But apparently, that wasn’t the case.
Asher looked at her for another moment before his expression became calm again.
Then he said,"So, if that’s the only thing you could be useful for,I think you have to die."
Ravena’s expression changed immediately. She could no longer maintain the calm expression she had been showing before, and for the first time, a hint of urgency appeared in her eyes.
She quickly said, "I am the heir of one of the three great Demon Clans. I can help you in many ways."
Asher stopped for a moment.
He looked at Ravena without saying anything, as if he was considering her words. The playful expression on his face remained, but his eyes became slightly more serious.
Ravena noticed the change and continued hurriedly, afraid that if she stopped speaking for even a moment, Asher might decide to kill her.
"You don’t understand how much I can be useful to you. I know the Demon Clans, their territories, their resources, and many of their secrets. If you let me live, I can help you with all of that."
She took a breath, still struggling against the poison and the dark fog that continued weakening her.
"You won’t lose anything by keeping me alive. I can become useful to you in ways you haven’t even considered yet."
Asher remained silent for a few moments.
Ravena watched his expression carefully, waiting for his response.
Asher then looked at Ravena for a moment before asking calmly, "How much influence do you have in the Demon Continent?"
Ravena immediately understood that he was seriously considering keeping her alive. She quickly answered, "I have been absent for the last decade, so I might not have as much influence as I once did right now. But after I return and reach the Immortal rank, I will have full control over at least my own house, without any doubt."
She paused for a moment, watching Asher’s expression carefully.
Then, realizing that he might still change his mind, Ravena hurriedly continued, "It will only take me a week at most to reach the Immortal rank."
Asher listened to her quietly without interrupting. He seemed to be thinking about what she had said, his playful expression remaining on his face.
After a short silence, he finally nodded slightly.
"I see. You’re not that useless after all, I guess."
As soon as he finished speaking, the dark rods that were still embedded in Ravena’s body were suddenly removed by one of Asher’s demon vessels.
Ravena’s body immediately relaxed slightly.
A strange green light then appeared around her body and quickly enveloped her completely. The light spread over her injuries, repairing the damage and restoring some of the strength she had lost.
Ravena remained silent as she felt her condition gradually improving.
She looked at Asher with a complicated expression.
A moment ago, he had been talking about killing her.
Now, he was healing her instead.
"He is crazy."
After she had been healed enough, Ravena slowly stood up. Her body still felt somewhat weak, but most of the injuries had already been repaired.
Then, suddenly, a strange ring appeared in Asher’s hand.
Ravena looked at the ring with curiosity, but before she could ask anything, Asher simply moved his hand. A corpse suddenly appeared from the ring and fell onto the ground.
Ravena immediately recognized it.
It was the corpse of the Grandmaster-rank Null Demon.
Ravena looked at Asher, who still had that playful expression on his face, and then asked, "How do you have this?"
Asher casually looked at the corpse before replying, "I just stole the ring from that human Grandmaster earlier, when I first appeared here and attacked them."
Ravena’s expression remained unchanged as she listened to his answer.
However, internally, she was cursing him.
If Asher had already possessed this ring, then he had been carrying a Grandmaster-rank corpse with him from the beginning. That meant he could have given it to her earlier when she needed powerful blood.
Instead, he had deliberately kept it hidden.
More importantly, Ravena couldn’t help but wonder if he had already been planning to kill Dominique from the very beginning. He had possessed a Grandmaster-rank corpse all along, yet he had never mentioned it to her.
She didn’t say anything about her thoughts.
There was no point in questioning Asher about it now.
Instead, Ravena simply approached the corpse of the Null Demon and began absorbing its blood. The powerful blood energy entered her body, allowing her to recover even more of her lost strength.
Her aura gradually became stronger as the absorption continued.
After she finished absorbing the blood and recovering enough strength, Ravena looked toward Asher again.
She then said, "I’m ready. We can escape now. The reinforcements should be about to reach here soon enough."
Asher looked at her for a moment.
Then his playful smile returned.
"Oh, we’re not escaping now. We’re actually waiting for the reinforcements to arrive."
Ravena froze.
She looked at Asher with disbelief written across her face, unable to understand what he had just said.
After everything that had happened, escaping before the reinforcements arrived was supposed to be the obvious choice.
Yet Asher was saying the complete opposite.
Ravena stared at him for a few moments before finally asking in a tone filled with disbelief,
"What do you mean by that?"
Asher looked at her with confusion and then said, "I’m saying that we are waiting for the reinforcements to arrive. They will probably send some Grandmaster-rank experts, so before leaving, we should kill some more Grandmaster-rank experts, don’t you think? Don’t you want revenge on the humans?"
Ravena looked at Asher as if she were looking at some madman who had completely lost his mind. She couldn’t understand how he could speak so casually about waiting for reinforcements when they had already gone through so much trouble just to survive.
"What revenge? What would I do with revenge if I won’t even stay alive to take it?"
She was just about to say something when Asher suddenly looked toward the distance.
"Oh, shit."
