Solomon shook his head without missing a beat. "I am currently enrolled at the Live Streaming Academy. I cannot join any other factions. Even if that restriction did not exist, I have zero desire to get involved with kingdoms or royal politics."
’Especially if I have to travel to different worlds in search for ruined kingdoms in the hope of finding their crowns to eat.’
Gideon did not press the issue. He simply accepted the rejection with a graceful nod before shifting his gaze to the massive executioner’s sword strapped to Solomon’s back.
"Is that the holy relic once wielded by the champion of Eden?" Gideon asked.
Solomon immediately grew defensive, gripping the heavy leather strap crossing his chest. "Yes, it is."
"Would you grant me the honor of holding it for a moment?" the older knight requested softly.
Solomon contemplated the risks for a few seconds. The paladin could easily overpower him if he tried to steal the weapon.
However, Gideon had shown nothing but respect since stepping into the courtyard. Trusting his gut, Solomon unbuckled the strap, hauled the heavy blade off his back, and placed the divine relic horizontally into Gideon’s open arms.
Gideon held the immense weight effortlessly. He inspected the glowing runes etched into the metal, his eyes tracing the history forged into the steel.
He slowly moved his right hand to grasp the hilt. His armored fingers hovered mere inches from the grip, but he ultimately stopped himself.
He retreated his hand and offered the weapon back to the teenager.
"I wouldn’t want to wield a sword that already has an owner," Gideon said reverently.
[Alpha_char: Gideon is so honorable.]
[MattMickyD: bro passed the vibe check.]
[Xenedra: he knows the sword would probably shock him anyway lol.]
[1Fizzy: game recognizes game part 2.]
Gideon then placed a gauntleted hand over his heart and offered a deep, solemn bow. "Thank you, Solomon. You relieved a brother of his eternal duty so he could finally rest in peace. As a paladin myself, it was deeply sorrowful to watch another champion wandering aimlessly, destroying his own legacy."
Before Solomon could respond, hurried footsteps echoed across the cobblestones.
"Solomon! Sir Gideon!"
Lune came rushing into the courtyard. Her face was flushed, and her chest heaved as she caught her breath. It was entirely obvious she had sprinted all the way from her premium guest quarters the moment Vera informed her about the confrontation.
Gideon stood tall and greeted the princess with a respectful salute.
Lune’s emerald eyes darted around the scene. She spotted the executioner’s sword resting in Solomon’s hand and the surrounding circle of soldiers.
"What is going on here?" Lune asked, her voice laced with heavy concern.
Solomon shrugged his shoulders, casually strapping his weapon back into place.
"I was simply greeting the young warrior, Your Highness," Gideon responded, his tone warm and reassuring. "He is a remarkably fine swordsman. He will undoubtedly achieve great things in the future."
The older paladin then looked at Lune and offered a subtle, encouraging thumbs-up. "Your choice is perfect."

[Stephen-Wood: the royal endorsement is secured.]
Lune instantly became entirely flustered. A bright crimson blush overtook her features, spreading from her cheeks down to her collar. She frantically waved her good hand to dismiss the assumption, desperate to change the subject before Solomon asked what the paladin meant.
"Did the treasury master receive my urgent letter?" Lune stammered, pivoting the conversation toward official royal business. "I requested immediate supplies."
"He did, Your Highness," Gideon confirmed. The paladin reached into a secure pouch on his belt and handed her a thick, wax-sealed envelope. "He asked me to deliver his response to you personally."
Lune snatched the envelope with a massive wave of relief. She desperately needed more stones to keep her secret shadow assassins updated on Solomon’s live stream. She quickly turned her back to the group, tore the wax seal open, and unfolded the parchment.
Her hopeful expression shattered instantly.
Covering the entire page in massive, bold ink strokes was a single word: NO.
Lune crumpled the paper in her hand, tearing the parchment into small pieces before letting them drift to the cobblestones. Turning her attention toward Solomon and the paladin, she noticed they were engrossed in a discussion.
"What do you say?" Solomon asked Gideon with a curious look on his face.
Lune walked over to join them, only to hear Solomon asking Gideon for a sparring match.
Lune gave him a deadpan stare, unable to believe what she was watching.
’I read in his chat where everyone called him a battle maniac, and I was already aware that he was one. But this...’
Gideon chuckled, his deep voice carrying genuine amusement. "I would love to spar with you, Solomon, but we both have duties requiring our immediate attention. We should refrain from crossing swords until the royal sermon ends. Once it is finished and we have the time, I will gladly accept your challenge."
Lune stepped beside them, interrupting the martial talk. "Are you free right now?"
"I am on my way to check on Marco and the others," Solomon replied, resting his hand on the hilt of Eden’s Penance. "I did not get to watch them train today."
Gideon then turned to the golden-haired princess. "The Emperor has sent a decree for you, Your Highness. I would like to have a private chat regarding its contents."
Lune froze in place, her emerald eyes widening slightly, but she managed a stiff nod. The two of them turned and walked away toward the inner palace corridors.
Solomon watched them leave, glancing around the training grounds filled with seasoned Lumiere soldiers. He let out a long sigh. "It feels very weird standing around so many strong warriors while being unable to fight them."
[1Fizzy: Solo Man having combat withdrawals.]
[Foodball: bro cannot go one day without throwing hands.]
[Tyler_Klare: wait, what do you actually think about Lune?]
[M00N: yeah answer the question Solo Man!]
[Zoomtech: spill the tea!]
