Elizabeth navigated the stone corridors and headed straight to Solomon’s guest chamber. She knocked gently on the open wooden doors. Peeking inside, she saw him lying sideways on the mattress. He faced the stone wall, keeping his back entirely turned toward the entrance.
"Are you sleeping?" Elizabeth asked, stepping into the room.
Solomon did not respond.
She walked around the edge of the bed to the other side. She looked down and saw his silver eyes wide open. He stared blankly at the bedsheets.
[1Fizzy: she needs to comfort him.]
[James_hayes: W Elizabeth.]
[Fatal_Beauty: my heart is breaking for him.]
[M00N: he looks so empty right now.]
[IceWaterKat: Solo Man needs this talk.]
"What are you doing?" Elizabeth asked, crossing her arms over her pristine training robes. "You are supposed to train us today."
Solomon remained completely silent. He pushed himself up and sat on the middle of the mattress.
Elizabeth hesitated for a moment. ’I have to fix this somehow,’ she thought to herself. She reluctantly climbed onto the bed and sat down directly opposite him so she could look him in the eyes. She crossed her legs and tried to find the right words.
"I do not know exactly what happened last night," Elizabeth started, her voice softening. "I do not know how it happened or whose fault it actually was. But it was just a spar. Things like that happen when people cross swords. Accidents are a natural part of the training."
Solomon kept his gaze fixed on the blankets. He offered absolutely no response to her comforting words.
[Chi_Master: he is totally zoned out.]
[Scott_Carson: bro is reliving the moment on loop.]
[Stephen-Wood: she is trying her best.]
[Tyler_Klare: give him time to process it.]
[Foodball: he cannot even look at her.]
Elizabeth took a deep breath. She looked at the bedsheets and gathered her thoughts.
"I am a princess of a royal family," she began, her tone formal. "My status places me high above the nobles and the commoners. You have seen how men like Commander Feng treat commoners. They view people without titles as beings who should not exist. I used to view the world through that exact same lens."
Elizabeth’s floating owl recorded her words. Her translucent interface scrolled rapidly with panicked messages from her own audience.
[RoyalGuard99: Your Highness, this is terrible timing.]
[SilverRose: please do not give a class lecture right now.]
[Knight_of_women: you are going to make him angry!]
[TeaTime_Lover: what is she doing?!]
She ignored the warnings flashing on her screen. "The royals are naturally stronger and more talented than anyone else. No matter how much a commoner trains or works, they can never reach the level of a royal who never lifts a finger. We are blessed by the heavens. Our talents are unique, and our lives simply matter more."
Solomon maintained his silence. ’I would have punched someone in the face for saying this a year ago,’ he thought to himself.
However, his time inside the mental void with the Undead Paladin had enlightened him. He understood the biological truth behind the royal bloodlines. Their veins carried diluted divine ichor from angels and gods. It was a genetic reality rather than a discriminatory ideology.
He listened without taking offense.
"I am telling you this so you understand how the world operates," Elizabeth continued, shifting her posture on the mattress. "While this has nothing to do with your spar last night, the logic remains similar. If you feel so guilty and sorry for an accident like that, then you should also feel deeply sorry for every single person you have killed."
That statement finally grabbed his attention. Solomon turned his head to look at her.
"Royals do not care about the individual lives of commoners, yet we still exist to protect the kingdom," Elizabeth explained. "The evil sect members operate the same way. They do not value our lives. But those cultists also have fathers, brothers, and sisters. They are someone’s son. They might act out of necessity or desperation. That does not make their actions right. Yet you strike them down without a second thought."
Solomon blinked at her convoluted logic. "I honestly do not understand what you are trying to say," he stated flatly. "You really suck at comforting people. You have clearly never done this before."
Elizabeth puffed her cheeks out and glared at him. A pink hue dusted her face. "I am trying my best to help you!"
Solomon let out a quiet chuckle. He rubbed the back of his neck and offered a genuine smile. "Thank you. You confused me so much with that speech that my mind actually had to reboot to process the information. I feel okay now."
[1Fizzy: the reboot strat worked!]
[Mezz_3863: she basically confused the depression out of him.]
[James_hayes: W Elizabeth.]
[Fatal_Beauty: she tried her best!]
[Foodball: mission accomplished.]
Elizabeth stood up from the bed and brushed the wrinkles from her pristine training robes. "A simple verbal thanks will not cut it. You will have to pay me back for this eventually. For now, it is time for our training."
She grabbed his sleeve and pulled him out of the room. They walked through the stone corridors and headed out into the morning sunlight. Reaching the dirt rings, they found Marco, Arthur, and Maximus already sweating.
The three boys swung their wooden practice swords, actively drilling the initial steps of the Azure Crane Blade technique.
Solomon clapped his hands to get their attention and they stopped.
"Looks like you are back to your usual self," Marco remarked.
"I never went anywhere. I was also here," Solomon responded.
Maximus stepped forward and said, "We thought you wouldn’t come, so we started practicing on our own."
"Don’t worry. It won’t happen again," Solomon replied as he glanced at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth also grabbed the wooden sword and stood in line.
He looked at the four teenagers holding their wooden practice swords, mentally preparing himself for the grueling task ahead.
"Show me exactly what you know," Solomon instructed, gesturing toward the center of the ring. "I need to see how many steps you can perform before we begin."
