Chapter 208: The Day of Royal Sermon

"I think I have taken interest in Solomon as well," Elizabeth announced.

Lune froze. Her emerald eyes widened as she stared at Elizabeth.

"I do not know if I actually love him," Elizabeth quickly corrected herself, her cheeks flushing a brilliant shade of crimson. "But I really like how funny and serious he can be at the exact same time. He does not chase after status or wealth. He looks at me like a normal person instead of a political tool."

"Even when I treated him terribly at the academy gates, he still threw himself in front of those poisoned arrows to protect me without a single moment of hesitation. He makes me feel safe."

Lune narrowed her eyes, a fierce competitive spark igniting in her gaze. "Are you standing in my room right now trying to formally announce yourself as my romantic rival?"

Elizabeth shrugged her shoulders and offered a smug, challenging smile. "It is ultimately up to Solomon to decide who he wants. Besides, I am physically closer to him than you are anyway. I sit next to him at dinner, and he is my personal instructor. And once we return to the sect, we will be even closer."

"Get out of my room," Lune ordered, pointing a firm finger directly at the heavy oak doors.

Elizabeth giggled and walked toward the exit. She paused at the threshold and looked back over her shoulder. "If you try to keep your distance from him to teach him a lesson, I will use that opportunity to get even closer to him."

Elizabeth slipped out of the chamber, leaving Lune alone with her racing thoughts as the Null Orb finally expired.

By the time Elizabeth returned to her chamber, her floating bronze owl flickered back to life. Her chat interface was already going completely crazy. Solomon’s viewers had flooded her channel, desperately asking for details about the secret conversation.

[GoonLord: WHAT HAPPENED IN THERE?!]

[1Fizzy: tell us everything!]

[Fatal_Beauty: did they fight?!]

[Mezz_3863: spill the tea princess!]

Elizabeth brushed her white hair out of her face and offered a perfectly innocent smile to the camera lens. "Lune did not tell me anything important. We simply discussed our training schedules."

[James_hayes: CAP!]

[Tyler_Klare: she is lying to our faces!]

[M00N: the gaslighting is spreading.]

[Tad_Farmer:Solomon taught her lying along with sword technique.

She ignored the accusations and addressed Solomon’s audience directly. "Where is Solomon currently?"

[2Lazy2Care: he is still sitting alone in the hot spring.]

[IceWaterKat: bro hasn’t moved an inch.]

[DrakenKorin: just staring at the water looking sad.]

[Ron_Selby: it looks like something big happened.]

[Frendscham: bro 100% fumbled.]

Elizabeth bit her lower lip. ’Should I go out there and console him?’ she thought to herself. ’It would be the perfect chance to get close to him while he is emotionally vulnerable.’

She quickly shook her head, turning down the tempting idea. ’That would be an incredibly selfish move. He does not need anyone crowding his space right now. It is best if he is left entirely by himself to gather his thoughts properly.’

The rest of the night passed without incident. Morning sunlight eventually washed over the Azure Moon Kingdom, signaling the arrival of the highly anticipated royal sermon. The sprawling palace transformed into a breathtaking spectacle of vibrant colors and joyous celebrations.

Massive silk banners bearing the azure crescent crest hung from every towering marble pillar. Thousands of delicate paper lanterns floated above the grand courtyards, casting a warm, magical glow over the gathering crowds.

Prominent lords and ladies from neighboring noble houses arrived in luxurious wooden carriages, dressed in their finest embroidered silks.

The melodic strumming of ancient stringed instruments echoed across the manicured lawns, blending seamlessly with the cheerful chatter of the arriving guests.

The security for the grand event was handled entirely by the Lumiere vanguard. Platinum-armored knights stood at strict attention near every single archway and intersection, their mere presence ensuring absolute order.

Any local guards suspected of harboring cultist ties had been placed under strict house arrest until further notice, leaving the perimeter entirely in the hands of the elite foreign army.

Everyone within the inner palace wore elaborate ceremonial garments for the occasion. Pavilion Master Yue and Princess Lune acted as the official bridesmaids for the royal wedding accompanying the sermon.

They wore flowing, ethereal gowns woven from pure white moon-silk, adorned with intricate silver threading that caught the light with every step.

Elizabeth had also been roped into the bridesmaid role, wearing a matching white gown that perfectly complemented her snowy hair and piercing red eyes.

Marco, Arthur, and Maximus had spent their entire morning getting fitted for their own formal attire. Solomon, however, offered zero sympathy for their delayed practice schedule.

"The more time you three waste getting dressed up, the more hours you will have to train later tonight," Solomon warned them, adjusting his own collar.

The royal tailors had provided Solomon with a remarkable, tailored white tunic featuring silver embroidery that perfectly matched his striking hair and eyes. The crisp, clean lines of the ceremonial clothing highlighted his muscular build, making him look less like a rugged mercenary and far more like a high-born noble.

The royal sermon had already commenced in the central pavilion. Solomon patrolled the outer marble corridors, taking his security role seriously despite the overwhelming military presence.

He actively checked the blind spots and servant passages, ensuring nothing unusual slipped through the cracks.

He honestly wasn’t worried. The Lumiere army was incredibly strong, and the legendary paladin Gideon stood right near the royal altar.

Even if the Crimson Bone Sect had planned a massive, coordinated attack, they would never dare to strike a target guarded by a transcendent Swordmaster.

The rhythmic chanting of the royal priests and the joyful melodies of the wedding choir drifted through the open archways as Solomon walked his patrol route.

His thoughts continually drifted back to the previous night.

Lune was actively avoiding him. Whenever their patrol paths crossed earlier that morning, she made absolutely sure he knew she was ignoring him, turning her head away and quickening her pace.

’I am still not sure how to act around her or what to even say,’ Solomon admitted to himself. ’I could apologize, but I know an apology will not fix the actual problem.’

After finishing his perimeter check, Solomon reached the grand open-air pavilion where the royal wedding was taking place. He stood near the back of the massive crowd of nobles.

Princess Syra stood at the altar beside her groom, a prominent lord from a neighboring allied kingdom. They looked incredibly happy, exchanging their vows under the bright morning sun.

Solomon’s gaze eventually drifted away from the royal couple and fell directly onto Lune.

She stood off to the side with the other bridesmaids. She truly looked beautiful. Even though he had seen her completely bare in the hot spring the night before, the elegant white moon-silk dress elevated her presence entirely.

The silver embroidery sparkled against her golden hair, captivating his attention.

Lune turned her head slightly. Their eyes met across the crowded pavilion. She held his gaze for a brief second before narrowing her emerald eyes, shooting him a sharp, deliberate glare to remind him she was still furious. She quickly turned her attention back to the ceremony.

Solomon shifted his gaze toward Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stood rigidly beside Lune, looking entirely out of place in the delicate bridesmaid gown. She fidgeted nervously with her silk sleeves, clearly possessing absolutely zero idea what she was supposed to do during a wedding ceremony.

Over on the other side of the altar, Yue kept her jade fan resting against her collarbone, her eyes constantly scanning the crowd for any hidden threats.

The grand royal wedding and the subsequent religious sermon eventually concluded without a single disruption or cultist attack. The massive gathering of nobles cheered, marking the event as a resounding success for the Azure Moon Kingdom.
