After breaking through, Ye Liuyun didn’t budge for a long while. First he repaired and reinforced his core and meridians, then solidified his new realm, refilled every storage stone, and finally spent a full three months inside his clone’s pocket world before stepping out.
His soul, bloodline, and flesh had all reached the standard of the Taixu realm. When the time came to advance again, the process would be far simpler; once his cultivation level was sufficient, he could step straight into Taixu.
He immediately recalled the five hundred soldiers, summoned the two demonic flood dragons back into the secret realm, fed each of them a Beast-Transformation Pill, and ordered them to transform right there. They were to stay put and not leave unless something urgent arose.
He himself returned to the Death Legion, left the first clone behind, and took the second clone back to the Crossing-Bridge Galaxy to find the demonic beasts and the women, sending them out to keep sharpening their skills.
After their recent rest, the beasts and women were eager for action; many had even advanced a minor realm.
Yet when they saw Ye Liuyun, they were shocked again. His entire bearing had changed—utterly back-to-basics.
Without circulating his true essence, none of them could tell his cultivation level. They crowded around him, brimming with curiosity.
“Big brother, you broke through again?” Lei Ming squealed.
Her golden pupils could see straight into his core; she simply marveled at how fast he advanced—so fast they could barely keep up.
“Just broke through,” Ye Liuyun confirmed, “but you’re not far behind. Don’t rush; build your foundations solid.”
The women were curious about every aspect of his power and begged him to show them.
He didn’t hide anything; he demonstrated on the spot to satisfy their curiosity.
Yet he didn’t need to release his soul force, bloodline pressure, or divine origin power fully—the group couldn’t endure even a fraction. Even Vermilion Bird and Dragon Girl buckled under his soul and bloodline might.
As for his divine origin, it left them even more stunned. The aura he radiated already rivaled late ninth-level Return-to-One experts, and the innate suppression it carried over ordinary true essence made their own circulation sluggish.
Amid their delight and praise, the beasts and women also felt the pressure; once they set out, their speed at wiping out bandits soared.
Ye Liuyun and his clone took turns venturing out to expand his spiritual-perception range, while those who stayed behind resumed devouring dragon souls, absorbing true-dragon blood, refining dragon bodies to strengthen their flesh, and refining true-dragon cores to reinforce their own cores and raise the quality of their divine origin—an across-the-board push to raise every aspect of their power.
Between cultivation sessions, he still spared with the soldiers, but the focus of his training shifted to spatial force and the momentum of heaven and earth.
Other powers he no longer used. He kept his cultivation hidden, suppressing any hint of divine-origin aura, and every time he left the base he wore a different face; even if someone gathered intelligence, they couldn’t be sure it was him.
As his spiritual perception widened, he began to pick up scouts sent to probe them—some in the Crossing-Bridge Galaxy, others near his main army. Whenever he found one, he killed them outright, too lazy to search their souls for who had sent them. Whether it was Jiang Yuntian or the Fire-Seal Dynasty, it made no difference to him.
With every advance of the army and the beasts, his various powers kept climbing.
At last he trained his spiritual perception until it could wrap around an entire planet and examine every corner in minute detail.
Yet he didn’t stop there. Continuous spiritual scanning not only widened his range and kept him safer, it also refined his soul.
His soul force rose again after he devoured two more dragon souls. Though he could keep going, he paused to consolidate before pushing further.
He refined the blood of another hundred true dragons, boosting his power of bloodline by at least thirty percent.
For his flesh he refined two more dragon bodies, and for his divine origin he absorbed four more true-dragon cores—then stopped, knowing any more would push his realm up again.
“Time to stretch my muscles.”
With every aspect of his strength raised, Ye Liuyun felt the need to move.
Finding an opponent, however, was no longer easy. He couldn’t bring himself to strike his own soldiers, and the Fire-Seal Dynasty was off-limits—his current forces weren’t enough to confront them.
Just as he pondered this, his spiritual sense caught several powerful experts heading toward the city where the women were fighting.
Lately, this sort of thing had become almost routine, so he didn’t pay it much mind—every time, the spirit beasts and the devil-vine had handled the intruders without trouble.
But this batch included experts whose mastery of spatial force and heaven-and-earth energy was unusually strong; they were cloaked in invisibility, and two peak Ninth-Layer Return-to-One assassins hung back, clearly preparing an ambush.
“Hmph. Again and again you target my beasts and my women—do you really think I’m easy prey?”
With that thought, he flickered forward, cutting off their path with his own spatial power. Time force unfurled at once, and he began soul-scouring them one by one to learn who had sent them.
The answer was Jiang Yuntian.
Jiang Yuntian had dispatched plenty of previous teams to ambush Ye Liuyun, but none had ever gotten close before being wiped out. Convinced Ye Liuyun was too hard to kill, he’d shifted tactics: strike the tamed beasts and the women instead, hoping to threaten Ye Liuyun through them.
After extracting the information, Ye Liuyun ripped every intruder’s soul straight into his own sea of consciousness and sealed them inside Soul-Lock Pearls for later use. The corpses he tossed to the devil-vine.
Next, he recalled every beast and the vine into his inner world. His second avatar took Tang Xinyao and the remaining women to keep sharpening their skills; Cui Daoran stayed behind as support and would eventually garrison the area.
“Keep clearing the bandits here. When you’re done, I’ll come back and move you to a tougher spot for more tempering.”
With that order given, he shot straight toward the planet where Jiang Yunmo was stationed.
By now the Duqiao star system had been nearly cleared; only a handful of planets remained. Jiang Yunmo had already relocated several clans, and the Holyfire Chamber of Commerce had moved its headquarters as well. Conscription had produced a sizable garrison, though its strength was still modest; real danger would still require Ye Liuyun’s aid.
Ye Liuyun had been buried in cultivation and hadn’t found time to visit. This incident gave him the perfect excuse to check on Jiang Yunmo’s arrangements—and to ask for Jiang Yuntian’s current location.
Since Jiang Yuntian had started aiming at his women, Ye Liuyun had no intention of showing mercy. His personal guard of five thousand elite soldiers would make excellent practice targets.
