By late afternoon, Emilia had almost forgotten about the promise of an indoor spa treatment.
She was walking beside Adrian through one of the quieter corridors of the penthouse when he stopped in front of a set of double doors.
Emilia looked at him curiously. "Where are we going?"
"You’ll see."
He opened the door.
Emilia stepped inside, and her eyes widened.
She stopped completely.
The room had been transformed.
What had once been an ordinary private room was now a luxurious spa. Soft lighting glowed from recessed fixtures along the ceiling, while several comfortable treatment beds had been arranged neatly across the spacious room. Fresh white towels were folded perfectly on shelves, and small bowls filled with flower petals decorated the tables.
There was even a manicure and pedicure station in one corner, alongside an assortment of neatly arranged bottles and equipment.
The air smelled faintly of lavender and vanilla.
Several women in elegant spa uniforms stood ready around the room.
Emilia’s mouth fell open slightly. "Adrian."
He watched her reaction with quiet amusement. "You said your thighs hurt."
"I didn’t mean you had to build a spa for me."
"I didn’t."
She looked around again. "You hired one."
"I did."
She turned toward him, her eyes sparkling. "This is incredible."
Adrian smiled.
Emilia took another slow look around the room. Then she turned back to him. "Can I invite Kylie?"
Her voice softened slightly.
She clearly wanted to ask, but she also seemed concerned about crossing a boundary.
"This is your home." She cleared her throat softly. "You don’t like the crowd."
Adrian stepped closer. His hand settled around her waist, pulling her gently toward him.
He looked directly into her eyes.
"Yes, you can."
Emilia’s face brightened, as she physically relaxed further. "Really?"
"Make sure you get the best treatment."
She smiled. "Thank you."
She leaned up and gave him a quick kiss. Before he could say anything, she pulled away and turned toward the women.
Her smile widened.
"Hi." They greeted her warmly.
Emilia immediately felt more comfortable.
They were all women, and something about that made the entire experience feel even more relaxing. She was just about to experience extended girlhood.
Adrian watched her for a moment before asking, "Where’s your phone?"
She looked back at him. "It’s here."
He nodded. "Call me if you need anything."
Emilia gave him a small salute. "Yes, sir."
A smile appeared on Adrian’s face.
Several of the women exchanged amused glances, clearly trying not to laugh.
Emilia noticed. "Don’t laugh."
One of them quickly shook her head. "We wouldn’t dare."
Emilia smiled.
Adrian shook his head before walking toward the door. "I’ll leave you to it."
"Bye."
He glanced back at her. "Enjoy yourself."
"I will."
The door closed behind him.
Emilia looked around the room again.
Her smile became enormous. She clapped her hands lightly. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
....
An hour later, Emilia was lying comfortably on one of the treatment beds.
Her eyes were closed as one of the women worked gently across her shoulders and upper back.
The room was peaceful.
Soft music played quietly in the background, and the faint scent of lavender filled the air.
Emilia let out a contented sigh. "This is amazing." She moaned.
One of the women smiled. "Your hair is so luscious." She complimented.
Emilia opened her eyes slightly. "Thank you."
Another woman smiled as she prepared some of the skincare products. "Do you have a routine or hair treatment?"
Emilia shook her head. "Not really." She paused. "I got this entirely from my dad’s mum." Her expression softened. "She was a goddess."
The woman smiled. "She must have been beautiful."
"She was." Emilia smiled fondly. "She always told me that I got my hair from her."
One of the women laughed softly. "She wasn’t wrong."
Emilia smiled.
The room remained peaceful for another few minutes. Then someone knocked on the door.
Everyone looked up.
"That must be Kylie," one of the women said.
She walked toward the entrance.
Another woman began preparing the manicure equipment while Emilia relaxed against the pillow.
The door opened, and Kylie stepped inside.
"Hey—" She stopped. Her jaw dropped. Her eyes moved slowly across the room.
She stared at the spa, the treatment beds, the manicure station, the neatly arranged products, the women, and then she looked back at Emilia.
"You never told me you drown yourself in wealth every weekend."
Emilia burst out laughing.
Kylie pointed dramatically toward the hallway. "You mean Adrian lives here?"
A woman stepped forward and offered to take her handbag.
Kylie handed it over with a bright smile. "Thank you."
She took a few more steps inside, still staring around. "This is insane."
Emilia thinned her lips. "It was weird at first."
Kylie looked at her. "Weird?"
"Yes." Emilia gestured around them. "When I first started coming here, I didn’t know what to do with all of this."
Kylie looked toward one of the enormous treatment beds. "I’d know what to do."
Emilia raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Never leave."
Emilia laughed again.
Kylie walked toward her. She sat on the treatment bed, and glared at Emilia playfully. "Move over."
"You’re getting your own." Emilia scolded her.
Kylie looked delighted. "Even better." She turned toward the staff. "Ladies, I’m ready to become a completely different woman."
One of them laughed.
Emilia shook her head. "Kylie."
"What?"
"You’ve been here for thirty seconds."
"And already I’m thriving."
Emilia smiled.
Kylie looked around once more before lowering her voice. "Seriously, though. How rich is this man?" she whispered.
Emilia’s eyebrows lifted. "I don’t know."
Kylie stared at her. "You don’t know?"
"No."
"You’re dating a mystery billionaire?"
Emilia immediately shook her head. "We’re not dating."
Kylie gave her a look.
Emilia sighed.
One of the women approached Kylie with a warm smile. "Would you like to start with a massage?"
Kylie’s face immediately brightened. "Yes."
Emilia laughed. "See? I told you."
Kylie pointed at her. "Don’t talk. You’re the one who brought me into billionaire heaven."
"I didn’t bring you. I asked if you could come."
Kylie looked toward the closed door. "I like him a little more now."
Emilia rolled her eyes. "You didn’t even meet him today."
"I’ve seen enough of his wallet today." She winked at Emilia.
The women laughed.
Emilia covered her face. "Kylie!"
"What? I’m being honest."
One of the attendants approached with a robe. "Let’s get you comfortable."
Kylie accepted it with a smile. "Thank you."
As she followed the woman toward another treatment area, she turned back to Emilia.
"By the way."
"Hm?"
"You look ridiculously happy."
Emilia blinked.
The teasing expression on Kylie’s face had softened. "You do."
Emilia looked down at herself. Her lips curved faintly. "Maybe I’m just relaxed."
"Mhm."
Kylie disappeared behind a small partition.
Emilia settled back against her pillow.
Almost thirty minutes later, Kylie peeked over from her treatment bed.
"Emilia."
"What?"
"Pick a color for me."
Emilia looked at the selection in front of her. "There are too many."
"I know. That’s why I need you."
Emilia studied the colors. "Something dark."
Kylie immediately nodded. "That’s my girl."
Emilia laughed.
"What about this?"
She pointed toward a deep wine shade.
Kylie examined it. "I love it."
The attendants exchanged amused glances.
