No matter how tense the situation became, it didn’t seem to faze Song Jianguo, who was a bit out of it. She just reached out, touched the blue rabbit’s short tail, and asked in surprise, "So, which one of you is Haozi?"

The blue rabbit watched the red, scythe-wielding monster drawing attention in the distant sky and slowly shook his head. "We don’t know. Perhaps we all are, or perhaps none of us are. We were only supposed to exist in Zhang Wenda’s mind. We shouldn’t be in the real world."

Suddenly, a cluster of thought materialized beside the blue rabbit. "So, I have reason to suspect that this ’tide of thought’ contains a part of the Spiritual World. That must be why we can manifest from imagination into reality."

Just then, the mountain-sized Immortal amalgam in the distance seemed to sense the abnormal energy fluctuations coming from Shuisheng’s position. It immediately abandoned the annoying scythe monster and charged toward Shuisheng.

The blue rabbit commanded, "Help Shuisheng. Stop it."

Stomping hard on the cluster of thought with his backward-jointed right leg, the hollow Zhang Wenda launched himself toward the monster’s head.

However, no matter how fast his attacks or how sharp his scythe, his reach was too short. To the still-gargantuan monster, it was nothing more than a tickle.

’I need a weapon! A weapon powerful enough to actually threaten this thing’s existence!’ Zhang Wenda screamed in his mind.

"I’ve got one! Catch!" Song Jianguo’s shout came from behind him.

Zhang Wenda instinctively turned to look and saw a massive black axe tumbling through the air toward him. It was a giant axe, nearly five meters long, formed from the Black Cats, its blade coated in a thick layer of death.

He caught the weapon, his hands gripping the handle firmly. Then, vaulting off a cluster of thought, he roared and brought the axe down with all his might, aiming for the Immortal’s massive golden halo.

It was only this close that Zhang Wenda realized the creature was also emitting clusters of thought. He grew even more certain that this place was connected to the Spiritual World.

The moment the death on the axe blade touched the monster’s body, it sliced through like a hot knife through butter, carving a massive gash straight down its form. Golden divine blood gushed from the wound.

The massive wound caused the various heads of the Immortals making up the monster’s body to cry out in pained wails, forcing it to halt its attack on Shuisheng.

Seeing their master in danger, the eight golden dragons adorning Zhang Wenda’s body abandoned him. They flew to the massive wound, intertwining with one another in an attempt to stitch the gushing gash closed.

Zhang Wenda wasn’t about to let them have their way. He charged forward and swung again, aiming to slice the creature in two.

As seven or eight of the monster’s fingers formed a hand seal and pointed sharply at the sky, a bolt of purple lightning shot down directly at Zhang Wenda.

"Come on! Bring it on!" Zhang Wenda taunted, leaping between clusters of thought in mid-air as more purple lightning bolts rained down. He dodged frantically, cutting a sorry figure, but he knew he had succeeded. He had drawn the creature’s full attention.

As thunder rumbled and a bolt of black lightning began to form in the sky, Shuisheng and his teammates froze. Their flashlights, now perfectly still, formed a complex star chart with their beams.

The moment the Tri-Cores on their arms were rapidly and completely depleted, the dozen or so flashlights flared simultaneously. At their peak brightness, they seemed to suck in all surrounding light, plunging the entire tide of thought into absolute darkness.

Zhang Wenda didn’t know what happened in the darkness. When his vision returned, he saw that the fused Immortal monster had been stripped of all its color.

Its white horsetail whisk, its golden sun-wheel halo, even its red flames—everything had turned a desiccated gray. Cracking fissures snaked from its edges toward its core.

Zhang Wenda was utterly astonished. To think a single blow could devastate the monster to this extent.

’Damn, the Third Line is something else,’ Zhang Wenda thought. ’They have a move like this? If it didn’t require so many people, I’d want to learn it myself.’ He kicked off that newly formed thought with his right foot, launching himself higher into the air.

Between the massive wound and the attack from Shuisheng’s team, the giant, fused monster seemed to be running on fumes. It swayed unsteadily before toppling backward.

With an earth-shattering tremor, the colossal monster crashed to the ground. Its gray, desiccated body shattered on impact.

"Phew..." A pale Wang Xiaohua let out a long breath and collapsed weakly to the ground.

"Yes! We won!" Song Jianguo cheered at the sight.

Just when everyone thought it was over, a deafening crack of thunder echoed. A bolt of impossibly black lightning fell from the sky, striking Zhang Wenda directly.

Smoking, he plummeted from the sky. Before he even hit the ground, his charred body began to disintegrate in mid-air.

"Quick! Hurry up!" the blue rabbit yelled, leading the others as they rushed forward. Just before Zhang Wenda completely disintegrated, they managed to evenly distribute his injuries among themselves, barely saving the red scythe monster’s life.

But an injury of that magnitude was not so easily shared. Everyone’s body began to convulse. Shuisheng and the others, who had already exhausted their Tri-Cores, immediately started vomiting blood, losing all ability to fight.

THUD. A despair-inducing tremor shook the ground once more. As everyone looked toward the sound, they saw a brand-new, giant monster rising from the dust cloud, completely unscathed.

"It’s no use. It’s useless," Shuisheng said, slamming his fist into the ground. "Given the circumstances, the Immortal is probably unkillable inside this tide of thought."

THUD. THUD. THUD. Accompanied by the same hopeless tremors, the distant, mountain-sized monster swayed back and forth as it began walking toward them again.

At that moment, Shuisheng finally understood why the Big Circle had gone to such trouble to create this thing. An unkillable Immortal monster that also possessed all kinds of divine powers—it was practically invincible.

Yet, Zhang Wenda was already twisting his hole-ridden body, struggling back to his feet. He tilted his head back and stared at the monster once more.

"Is it over, then?" a thought-cluster inquired, popping into existence to his left.

"No! It’s not over!" Zhang Wenda wanted to fight back, but facing such a colossal enemy, he couldn’t summon any hatred or killing intent. Despair washed over him, eroding his resolve, and his body began to shrink.

His attacks were tied to his emotions, but the problem was, he couldn’t muster them anymore.

"It’s not over! If hatred and killing intent aren’t enough, then think about our parents!"

The moment the blue rabbit’s words rang out, the red scythe monster’s body swelled instantly, shooting up several meters in height.

Even knowing how slim the chances were, Zhang Wenda roared, leaped high into the air, and vaulted off a cascade of thoughts, fearlessly charging the colossal monster before him.
