Chapter 243: Getting the Rights to the A+ Dimensional Rift

"You cleared the rift?!" Lancelot exclaimed.

"It was not me who cleared it," the inquisitor responded, adjusting Solomon’s dead weight on his back. "It was this young man."

Lancelot stepped closer to get a better look at the boy’s face. "Is he one of the Holy Knights who entered the rift with the vanguard?"

King Shen stepped in front of the captain, an expression of sheer disgust twisting his royal features. "Do not be ridiculous. He is obviously not a Holy Knight. How do you not even remember the faces of your own unit members? Can you not clearly see he is wearing an academy uniform instead of your holy armor? His name is Solomon. He arrived earlier today alongside Sir Gideon and Pavilion Master Yue."

Shen puffed his chest out, immediately pivoting the situation for political gain. "And since he is clearly representing the Azure Moon Kingdom, and he is the one who successfully cleared the rift, all the resources and artifacts inside now legally belong to the Azure Moon Kingdom."

Gideon and Yue both turned to give King Shen an incredibly harsh, judging stare.

Yue snapped her jade fan open and stepped directly between the king and the captain. "Solomon is an officially enrolled disciple at the Azure Dragon Sect under the jurisdiction of the Live Streaming Academy. As per the strict laws, constitutions, and sovereign clauses of the academy, every single finding, artifact, and dungeon clear claimed by a registered student belongs entirely to the academy."

She glared at the royal and the captain. "If either the Holy Empire or the Azure Moon Kingdom has a problem with that legal claim, you are more than welcome to send a formal request to the Azure Dragon Sect. I will personally forward your complaints to the Live Streaming Academy Grandmaster."

Gideon stepped in to reinforce the boundary. "Pavilion Master Yue is correct. Solomon is not representing anyone’s kingdom today. He is here strictly on an assigned mission from the sect."

Ignoring the squabbling politicians, Gideon ordered the Azure Moon guards to carry Solomon into a secure medical pavilion. Palace healers quickly arrived, their hands glowing with green restorative magic as they hovered over the unconscious boy.

When Gideon asked for a medical diagnosis, the head healer simply shrugged his shoulders.

"He is not actually wounded," the healer reported, looking entirely baffled. "He does not possess a single physical injury, broken bone, or internal rupture. He has simply passed out from extreme physical and spiritual exhaustion. He will likely wake up perfectly fine in a few hours."

Gideon nodded in quiet amusement. He crossed his arms and thought to himself, ’I should send a formal request to that SilverKnight_Chronicles network channel to upload a compilation video of Solomon just passing out after every single major battle.’

Meanwhile, back in the Holy Knight encampment, Captain Lancelot and the masked inquisitor were locked in a tense, hostile stare-down inside the command pavilion.

"How can a single, unarmored kid clear an A+ rank rift that an entire vanguard of elite Holy Knights could not?!" Lancelot yelled, slamming his gauntlets onto the tactical map table. "Do you have any actual proof of this ridiculous claim?!"

The inquisitor remained perfectly calm behind his painted mask. "Why would there be any need for proof? There were exactly two people left alive inside that boss chamber. Myself, and Solomon. I am an inquisitor. My sworn duty is to act as a detective and an observer for the Union, not a frontline fighter. Who else could have possibly cleared the rift if not the only other person present in the room?"

Lancelot ground his teeth together. "How is that even physically possible?! I completely refuse to believe it!" The captain pointed an accusing finger at the masked man. "Did you properly log the battle in the Veritas Journal? The sacred tome where only the truth can be written?"

"I did not," the inquisitor responded flatly. "I had not anticipated Solomon’s sudden arrival, and the chaotic circumstances of the battle did not allow me the necessary time to transcribe the events."

"If it was not logged in the journal, then it legally did not happen!" Lancelot shouted, his face turning a brilliant shade of crimson.

"My assigned job was to observe, log, and report the specific expedition of the Holy Knights," the inquisitor corrected, his tone dropping to an icy chill. "I fulfilled that duty exactly as I was tasked. Reporting on the miraculous achievements of a foreign academy student falls entirely outside my jurisdiction."

Lancelot completely lost his temper. He swept a stack of parchment off the table, screaming at the top of his lungs. "We just lost all legal rights to the rift! It was an A+ rank! The resources, the mana cores, and the artifacts inside would have been enormous!"

Lancelot pointed his finger at the inquisitor. "This catastrophic failure and every single loss of life will be blamed entirely on you since you failed to stop the boy from stealing the kill! You better start drafting your excuses for the report to the Union!"

The inquisitor slowly stood up from his chair. He walked around the table and towered over the furious captain.

"You should really mind your language, Lancelot," the inquisitor warned, his voice dangerously low. "Keep in mind exactly who you are talking to. You are merely the captain of a regional unit of Holy Knights. You are not a high priest, and you are certainly not an inquisitor. I am your superior."

The inquisitor leaned closer, ensuring every word cut deep. "You are the one who failed at your job today. Your assignment was to create a plausible opportunity for the Holy Empire to permanently annex this ruined kingdom using a planted rift as a diplomatic excuse.

"The calculated failure of your vanguard was entirely on purpose, designed to make the tragedy look legitimate so we could summon the High Executioners and establish a permanent military stronghold on these grounds. You failed at that."

He pointed a finger at the captain’s golden breastplate. "Your secondary job was to guard the portal entrance and keep everyone else away so the rift remained uncleared. You failed at that, too."

"The holy empire has been trying to make their influence in the eastern realms for centuries, but they always fail." The inquisitor turned his back on the trembling captain. "Now, not only have we permanently lost the rift and its massive resources, but we have also lost our only diplomatic excuse to claim this ruined kingdom. You are the one in serious trouble, Captain. Not me."

After delivering the brutal reality check, the inquisitor swept out of the command pavilion, leaving Lancelot fuming and screaming in helpless rage.
