Chapter 185: First Day of Training Lessons with Solomon

Marco stepped up first. The second-year student swung his wooden blade through the initial sequences of the Azure Crane Blade with practiced ease.

He transitioned smoothly through the rapid downward chop of the ninth step and executed the low sweeping leg trip of the tenth. Bounding off the ball of his foot, Marco launched into the eleventh mid-air horizontal slash and landed into the twelfth crouching deflection. His footing wavered slightly upon landing.

"You have the first ten steps locked down," Solomon noted, watching Marco regain his balance. "Your eleventh and twelfth forms are getting there. Focus entirely on mastering those two before you even think about attempting the final piercing strike."

Arthur walked into the ring next. The telekinetic boy pushed his spectacles up his nose and swung his practice sword. He managed to complete the first form with decent accuracy, but he stumbled clumsily through the second step while gasping for breath.

Solomon walked over and adjusted Arthur’s grip. "Your first form is halfway mastered. You lack physical stamina, so trying to muscle through the swing drains you instantly. Let the weapon’s weight do the work."

Maximus took his turn, stepping forward with his Vanguard physique. He powered through the first four steps of the technique. Surprisingly, his execution of the first three forms looked fundamentally sound. The fourth form, however, appeared rigid and forced.

"You mastered the first three," Solomon praised, tapping the older boy’s shoulder. "You are just holding too much tension in your upper body for the fourth step. We will fix that."

Elizabeth stepped onto the dirt last. She gripped her wooden rapier and executed the first four forms. Her fencing footwork looked pristine, allowing her to glide effortlessly through the first two movements. As she attempted the sweeping cuts of the third and fourth forms, she remained standing tall and upright.

"You have the first two steps perfected," Solomon advised, pointing at her knees. "You are just standing too high for the third form. It leaves your legs completely exposed."

Solomon motioned for the group to gather around him. He pulled a wooden training sword from the nearby rack and rested it against his collarbone.

"You all need to master the forms you can currently perform before moving to the next step," Solomon announced, ensuring everyone made eye contact. "Do not rush the process. Ask me anything if you get stuck. To make this easier, I am condensing the entire thirteen-step style into three core rules."

The hovering bronze owl adjusted its lens to capture the lesson.

[1Fizzy: Professor Solo Man is in session.]

[James_hayes: bro is taking this seriously. And he is good.]

[GoonLord: PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRINCESS!]

[Mezz_3863: he explains things so much better than Jin.]

[LazyCat: Arthur already looks exhausted lol.]

"Rule number one is the kinetic chain," Solomon began, demonstrating a slow practice swing. "Power does not come from your arms. It travels up from your calves, flows through your hips, pushes into your shoulders, and snaps out through your wrists."

He pivoted his back foot to emphasize the next point. "Rule number two involves relaxed ankles. Never lock your heels into the ground. Loose ankles allow you to pivot smoothly and utilize rotational momentum for your jumps."

Dropping his hips, Solomon executed the sweeping cut of the third form. "Rule number three is maintaining a low center of gravity. Keep your hips low during sweeping transitions so your lower body is never exposed to a counterattack."

’If they memorize those three principles, the rest of the style just becomes a memory game,’ Solomon thought, stepping back to let them practice.

The students spread out across the dirt ring and began drilling their respective forms. Solomon paced between them, offering tailored adjustments to fix their individual flaws.

He walked up behind Marco just as the older boy attempted his aerial transition.

"You are leaking energy right before the jump," Solomon pointed out, tapping Marco’s back heel with the tip of his wooden sword. "You are locking your ankle. Keep the joint relaxed so the rotational momentum carries you upward naturally."

Marco nodded and reset his stance, applying the correction to achieve a much smoother liftoff.

Solomon moved over to Elizabeth. She swung her rapier through the third step, keeping her spine perfectly straight. Solomon gently pressed his hand against her shoulder, physically forcing her to drop her stance.

"Lower your hips," Solomon instructed, watching a brief flush of pink dust her cheeks from the proximity. "Your footwork is beautiful, but standing tall during a sweep ruins your balance. Drop your center of gravity."

[Fatal_Beauty: the physical corrections!]

[BloodKnight: A proper stance dictates the survival of the warrior.]

[GamerGuy: Elizabeth actually listening to him is wild.]

[Stephen-Wood: she respects his skills now.]

Stepping away from the royal, Solomon approached Maximus. The Vanguard student hacked at the air with stiff, powerful chops.

"Loosen your wrists," Solomon ordered, demonstrating the fluid motion with his own practice blade. "You have plenty of physical strength, but rigid shoulders slow you down. Let your wrists stay flexible so your raw power converts directly into speed."

Maximus grunted in understanding and adjusted his grip, allowing the wooden sword to snap forward with noticeable velocity.

Finally, Solomon stopped next to Arthur. The telekinetic boy leaned heavily against his wooden sword, his chest heaving as he gasped for air.

"Stop trying to force the blade with your biceps," Solomon encouraged, guiding Arthur’s hips into a proper pivot. "Rely strictly on rotational momentum and basic physics. Let the spin carry the weapon for you. It will save your stamina."

[User12: Arthur fighting for his life out here.]

[1Fizzy: Solo Man tailoring the lessons to each student.]

[James_hayes: bro actually knows how to teach. He is better than most instructors and professors]

[M00N: the character progression is crazy.]

The morning sun climbed higher into the sky while the sounds of clacking wood filled the royal training grounds. Solomon kept a watchful eye on his class, fully determined to secure his academy star before the two-week deadline expired.

He allowed them to take a break every hour. After a few hours, it was time for lunch. They had expected that today’s training season had ended, but they couldn’t be more wrong.

After lunch, Solomon dragged them back to the training grounds, and had them swing swords till the sunset.

It was at that time, the four of them realized that perhaps, coming with Solomon and agreeing to be his students, if not slaves, was a bad idea.

Nonetheless, it was their first day of training, and it was going to continue for two weeks.
