The gray void of the twentieth floor finally quieted down, leaving behind only the shattered space.

Victor stood alone in the vast darkness, his crimson-gold armor gleaming beneath the faint light of the arena. His wings fluttered gently behind him as the Arch Demon Transformation slowly dispersed.

"Do you want to challenge the next floor?"

Victor was about to raise his hand and accept.

The thirst for power and the allure of higher-floor rewards pushed him forward. Every floor of the tower yielded techniques and spells that were beyond the comprehension of ordinary mages in his home cosmos.

Reaching the twenty-first floor seemed like the natural choice.

Then, a sudden and violent chill ran straight down his spine.

It was not physical cold.

Nor was it a spatial attack from the tower.

It was a primordial warning coming directly from the deepest part of his instincts.

Every cell in his body screamed at him to stop.

It felt as though an invisible and terrifying force was hovering just outside his field of perception, waiting for him to push his limits just a fraction further before snapping its jaws shut.

Victor froze.

His eyes narrowed as he listened to that subtle yet lethal intuition.

He had survived countless deadly encounters by trusting this exact instinct.

"No, I would like to withdraw for now," Victor said calmly.

Above the Resource Tower, the supreme beings watching the projection were struck dumb.

The sudden halt left them staring at the projection in absolute silence.

"Why did he suddenly withdraw?" one of the ancient beings muttered, his massive eyes blinking in confusion.

"Maybe he is unable to maintain the Black Hole-rank spell anymore?" another suggested, leaning forward to inspect the lingering mana traces around Victor. "A spell of that magnitude drains an unimaginable amount of energy. His body probably reached its absolute limit."

The thunderous ancient being heaved a massive sigh of relief.

The heavy, oppressive aura surrounding his gigantic form relaxed significantly.

"So he is just a slightly bigger ant. Nothing to fear about," he thought to himself.

With a subtle flick of his hand, he stopped the ancient soul-burning curse power he had secretly begun channeling.

Deep within the void, a dark and terrifying spell that had been slowly weaving its way across dimensions dissipated into nothingness.

If the human was not as monstrous as he had initially thought, and if his power was merely a temporary burst that had forced him to retreat, then there was no need to waste such precious Origin Energy casting a long-distance curse into an unknown rogue universe.

The space around Victor warped.

The scenery of the twentieth floor dissolved into a cascade of gray light.

A second later, his feet touched the solid stone platform at the base of the Resource Tower.

As soon as he stepped out of the portal, he saw Dublin waiting nearby.

The short goblin was pacing back and forth nervously.

"So? How did it go?" Dublin asked, practically bouncing on his short legs like an anxious mother.

The green goblin looked thoroughly comical, with his oversized robe dragging across the floor and his ears twitching at every tiny sound.

"Not bad," Victor replied lightly.

He adjusted his tunic and started walking casually toward the bustling marketplace of the virtual realm.

"Which floor did you ascend to?" Dublin asked, jogging slightly to keep pace with Victor’s long strides.

"Not much. Just the twentieth floor," Victor replied, maintaining his steady pace.

"Huh!"

Dublin stopped instantly.

His feet skidded across the smooth floor as he stared at Victor’s back in complete silence.

Three full seconds passed.

Then he let out a loud, awkward laugh.

"That was a good one, bro. Now tell me seriously, which floor?" Dublin asked again, rushing up beside him with a nervous grin.

Victor did not reply this time.

He simply turned his head slightly and gave the goblin a quiet, mysterious smile.

Dublin’s eyes widened.

The green pigment on his face almost seemed to pale as realization struck him like a physical blow.

"You were not joking?" Dublin gasped, his voice cracking. "Holy shit! What kind of monster are you? The last time someone reached the twentieth floor was three hundred years ago, and he was a renowned prodigy from a well-known cosmos!"

Dublin went crazy, wildly gesturing with his hands as though trying to measure the sheer absurdity of Victor’s achievement.

"It was okay," Victor said smoothly. "Now, do not make a fuss and do not attract attention. Tell me something. If I buy something from here, how will it be delivered to my real body?"

Dublin swallowed hard, forcibly trying to regain his composure as he walked beside the terrifying young man.

"That is easy," Dublin stammered. "The items will be delivered to you through the automated inter-realm portal system. As for how it actually works on a spatial level, I do not know. Only the top realm managers have access to that ancient spatial array."

"Then let us go and buy something," Victor thought to himself.

Before they could take another step, a small blur of light detached itself from the crowd above and landed softly on Victor’s shoulder.

Astrion had returned from its own exploration of the tower’s side markets.

