*Anos’s POV*

“Come on, you’ll be just fine in this match.” I said in vain, trying to cheer Harriet up for what was to be her second last match for this year.

It was early March already and the snow had thawed away to show Hogwarts Castle beneath it, still intact and as lively as it could be for early Spring.

“Professor Snape will be the referee.” She replied with a sigh.

“He won’t judge you too harshly.” I said scratching my chin and upon receiving her look of disbelief added “Well at least he’ll be fair, you’re up against Ravenclaw, I think you’ll do just fine.”

Harriet seemed to hear only half of what I said as she walked silently.

“Don’t care too much about the match, atleast you’ll not be waking up at 6 AM on weekends for Quidditch practice.” I said after a while, seeing the Quidditch pitch come into view.

“Maybe I’ll be able to convince you to not be awake the whole day as well, you should try sleep every once in a while, I think humans like it.” Harriet replied lightly, punching me on the arm.

“I have…work that needs to be done, maybe after this match you can help for a bit?” I said smiling. “Unless of course Oliver decides to have Quidditch practice for your team at 4 AM, impress the Owls in the castle with a fantastical performance.”

“Sometimes I wish I could just slam the door in Oliver’s face when he shows up before the sun’s out for Quidditch practice.” She replied with a sigh, stretching her left hand.

“I offered to do exactly that for you, but you declined. Something about manners and being rude. Pesky small stuff.”

I got a laugh out of her in return as some of the tension finally seemed to leave her.

“Well if Oliver does try to make us practice before even chickens wake up we might have to do just that.” Harriet said as she finished laughing.

“I hope for Oliver’s sake then that he doesn’t do that or a door to the face will be the least of his problem, I think Draco and Simon own enough fireworks between each other to start a small mining operation, and the Weasley twins seem to have an unending supply of it.” I said chuckling, Oliver Wood would be miserable if he didn’t end his Quidditch fervor.

He was the most dedicated Captain in between any of the Houses according to the Gryffindors, a madman according to most others who weren’t fanatics for Quidditch. I mean half of his team was less than 14, he was going a bit too far for the sport in some ways.

Before I could continue my train of thought Harriet spoke up.

“Hey about Alu-” She started but was immediately cut off by a shout.

“Potter! Come quickly!” On the far side I could make out the young features of Oliver Wood, tall and lanky and currently being extremely annoying.

“I suppose he wants to discuss some last minute strategy?” I asked and received a nod in reply from Harriet.

“Well then go, you’ll do good.” I said and received a smile in return as she hurried over to the rest of her team and I made my way to the Stands, joining the others who were already sitting there.

It wasn’t hard to find them in the crowd and Simon had saved a seat for me in between him and Draco.

Only Alucard wasn’t here, having already wished Harriet good luck in the Common Room, citing dislike for the sunlight, which in all honesty was fair considering the sky was clear and blue as I sat down, not much in the way of clouds either so I could feel a light itch constantly on my neck and chin.

“Well is she better now?” Hermione asked from where she was sitting; at the right of Simon.

“Yeah, for the most part at least.” I replied.

“I don’t know why she’s afraid so much, she’s very good as a Seeker.” Draco piped up.

“Well she’s less afraid and more nervous, and no Draco those aren’t the same thing.” I said in reply.

“What’s with you, you sound like Alucard.” Draco spoke in return and from my left I could see Simon wincing and slowly turning his head behind me.

I didn’t have to see to know that he was probably trying to get Draco to shut up.

“Nothing much, but you probably have a lot of practice to do after the year ends. If you still wish to join the Slytherin team in our second year that is.” I said, trying to fill up the silence.

“You think they’ll let me join even when I’m in a different House?” Draco said with trepidation, having successfully ignored Simon for the most part.

“I think more than thinking about being in a different House you should make sure you’re actually good at the game.” I said, causing Simon and Hermione to chuckle behind me.

“Professor Mcgonagall allowed Harriet to join.” Hermione answered.

“But she’s not the Head of House for Slytherin.” Draco said, looking at the ground.

‘You’re right. Your Godfather is the Head of House for Slytherin instead, idiot.’

I decided to not voice that reason, it would be better to not have Draco think everything could be handed to him on a silver plate even though I was sure uncle Lucius would be unlikely to deny him much of anything.

“Just practice, we don’t know, maybe you’ll get lucky.” I said, patting him on the back before Lan spoke up.

“The match is starting.” he said as both of the teams entered, the crowd cheering wildly even before the match had begun.

‘Oh well, let’s hope it’s not too eventful.’ I thought, scratching on my neck. Would be better if it was shorter as well, hopefully.
