Heavy flakes of snow drifted down.

They fell so thickly they blotted out the blazing sun. A biting wind swept past, making people shiver.

In the distance, a Bureau of Celestial Mandate official cried out at the sight.

His eyes went wide as he threw his arms up and shouted, "An anomaly of heaven and earth! An anomaly of heaven and earth!"

Freezing air swept in, and the surface of the lake gradually froze over, coated in a layer of frost.

"Whoosh..."

The frigid wind and driving snow howled past.

It stung as it whipped against their faces.

Ping'an reached up and touched his cheek.

"Careful!"

Realizing the danger, Ruyi quickly stood up.

Channeling blood vigor into her palms, she shielded Ping'an behind her and struck out, scattering the incoming flurries.

Mo Yuan looked up and pointed a finger. A golden light rose, completely shielding them from the driving snow.

Ruyi breathed a sigh of relief.

Chen Changsheng furrowed his brows, gazing up at the pavilion.

At this moment, the demons brawling on the pavilion had paused to marvel at the celestial anomaly. The sudden blizzard left them bewildered.

"Why is it snowing...?"

Snow falling at Huaixu was a truly rare sight.

While they were caught completely off guard, the willow-like flakes quietly drifted in.

With a series of soft tears, their clothes were sliced open. Every patch of exposed skin was slashed by the flying snow, leaving fine cuts behind.

Someone stared at a drifting snowflake as it fluttered toward them.

In an instant, it slipped right into his eyes.

His eyes snapped wide. Suddenly, fresh blood streamed from the sockets.

A bloodcurdling scream snapped everyone out of their daze.

"Ahhh!"

On the pavilion, the screaming man clutched his eyes, the blood pouring from them dyeing his hands crimson.

"Whoosh."

"It's the snow!"

Someone screamed in warning, but before the crowd could react—

The dense flurry of snow came howling down upon them.

"Slash..."

Amidst the driving blizzard, the snow-capped pavilion was swiftly painted red with blood. A touch of crimson fell across the pristine white expanse, looking almost like a Painted Scroll.

Long Rong looked up at the scene but made no move to stop it. She merely cast an extra glance at the two sisters.

"So they are spirits of heaven and earth. No wonder..."

This was fine as well. These two sisters had saved her a great deal of trouble.

The culprits behind the massacre currently stood atop the sweeping ridge of the pavilion's roof.

Of the two women, one looked playful, while the other seemed completely aloof. Dressed in white skirts, they almost blended into the swirling snow.

Screams echoed one after another.

"Close your eyes! Close your eyes!"

But that was hardly a solution.

People quickly realized they simply couldn't escape the relentless snow.

"Run!"

Terrified, some simply leaped off the pavilion and plunged into the lake to escape the deadly flurries.

The pavilion was soon littered with corpses that dropped in eerie silence. In their final moments, many reverted to their true forms.

Yet, some still stood on the pavilion, entirely unfazed by the deadly snow.

"A bit itchy..."

The Old Ox from Shangjing City scratched his neck. The drifting snow failed to leave even a scratch on him.

"Why'd everybody die?"

The Old Ox looked around in bewilderment, not quite grasping what had happened.

Atop the roof ridge, the two women decided that was enough and stopped.

The swirling snow instantly ceased.

"Sister, so many of them died."

"Yes."

"They were all bad demons anyway, hee hee."

Still chatting, the two women lightly touched down onto the pavilion.

"Hey there, you two lasses!"

The Old Ox looked at them and asked, "How did all these folks die?"

The younger sister covered her mouth with a giggle and said, "My sister and I killed them, of course."

The Old Ox blinked in surprise. "You killed them?"

He didn't quite believe it.

The older sister remained completely impassive. Her gaze swept the area, noting they were the only three left on the pavilion.

"We came a bit too early..."

Her chilling voice drifted through the air.

The Old Ox scratched his head and asked, "What's too early?"

It was a full twenty-seven incense sticks' worth of time. It was impossible that only the four of them would be left at the end. The ones killed by the snow just now were nothing more than small fry. There were still many lurking in the shadows who hadn't revealed themselves.

Figuring the time was right, Long Rong uncoiled her body and spoke up.

"Have you all watched enough?"

The moment her words faded, a burst of uproarious laughter echoed from the peak of Lake Mountain.

"Hahaha, what a fierce little snake!"

A bare-chested demon wearing a Bronze Bell around his neck plummeted from the mountaintop.

Long Rong frowned at his words.

Opening her jaws, she spat out a blast of scorching fire.

The falling figure simply raised a hand. Demonic Power rippled outward, snuffing out the flames.

"Boom!"

The figure landed. He had a massive, fat head, large ears, and a protruding belly.

The aura radiating from him, however, felt unfamiliar to Long Rong.

"You aren't a demon of the Mortal World!"

The demon's lips curled into a smirk. "Good eye."

Over on the shore, Mo Yuan had noticed something.

"This demon..."

He couldn't be more familiar with the aura on this demon's body.

Chen Changsheng stared at the demon, his brows knitted in a frown.

Ruyi asked, "What kind of demon is this?"

Mo Yuan replied, "A fat pig. And one that broke out of a cage, no less."

"Huh?" Ruyi asked. "Brother Mo, do you know this demon?"

"I don't."

But Mo Yuan could sense the aura on this pig demon.

It was tainted with the aura of evil spirits, and it didn't belong here.

Sure enough...

These evil spirits truly could never be wiped out.

"Zhu Wuneng!"

A furious shout rang out.

A howling wind immediately followed.

A streak of golden light fell, and a figure suddenly materialized on the pavilion.

The massive, fat-eared demon scowled at the newcomer. "Why are you everywhere?"

Tu Hu scoffed. "I should have slaughtered you back then."

Zhu Wuneng glared at him and scoffed. "You killed my king! One day, I'll make you pay in blood!"

Tu Hu laughed. "I'll be waiting."

But now wasn't the time.

Yan Zi flew down, landing on the pavilion and revealing his figure.

He cupped his hands. "Yan Qun greets you all."

A forest deer then came bounding across the water. With a light leap, it landed on the pavilion and transformed into a woman. She swept her gaze across the crowd but did not speak.

Long Rong's frown deepened at the sight.

"You are not demons of the Mortal World. Why have you come to our realm?"

Tu Hu shifted his gaze to Long Rong, killing intent flashing in his eyes.

Long Rong felt a jolt in her chest. For a fleeting moment, she almost heard the cries of slaughter.

Zhu Wuneng scoffed. "None of your business!"

Long Rong was about to attack when yet another figure appeared.

It was the Little Beggar.

The Little Beggar dragged himself out of the water and climbed onto the pavilion.

"Eh?"

The Little Beggar shook the water from his sodden clothes and asked, "What's going on? Are you going to fight?"

Xue Dong stared at the Little Beggar. "Oh my, what's a mortal doing here?"

The Little Beggar grinned. "Are mortals not allowed?"

He paused. "Oh, that's right. I think there's one more."

Just then, the sound of footsteps treading on water rang out.

A figure stepped lightly onto the railing, flipped through the air, and landed smoothly on the roof of the pavilion.

Shangguan Ningjing cupped his hands. "Swordsman of the Mortal World, Shangguan Ningjing, greets you all."
