His body crashed into the wall, causing the surrounding structure to shake from the impact.
Alan, who was fighting both Master-rank demons, immediately looked toward the wall where the Grandmaster-rank guard had crashed.
He then shouted in a loud tone,
"Alex, are you okay?"
Alex, who was still against the wall, quickly replied in a loud voice,
"Yeah, I’m okay. Just focus on those demons and don’t talk to me until you kill them—"
Before he could finish his sentence, the Null Demon was already standing directly in front of him.
It had moved so quickly that, for a moment, it looked as if it had simply teleported.
But it hadn’t.
The demon had merely moved at such an incredible speed that Alex’s eyes couldn’t properly follow its movement.
As soon as it reached him, the Null Demon threw a powerful punch toward Alex’s torso.
Alex reacted immediately.
His entire body became enveloped in brilliant light, and in the next instant, he vanished from his position.
The Null Demon’s fist missed Alex and struck the already-damaged section of the wall instead.
BOOM!
The impact created even more cracks across the wall and sent another powerful tremor through the facility.
Alex reappeared behind the Null Demon.
Without wasting a moment, he swung his greatsword toward the demon’s bare back with all the strength he could muster.
The attack landed.
BOOM!
A massive shockwave erupted from the collision, spreading through the surrounding area.
Alex immediately moved backward and looked at the Null Demon’s back.
For the first time, he saw a small crack on its smooth, diamond-like body.
It was only a tiny crack, but it was still an injury.
Alex’s expression became slightly more serious.
However, before he could do anything else, the Null Demon began absorbing the mana scattered throughout the surrounding area.
The mana had been released from Alan’s spells during his battle against the other two demons.
The Null Demon absorbed that mana directly into its body.
The small crack on its back disappeared almost instantly.
Its body returned to its previous flawless state as if Alex’s attack had never happened.
Alex frowned
Before he could think any further, the Null Demon was already upon him again. It began throwing one punch after another, each attack carrying tremendous physical strength. Alex coated his entire body in Light Element mana, increasing both his speed and physical strength.
He met the Null Demon’s punches with his greatsword, blocking every attack before it could reach his body.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Every collision forced Alex backward. Even after increasing his physical abilities to the highest level he could manage, he was still being pushed back by the Null Demon’s overwhelming strength. The difference in their physical power was simply too great.
Alex couldn’t coat his weapon in Light Element mana either. If he did, the Null Demon would simply absorb the mana from the weapon and become even stronger. Because of that, Alex could only rely on his physical strength, swordsmanship, and combat experience.
He continued dodging and blocking every attack while making sure the Null Demon couldn’t escape the area or move toward the other guards. He needed to keep its attention focused entirely on himself.
Alex was waiting for Alan to finish fighting the two Master-rank demons so that the two Grandmasters could finally work together against this monster.
However, Alan was also having difficulty killing them. Despite being one rank below him, both the Ironhide Demon and the Lava Golem possessed absurdly high durability, making the battle take far longer than either Grandmaster had expected.
Meanwhile, the Null Demon continued attacking Alex. Its movements were becoming faster with every passing moment. The demon had been trapped inside the facility for many years and hadn’t properly used its body in battle during that time.
But now, it seemed to be treating the fight as nothing more than a warm-up. It was gradually becoming more accustomed to its body again.
More importantly, the Null Demon was beginning to understand Alex’s movements. Its attacks were becoming increasingly difficult to predict, forcing Alex to remain completely focused on every movement.
Then, one of its punches finally managed to connect.
The fist struck Alex’s left shoulder before he could dodge in time. The moment it landed, the Light Element mana covering that part of his body was absorbed by the Null Demon.
The tremendous force sent Alex flying backward once again. His body crashed into the wall, causing the already-damaged structure to shake from the impact.
Blood flowed from his injured shoulder, but the wound quickly began healing. Almost every cultivator within the Church knew at least basic healing techniques, and Alex was no exception.
He quickly stabilized his body and stood back up, his eyes remaining fixed on the Null Demon.
And again, the clash began between the Null Demon and Alex.
’Just what the hell went wrong?’ Alex cursed inwardly as he continued fighting against the Null Demon.
’How the hell did these guys escape after being trapped here for years? What the hell happened in that place?’
Alex couldn’t understand what had happened inside the facility. Everything had been under control when he had been stationed here, yet somehow, the demons had managed to escape almost simultaneously.
Alex made another mistake.
The Null Demon’s punch passed only a few inches away from his cheek. He immediately retreated, creating some distance between them, but the demon was already upon him again.
The two continued exchanging blows at incredible speed.
Alex blocked, dodged, and counterattacked whenever he found an opening, but the Null Demon’s overwhelming physical strength continued forcing him backward. With every passing moment, Alex suffered more injuries, and only a few minutes had passed since their battle had begun.
Meanwhile, Alan continued fighting the Ironhide Demon and the Lava Golem.
Alan suddenly raised his hand, and a massive Light Element missile formed in front of him.
BOOM!
The attack shot forward and struck the Ironhide Demon directly in the leg.
The powerful impact shattered its balance, causing the massive demon to fall to the ground.