"Master, did you have fun?" Astrion asked, its small spirit body bouncing happily on his shoulder.

"Yeah. What about you?" Victor asked, glancing sideways at his companion.

"I found some rare treasures," Astrion replied, fluffing its small spirit form proudly. "And it only cost me one drop of Chaos Essence. It is a supreme treasure for building the inner world."

Dublin stopped in his tracks for the second time.

His mouth hung open so wide that it looked as though his jaw might unhinge entirely.

"What did you say? You have Chaos Essence?" Dublin squeaked, his voice reaching a pitched whine.

"Yeah," Victor replied casually, not even pausing his walk.

"Bro, no, big boss, no, daddy, please adopt me! Give me a drop of Chaos Essence and I will lick your toes!" Dublin yelled.

He instantly dropped to his knees and slid across the floor toward Victor’s boots.

"Eww, gross. Get lost," Victor said, feeling thoroughly cringed out as he sidestepped the desperate goblin.

Despite the rejection, Dublin scrambled back to his feet and continued following him like a loyal, shameless dog.

His eyes sparkled with pure greed and awe.

"Big shot, why don’t I introduce you to some important people?" Dublin said, rubbing his hands together pleadingly. "They really have good stuff to sell. High-grade artifacts, ancient records, anything you want."

"Well, I would have loved to," Victor replied, stopping near the exit zone of the virtual space. "But it is time to leave. I have other things to do in my world."

With a simple thought, Victor initiated the logout command.

A soft white light enveloped his figure and Astrion.

A moment later, both of them vanished completely into thin air, leaving no trace of their presence behind.

Dublin stood alone in the crowded square, staring at the empty spot where Victor had been standing just a second earlier.

"Who was he?" Dublin muttered to himself, his eyebrows furrowing in deep confusion. "How can someone like that belong to a rogue universe? Did he lie to me about his background?"

Meanwhile, far away across countless dimensions, Victor’s consciousness returned smoothly to his physical body.

The low hum of the virtual connection faded, replaced by the familiar sounds of his room.

Before he could even stretch his legs, a loud thud echoed from the wooden door.

"Victor, open the door. It is time to go shopping!"

It was his mother’s lively voice calling from the hallway.

Victor stood up from his bed and opened the door.

His mood was exceptionally good.

During his short time in the Resource Tower, he had managed to secure a truly remarkable reward from the floor-clearing options.

He had found a manual named Chaos Body Refining.

It was an exclusive technique designed specifically for Chaos Body holders. It allowed the practitioner to gradually comprehend the Law of Chaos while slowly unlocking the deep, innate seals binding their physical potential.

"Are you two ready?" Victor asked as he stepped out into the hallway.

"Yeah, we are ready. Come if you are ready," Noelle said, leaning against the stair railing while holding several empty shopping bags.

"Sure, let us go," Victor said with a warm smile.

It was his first time going shopping with his mother and sister since all the strange and chaotic events had transformed his life.

Deep down, he felt genuinely happy to experience a normal, peaceful moment with his family.

Soon, the three of them went downstairs, stepped into their vehicle, and drove directly toward the central district of Aurora City.

The city was bustling with activity, its high-rise glass towers gleaming brightly beneath the afternoon sun.

They arrived at the grandest shopping complex in the region, a massive multi-story mall filled with luxury boutiques, high-end clothing brands, and gourmet cafes.

They parked the car and walked inside through the grand entrance.

The moment they stepped through the glass doors, his mother and sister immediately became busy with shopping.

They moved from one high-end store to another with seemingly endless energy, picking out dresses, shoes, and accessories.

Victor, on the other hand, quickly became their designated handyman, carrying an ever-growing stack of colorful bags and boxes.

Despite the physical clutter in his hands, he was quite happy to do it.

Seeing the genuine smiles on his mother’s and sister’s faces brought him a sense of grounded peace that no ancient tower battle could ever provide.

After an hour had passed, they had already accumulated a huge collection of purchases.

Yet, judging by the enthusiastic look in Noelle’s eyes as she dragged their mother toward another floor, this was clearly only the beginning of their trip.

Victor walked a few paces behind them, holding six large bags in his left hand and three boxes under his right arm.

He laughed softly to himself at the sheer contrast between fighting cosmic behemoths and navigating a crowded department store.

Suddenly, a sharp and crisp voice sounded directly inside his mind, cutting through the ambient noise of the shopping mall.

"Master, an abyss portal has been opened on Earth," Astrion notified him urgently from within his spiritual space.

Victor’s smile faded slightly.

His eyes turned cold as his heightened senses immediately locked onto the subtle shift in the planetary atmosphere.
