The sword strike moved toward Cassie. It was completely invisible, but she could still feel it approaching her. Cassie was sure that an attack like this could never kill someone of her rank, even if it managed to injure her. Still, she didn’t dare underestimate it, so Cassie immediately used her ability.
The strike suddenly froze in place.
The time around the invisible attack had been completely stopped. This was Cassie’s ability to freeze an attack by freezing the flow of time around it. Her ability mostly worked on beings weaker than her, as well as objects and attacks, allowing her to stop them for a short period of time.
However, something suddenly changed about the attack.
It remained frozen for a moment, completely motionless in the stopped flow of time. Then, without any warning, it suddenly moved again.
Before Cassie could even properly sense what had happened, the invisible attack struck the left side of her chest. The force passed through her body, cutting her into two parts.
Cassie remained shocked even after the attack had already hit her.
’A Master rank was able to injure me? As expected, he is dangerous. I have to kill him soon, or else that vision might truly come true.’
Cassie immediately tried to heal her body.
But nothing happened.
There was no reaction from the wound. Her regeneration didn’t activate, and the damaged parts of her body showed no signs of recovering.
’What is happening? It should have healed already.’
She then noticed something else that she hadn’t realized at first.
When the attack struck her body and cut through it, there had been no pain. Even now, there was no bleeding or sensation coming from the wound. It was as if every part of her physical body had been cut apart, yet there was no actual damage to her soul or anything else within her.
She was perfectly fine.
Only her physical body was somehow unable to heal.
’What is this? What did he do?’
Cassie immediately tried something else. She separated herself from her damaged physical body and transformed into her spirit form. There was nothing wrong with her spirit. It remained completely intact.
She then tried to create a new physical body.
As she did so, a new body gradually formed around her spirit. However, the part that had been cut by the crimson sword was still missing.
Even after creating an entirely new physical body, that portion simply couldn’t return.
’What is happening? How can this even happen? What did he do to me?’
Cassie continued thinking rapidly while trying to understand the strange effect of the attack.
Then, she suddenly sensed something changing within her body.
A very small portion of the damaged area had begun to heal.
It was an insignificant amount, barely noticeable, but it was still healing.
Cassie’s expression changed slightly.
She immediately accelerated the flow of time within her body, forcing her body’s time forward by an entire day.
When she examined herself afterward, only around half of the damage caused by the attack had healed.
’So, with enough time, its effect will eventually wear off.’
Cassie then tried another method.
Instead of accelerating her body’s time toward the future, she reversed it toward the past, returning her body’s temporal state to a moment before the attack had struck her.
As she did so, the damage caused by the crimson sword gradually disappeared.
Her body returned to its original complete state.
’So my ability can still fix it... but if that attack had hit my spirit form instead, what would have happened?’
Cassie remained silent for a moment as she thought about the possibility. The fact that the attack had been able to stop her regeneration was already dangerous enough. She couldn’t imagine what would have happened if the attack had affected her spirit instead.
Cassie sighed and continued thinking.
’As it is right now, maybe I would still be able to survive. But if there were hundreds of beings like him, then it would be even harder to deal with them. I have to tell everyone about him and try to kill him as soon as we can.’
Cassie knew that keeping his existence secret would only create more problems later. If even one of those strange vessels could possess such a dangerous ability, then facing hundreds of them would be an entirely different situation.
She then looked behind her.
A beam of light was approaching rapidly from the distance, while the remains of the strange fetus and woman were still lying where Asher had summoned them.
Cassie clenched her fist tightly, her expression becoming filled with anger.
’But before that, there is something else I have to do.’
She knew there was something more important that needed to be dealt with first before she could return and tell everyone about him.
Meanwhile, in the Southern Ocean, one of Asher’s vessels had already reached a different island, far away from where his other vessels were located.
The vessel stood silently for a moment before turning his gaze toward the direction where Cassie was.
A disappointed expression appeared on his face.
"So she fixed it using his authority".
He paused for a moment before continuing in a frustrated tone.
"As expected, it is that guy interfering with me again. I should have killed him long ago if only he wasn’t so good at hiding."
His expression gradually became more serious as he continued thinking about the situation.
"Now he is even interfering with this world, finding every opportunity to interfere whenever I make a crack in it."
The vessel remained silent for a moment, as if remembering something from the distant past.
"After I reach my peak again, the first thing I will do is kill him."
There was clear annoyance in his voice when he spoke those words, as if the existence of that mysterious person had already caused him countless problems.
He then sighed and looked at his own hand.
"I have become really weak because of this world’s restrictions. An attack that could once kill Supremes in a single strike can’t even properly injure a mortal now."
