After saying this, Asher looked at Cassie, who now had a somewhat surprised and thoughtful expression on her face. She remained silent for a few moments, seemingly connecting everything she had heard so far. After some time, she finally said in a solemn tone, "So you are that man’s disciple—"
Before she could continue, Asher immediately interrupted her in an annoyed tone, "Hey, I don’t know who you guys are talking about, nor do I care to know who that stupid human was. I am not related to him, and my abilities aren’t similar to his either."
Cassie looked at Asher for a moment before continuing with another question.
"So you have many bodies, and this is one of those bodies. Do you have an Immortal-rank body too?"
Asher casually summoned a chair from his subspace and sat on it in midair. He looked at Cassie with his usual relaxed expression before answering, "I don’t have any Immortal-rank bodies, nor do I have any Grandmaster-rank bodies right now."
As soon as he said this, Cassie’s expression changed slightly. It was obvious from her face that she didn’t believe him.
Asher noticed her reaction and continued, "I’m not lying. Why would I even need to lie about something like that? And why do you think I’m lying? Just what did you see in that vision of yours? Now I’m actually curious about it."
He then looked toward the distance for a moment before continuing, "And you should ask your questions quickly and give me the answer to one of mine as well. We don’t have much time left since some guests are about to arrive here. So ask whatever you’re really curious about."
Cassie understood what he meant immediately.
Someone was approaching.
It was most likely someone from the Church after they had discovered that she was here. Remembering that, Cassie also remembered the presence of Ravena that she had sensed earlier. She wanted to ask about her as well, but she decided to first ask the questions that could give her more information about Asher.
She then asked, "How many bodies do you have right now?"
Asher smiled slightly before answering casually, "Tens of thousands. But ninety-nine percent of them are all below Master-rank."
Cassie was surprised when she heard the number.
Tens of thousands of vessels was far more than she had expected. However, after hearing that the vast majority of them were below Master-rank, she felt slightly relieved.
Even so, the remaining number was still significant.
She couldn’t help but wonder just how much damage Asher could cause if he ever decided to attack humans using all of his bodies at once.
"Is there a way to find out which one is his real body?"
She was just about to ask when Asher suddenly spoke.
"You can’t find any difference between my normal bodies and my other bodies. At least, not right now. They are almost impossible to distinguish from one another."
Cassie’s expression became more serious.
Asher continued, "And if I really tried to attack humanity using all of my bodies, I could probably kill around twenty-five percent of the human population within thirty minutes."
He paused briefly before adding in his usual casual tone, "But don’t worry. I have no desire to do that."
Cassie looked at him carefully.
"Can he also read the minds of other people?"
As if responding to the thought, Asher immediately said, "I can’t read the minds of others, nor do I want to. That’s just the normal question you would have thought about after hearing what I said."
Cassie stared at Asher with a wary expression.
Then she said, "You just said that you have no desire to kill humans."
Asher nodded casually.
"Yes. I don’t care about anyone. As long as they don’t come in my way, I don’t care about them."
Cassie’s expression became more serious.
She then asked, "Then why have you come here? Why did you attack this facility and kill all the Grandmasters and other humans here? And in the vision I saw, you were an incarnation of a demon, levitating in the sky with destruction spreading across the continent while a large number of demons were approaching the human continent."
She paused for a moment before continuing.
"Are you saying that all of that is false? Are you saying that my visions are completely wrong?"
Asher listened to everything Cassie said without interrupting.
After she finished, he remained silent for a moment before finally answering.
"For your first question, I was simply unlucky and ended up here. I know you won’t believe that, but it really happened."
He shrugged slightly.
"And since I was already here, I thought I should just kill all the Grandmasters while I had the chance instead of having to kill them later."
Asher paused for a moment, his expression remaining strangely calm.
Then he continued, "As for why I would need to kill them later, that’s easy."
He looked directly at Cassie.
"As soon as I reach the Grandmaster-rank, everyone will know about me. Even I won’t be able to hide my existence anymore."
His expression became slightly more serious.
"And you know better than me that the Church will be the first to come forward and try to kill me once that happens."
Asher leaned back slightly in his chair.
"So I’m simply doing now what will eventually happen later. Nothing else".
Cassie heard this and clenched her fist in anger. Her expression became colder as she looked at Asher and said, "You killed them simply because, according to you, they would eventually come after you. Even though that is probably true, you still killed them based only on your assumption. And then you say that you don’t kill anyone as long as they don’t come in your way. What do you say about the healers who were there? They weren’t going to become your enemies later, so why did you kill them?"
Asher looked at Cassie for a moment before answering in his usual playful tone, "They wouldn’t, but yeah, I killed them because I needed their blood and their bodies to help recover the demons here. You know, I couldn’t really deal with everyone here alone, so I had to kill them."
