Married To My One Night Mistake

Jimmy Avelino waited, he wasn’t sure if his eldest son would come or not. But he hopes that he showed up. He hopes he still regards him as his father, the man whose index finger he wrapped around his tiny little palms when he was born.

He wants to see his family united again in love. The bond they shared all these years shouldn’t shatter before his eyes as the man and father of the house without being able to do anything about it.

Every one of them is going to intensify their search for Selen. She

might have gone into hiding, to have her babies and live a quiet secret life. She might still be afraid of crossing the Avelino’s without realising that the entire family was in search of her.

Jimmy kept hoping, Julian was present and Katherine also had arrived. She looked sad and unhappy, her life has been filled with so much disappointment that at this point, her marriage was at the verge of collapse.

"I don’t know if Clancy will come but I honestly look forward to seeing him" Jimmy Avelino stated, his anxiousness prying out of its hiding place. He wants to see his son, that’s undeniable.

Julian saw how desperate his parents were, he knew they wanted to see Clancy. His mother was particularly unwell and his brother hadn’t come to see her. He doesn’t care anymore.

According to him, Selen and his kids are somewhere that he didn’t know. If his kids can be without their father, it’s the same if his parents can live without him for the rest of their lives.

He stood up and said "excuse me" and stepped out. He took his phone and called Clancy. He expected him to come, but he might suddenly change his mind and wouldn’t notify them about it. He’d done that before.

"Is there a problem?" Clancy’s question came first as soon as he answered the phone. He’d decided he was going to come, and that’s exactly what he was doing.

Why was Julian calling him then?

"We’re waiting for you Clancy...are you coming?" Julian asked. He can only persuade his elder brother. There’s nothing else he can do besides that.

"In two minutes, I’ll be in the estate" Clancy responded and hung up. He soon drove into the estate and saw Julian waiting for him. His chauffeur parked in the driveway and Clancy stepped out and asked "You should be inside?"

"Yes, we should be in already" Julian chimed and hugged his brother. Together they chuckled and got in. Clancy got to the dinning and saw his parents,both sighed softly for relief.

"Clancy my dear" Rose Avelino chimed. She was happy to see her son. She got up and met him midway. She crossed her arms around his waist and said "I missed you my son...I missed you so much " she stuttered.

She started sobbing. It hurts her that she was unfair in her attitude towards Selen. And to know that she was hurting her grandchildren. She understands how Clancy feels and she justifies his actions in cutting ties with her.

Clancy didn’t dodge, he didn’t stop his mother from hugging him, he just stood unmoved and shut his eyes. He missed her too. He is so attached to his mom when growing up.

Whatever she did, she thought she was helping him. And in the end it wasn’t really her fault. He was the one who destroyed Selen and his kids and not anyone else. He’d only ruined her and threw her to the gutters for others to trample upon.

"Forgive me son...please forgive me" Rose pleaded, her tears running down her cheeks as she held firmly to her son. "I was wrong, Clancy, mummy apologises to you..." Rose sobbed.

"My kids mum...Selen...I can’t find them..." he trailed off. If he finds her, he will know that the search is over and he will eventually get united with his kids.

But he doesn’t know if she’s fine or had complications after she disappeared from the hospital like the doctor said. Selen left the hospital unannounced despite being told she needed a bed rest because of the threatened abortion.

"We’ll find them all, Clancy. Your father is promising you that we’ll intensify our search outside London and England. We’ll find her and the kids and we’ll bring them home. This is their home and they’ll come back to their home" Jimmy promised.

Later that evening, Clancy strolled to the servant’s quarters, he walked into the room where Selen lived back then, that year when she was innocently brought into his life. He should have known that she’s not favoured.

He gets irritated by her, not because of the reckless night he spent with her. But because she was the bride the Williams family had forced down his throat because he was in the wrong and prefers to settle the grieved family outside the court.

He had no option than to grant their request after paying a huge compensation fee, only to find out that the real beneficiary of the compensation wasn’t aware of it and to fully conceal it, she was sent away from home in the disguise of marriage.

He glanced around the room, it was neat and well kept. It’s a tiny narrow room. How was she able to live in such a space for three months? He’d never come this far in the estate hence he had no idea how the place looked.

And even if he did, the way he felt about Selen back then, he wouldn’t care if she sleeps in the garage or the open space. The resentment back then, was thick and oozing out of him towards her in thick contempt.

He glanced at the bed and saw the picture portrait of Selen and her mother when she was younger. He was the reason why she lost her mother and was also responsible for her to live in destitute with three children all by herself.

Can she take care of them? How is she surviving being a single mother or perhaps she has found love and has moved on. Can she really move on with the triplets?

"Clancy" Katherine called, standing by the doorway. She’d been staring at him for some minutes and he didn’t realise it. She saw how lost he looked and a quiet yawning spread all over his facial expression.

Clancy heard his name and knew whose voice it was. He stiffened but didn’t turn to glance at her nor respond to her. He kept his gaze on her picture and picked it up. As he gazed on it, it was as if he was understanding the bond the mother and daughter shared.

What a bond he broke, a relationship he shattered and two happy souls separated by him. He sighed softly and felt tears clouding his eyes.

He glanced away with a quiet sniffle.
