The moment the Shadow Demon emerged from the other shadow, Steve was already there waiting for it.
He swung his spear in a single decisive strike, and the attack struck the Shadow Demon before it could react.
The Shadow Demon was killed instantly, its body dissipating into darkness as the surrounding shadows returned to normal.
After killing the Shadow Demon in just a few moments, Steve looked toward the other Master-rank guards and said, "Those who don’t have enchanted armor, equip yourselves by taking it from the guards who just arrived. Then wait for a moment until we deal with the other demons. If you can, try to kill the Dream Demon as well."
Everyone nodded immediately. Those who didn’t have enchanted armor quickly took it from the guards who had arrived with Steve and equipped themselves.
Steve then looked toward one of the walls in the corridor where the Dream Demon was hiding. However, the demon wasn’t currently in its physical body.
If Steve wanted to kill it, he would either have to force it out of its hidden state by opening his Domain or allow it to enter his consciousness and fight it there. But the Dream Demon wasn’t foolish enough to enter the consciousness of someone like Steve.
At the same time, Steve couldn’t open his Domain right now.
If he did, there was a possibility that the other demons could use the opportunity to escape while he was occupied.
Steve then turned his attention toward Alan and Alex.
Alex was still fighting the Null Demon and was being pushed back under its overwhelming physical strength. Alan was still nearby, having just finished his battle against the Ironhide Demon and the Lava Golem.
Steve then said, "Alan, go help Alex. I’ll take care of the other two approaching demons."
Alan nodded, but before moving, he asked, "What about the group of demons that are trying to break through into the Master Rank right now?"
Steve immediately replied in a calm tone, "There’s no need to worry about them for now. Focus on the Null Demon and kill him before he absorbs more mana and recovers enough strength to use his Domain."
Alan didn’t ask anything further.
He simply summoned a sword into his hand and quickly moved toward Alex.
Within moments, Alan reached the battlefield and joined Alex in fighting the Null Demon.
The moment the two Grandmasters began attacking the Null Demon together, the pressure on the demon increased considerably. Alex immediately took advantage of the opening created by Alan’s arrival, while Alan attacked from the opposite side.
Until now, it had been able to keep Alex on the defensive, forcing him to constantly dodge and block its attacks. But with Alan joining the fight, the pressure had suddenly increased.
Alex attacked from the front while Alan moved around its side, preventing the Null Demon from focusing on only one opponent.
The Null Demon threw a powerful punch toward Alex, but Alex blocked it with his greatsword. At the same time, Alan appeared beside the demon and swung his sword toward its body.
The Null Demon quickly twisted its body and avoided the full force of the attack, but the sword still left a shallow mark across its smooth skin.
Now, the one suffering injuries was the demon.
The Null Demon’s body had slowly started developing more cracks as the combined attacks of Alex and Alan continued to land on it. Its overwhelming physical advantage was still present, but fighting two Grandmaster-rank cultivators at the same time was finally beginning to take its toll.
Meanwhile, the other Master-rank guards were now relatively safe after equipping themselves with the enchanted armor. The Dream Demon still tried to interfere with their minds, but the armor provided too much resistance, greatly reducing the effectiveness of its abilities.
Because of that, no Master-rank guard had died since the Shadow Demon was killed.
However, the guards also couldn’t kill the Dream Demon.
They were simply standing around the area, maintaining their distance while keeping watch on the demon. They were too weak to interfere in the battle between the Grandmasters, and if they tried to help, they would most likely become easy targets for the demons and end up giving them an opportunity to recover their strength.
Steve had kept the Master-rank guards there for another reason.
The group of demons in the corpse storage section was still undergoing their breakthroughs into the Master Rank.
Once those demons finished breaking through, they would eventually reach the battlefield.
Steve needed the guards to be ready when that happened.
After a few more moments, the two remaining Grandmaster-rank demons, Ravena and Dominique, finally entered the battlefield.
As soon as they arrived, Ravena’s eyes immediately moved toward the Null Demon, who was still fighting against Alex and Alan. She observed the battle for a moment before turning her attention toward Steve.
Steve was already looking at her.
Their eyes met, and his expression immediately became serious. He could sense the powerful aura coming from Ravena, and unlike the other demons, her presence gave him a much stronger sense of danger.
Ravena then shifted her attention toward the other Master-rank guards standing nearby. Her crimson eyes glowed faintly as she looked over them, and a strange pressure seemed to spread through the surrounding area.
She then turned toward Dominique and calmly said, "Kill all those Master-rank guards. Make sure they bleed before they die. I’ll take care of this human."
Dominique looked toward the group of guards and then back at Ravena.
She immediately understood what Ravena meant.
The guards were wearing enchanted armor, but it still wasn’t enough to completely nullify the abilities of a Grandmaster-rank demon like Dominique. The armor could greatly reduce the effects of her powers, but it couldn’t protect them completely.
Dominique was just about to move toward the Master-rank guards when Steve suddenly appeared in front of her.
His body was enveloped in brilliant Light Element mana, and his spear was already raised in his hand, ready to strike directly at Dominique’s chest.
