fate. Please, come in and talk."

Seeing this, Chen Changsheng stepped forward and was invited into the temple by the Daoist.

This mountain was named Bright Moon, and the temple was also Bright Moon.

The mountain was named because of the temple, and the temple was built because of the Daoists.

Within the Daoist temple were a total of seven people. They were all top-tier cultivators. The weakest among them was in the Deity Transformation Realm, while the rest were all Dongxu.

"The seven of us poor Daoists met while wandering in our early years. Later, we grew weary of the secular world, so we hid ourselves in this mountain to live freely."

Chen Changsheng could not help but sigh in admiration. "Could it be that the seven of you gathered here from the Five Lakes and Four Seas?"

The seven exchanged glances and said, "It is much as you say. However, when you speak of the five lakes and Four Seas, Priest, which five lakes and which Four Seas do you mean? We do not understand."

"Oh..."

Chen Changsheng realized his slip and explained, "You may not know, but This Chen comes from the Mortal World. Some phrases are naturally a bit different, so please forgive me."

"From the Mortal World?"

The seven of them immediately became interested.

"Fellow Daoist, you truly possess great perseverance to have walked out of the desolate land of the Red Dust!"

"Yes, exactly! In the past, I also wanted to visit the Mortal World to take a look, but just hearing the rumors made me fear my dao heart would shatter, and I dared not go forward."

"How did you make it here, Fellow Daoist?"

"Fellow Daoist..."

The seven of them had different questions. Surrounded by them, Chen Changsheng was momentarily unable to answer.

Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Chen Changsheng said, "Fellow Daoists, could we take it one by one? This Chen cannot even hear clearly."

The group exchanged glances and could not help but laugh out loud.

"Forgive our abruptness."

"No rush for questions. Fellow Daoist, I have fine wine stored for three hundred years here. The flavor is extraordinary. Please, have a taste."

"Wait, if we have wine, we naturally must have dishes to go with it. Watch me."

One of the Daoists raised a hand and pointed toward a white cloud on the horizon.

"Come..."

Hooking two fingers, a white cloud drifted over, shrinking continuously until it landed in the Daoist's palm.

He held it out before them to show it off.

Clicking his tongue in wonder, Chen Changsheng said, "I do not know what a cloud tastes like."

"Have a taste, Fellow Daoist, and you will know."

Chen Changsheng took it into his mouth and chewed carefully, only to feel surprised. "It actually has a strange fragrance? How is this so?"

"Hahaha..."

One of them finally explained, "Do not be fooled by him, Fellow Daoist. How could a normal cloud have flavor? That is a captive cloud he raises. He smokes it with medicinal herbs to give it a unique fragrance, making it a dish to pair with wine."

Returning to his senses, Chen Changsheng could not help but murmur, "This truly is... an eye-opening experience..."
