Married To My One Night Mistake

Two days later, there was a dinner and Julian had come over to spend time with his parents and sister. Clancy was away to Spain for a contract deal with a top business tycoon.

Midway through the meal, Julian asked "where’s your special maid, Katherine?" He asked, pausing to glance at her. Selen Williams was not allowed into the family or the mansion but she’s always running errands for his sister.

Once or twice, he’d seen her from a distance. But he just felt the whole place was somehow not normal, not hearing Katherine mentioned her name. That’s unlike her. She would have cursed Selen a number of times already.

Katherine shivered. It’s been two days now and she felt haunted by the blood of Selen. She hadn’t been able to sleep well and each time she closed her eyes, she saw the flashback of Selen writhing in pain and calling her for help.

And now, Julian mentioned her name.

"She doesn’t live here anymore. The slut had already left" Rose Avelino responded. Julian and her husband hadn’t known the actions she and Katherine took when they discovered the bitch was pregnant.

"What do you mean? Where is she now?" Jimmy Avelino asked, dropping his cutlery. Clancy already made it clear she wasn’t to be allowed out of the estate nor will she ever be in his mansion.

Where had they sent her to?

"I don’t know Jimmy. Do you know what kind of a bitch that woman was? She dares to be filthy because Clancy wouldn’t consummate their union. She chose to be a loose woman, frolicking around with..." Rose was furiously explaining when her husband interrupted her.

"Tell me exactly what she did that made you send her away from the estate and where is she now?" Jimmy demanded. He’d never seen anything awful about the girl. Her family was to be blamed for their greediness and not her.

"She was pregnant with the child of a man she cannot identify. So she...almost had a miscarriage and was taken to the hospital. I went to her and made her sign the divorce papers..." Katherine paused, her heart beating very fast.

Julian was alarmed. He glared at his mother and then his sister and turned to stare in the direction of his father and their eyes locked. The dining area suddenly went quiet.

"So where is she now?" Jimmy asked, he doesn’t know where to begin from. Is that they didn’t probe further to know who actually was responsible for her pregnancy or that they took laws into their hands and made her sign the papers.

"I don’t know dad," Katherine replied.

She left her in the hospital and didn’t follow up on her anymore. Maybe she was still in the hospital recovering or not, she cannot tell. Maybe she can just follow up on her by calling the hospital customer care service.

"Is Clancy aware of this?" Jimmy asked. He saw Rose and Katherine turned and exchanged glances, none of them was able to respond to that question.

"I hope you are able to give Clancy a satisfactory response when he returns" Jimmy stated, losing interest in his dinner. He excused himself and left.

Julian was sad "What you both did, was wrong. What if..." he paused, stood up and left. If what Clancy told him was true, he is afraid that his family was going to regret treating Selen the way they did.

In a certain presidential suite, Clancy Avelino was going through a file on his computer when Philip Wood walked in. He wasn’t expecting the outcome of the investigation to turn out this day.

He was not an Avelino but he never treated Selen differently like Clancy and his family does. He shouldn’t have allowed the hatred he felt towards her to overcome his sense of reasoning. Now, he must be the first to probably apologise to her.

Clancy expected his assistant to talk, but he didn’t and his patience was at its peak "You speak now or you get the fuck out of my face" he thundered.

Philip sighed softly and said "I got the information you needed Mr Clancy"

Clancy Avelino paused and raised his head to glance at Philip. He didn’t say anything but just stared at him "She’s a William but only came into the family after her mother’s death. She’s an illegitimate daughter of her father, Attor Williams.

She’s ignorant of the bargain but was also forced into the union against her will. She has nothing to her name nor was she compensated for her mother’s death..." by the time Philip was done with his report, Clancy Avelino was quiet for a while.

Had he misjudged Selen Williams?

Had she ended up in the club because she wants to relieve her broken heart just like himself? If she’s the daughter of the woman that died, all the benefits and compensation should go to her alone.

What games exactly has her family playing using her as the pawn? And to think, she’s the one that was left out of the benefits.

"Sir, is Selen Williams really aware of all that happened?" Philip found himself asking. He knew the predicament that the young woman found herself in. Was she used by her family to enrich themselves and push her out of the equation?

"I don’t think so. She probably was the victim on both sides and I might have misjudged her entirely" Clancy Avelino finally spoke. She suffered from her family and then, from his own family as well.

He thought the daughter forced on him was Attor and Regina Williams’ daughter. They kept their daughter away and sent the wrong woman for marriage. He already told them he would be cruel on her if they insisted that he marry her.

"She’d been treated unfairly if I must say" Philip concluded. He remembered the day she was brought home by him. He was hostile towards her as well as everyone else in the family. He remembered also how Mr Clancy almost choked her until he came as a saviour.

"And it has to stop immediately. Get your things in order, We’re leaving for London tonight" Clancy declared. He was wrong about her. She shouldn’t be paying for the greediness of her family when she’s also a victim like himself.

Philip nodded and stepped out. As he shut the door to Clancy’s lounge, he sighed softly. He’d seen innocence in the woman’s eyes but her family rigidity was the reason why he didn’t spare her a thought for once.

Anyways, it’s not too late to make corrections. It’s barely three months after the union. He could let her go or reverse her position in the Avelino’s family. Give her a job and let her go from his family.

As for love, that’s completely out of it. Clancy doesn’t want any distraction and he sees women as such. Relationships don’t interest him and he had lost count of how many times he’d started a relationship and it barely survives two weeks.

Some he fucked and others, he let them go. And Selen isn’t going to be different.

Meanwhile, the Williams family were dazed when Rose Avelino called their home and accused them of sending a defiled woman to her son for a bride. Didn’t they say she was a virgin?

She was sending her lawyer to them. They’ve deceived them and not only was she a slut, she was pregnant with an illegitimate child. Her Avelino family will not accept a bastard pregnancy into their home.

Tola Williams sneered. She exchanged glances with her mother. She didn’t expect that her stupid sister is indeed so foolish not to use a contraceptive after being fucked by a stranger.

She should have known that her sins would scream loud after her. She has always known she would remain a fool for her entire life.
