Maybe I really am a Villian

Aurelius looked at Asher from head to toe before continuing in the same mocking tone.

"So, I am really curious. Are you actually someone who was of a higher rank in the past and is supposed to be smart?"

He paused briefly.

"Because, to me, you just seem like an idiot."

Aurelius laughed again, clearly enjoying the situation.

"If this is how you used to think when you were at a higher rank, then I honestly don’t understand how you managed to survive for so long."

He then looked directly at Asher.

"You came here surrounded by nine Immortal Ranks, admitted that you can’t escape, revealed your ability, revealed your purpose, and then told us that you have already accomplished what you wanted."

Aurelius’s smile slowly faded into a confident expression.

"Tell me, Coward, it was your name right?,what exactly makes you think you are the one who has the advantage ?"

Asher looked at Aurelius for a moment before finally speaking in a calm tone.

"’Know your enemies, and then you have won half the battle.’ Yeah, that is right. But it only works on stupid enemies, and I am not stupid, so it wouldn’t work on me."

He paused for a moment, his voice remaining completely calm despite Aurelius’s mocking words.

"And this type of thinking is something only weak people have. I am not weak. I don’t believe in relying on tricks like hiding everything from my enemies and making sure they know nothing about me."

Asher slightly tilted his head before continuing.

"I only believe in one saying. ’Just know yourself, and that is enough.’ If you truly know yourself, then you don’t need to know everything about others."

His voice remained indifferent, as if he were explaining something extremely simple.

"As long as you know what your weaknesses are and then fix them, even if someone else knows about those weaknesses, what does it matter? They will find out eventually anyway. You can’t hide everything forever."

Asher paused again, and the dark fog around his body continued to move slowly.

"And hiding everything is really difficult. You have to constantly think about what you said, what you showed, what you used, and what your enemies might have noticed. It sounds troublesome just thinking about it."

There was a slight change in his tone, almost as if he genuinely found the whole idea annoying.

"And I am lazy, so I don’t like hiding my weaknesses."

He looked towards Aurelius again.

"I would rather let everyone know what my weaknesses are and then simply make sure those weaknesses are no longer weaknesses."

For a moment, Asher remained silent before continuing in the same calm voice.

"Only then can I feel at peace, knowing that there is nothing left for me to hide."

The dark fog around him remained completely still for a brief moment.

"If there is something I need to hide, then it means I am still relying on it. And if I am relying on it, then sooner or later, someone will use it against me."

Asher shrugged slightly.

"So why should I waste my time hiding things when I can simply become strong enough that knowing my weakness won’t make any difference?"

He looked at Aurelius without the slightest sign of hesitation.

"That is why I don’t care if you know about me. You can know everything you want. In fact, the more you know about me and then realize that you still can’t do anything to me, even after knowing everything, the more your will to fight will crumble."

Asher’s voice remained calm, without even the slightest hint of hesitation.

"The more you understand my abilities, my weaknesses, and everything else about me, only to realize that none of that knowledge is enough to defeat me, the more hopeless you will feel."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"And once you start believing that you can’t win against me no matter how much you know, then what is the point of continuing to fight?"

The dark fog around his body slowly moved as his voice remained completely indifferent.

"That is when your will to fight will break completely."

Asher looked towards Aurelius and the others.

"And when that happens, it will be my win."

As Asher finished saying this, there was a silence. Not a single person said anything for a moment. The confidence with which Asher spoke had already planted a seed of doubt in their hearts about their chances of victory, and that was exactly what he had been trying to do from the beginning.

He didn’t need to attack them or demonstrate his strength. Simply making them question whether they could actually defeat him was enough to weaken their resolve. And Asher knew that once doubt entered someone’s mind, it was not always easy to remove.

And then it was Asher who spoke again, his playful tone returning.

"And also, everything that I said just now was meant to break your spirit before the battle even began."

He paused for a moment before continuing, almost as if he had just remembered something amusing.

"But, of course, what I said is also true. You know, the truth can break someone far harder than a lie, especially humans, whose whole lives are filled with lies they tell themselves to protect their own fragile conscience."

Asher’s tone remained calm, but there was something strangely sharp hidden behind his words.

He then looked towards Audrey and Cassie before saying,"Isn’t that right?"

When he said that while looking at Audrey and Cassie, everyone else also turned their eyes towards them, each of them wearing a strange expression that seemed to say, ’What lie is he talking about?’

For a moment, no one understood what Asher was referring to. His words clearly suggested that there was something Audrey and Cassie knew, something they had deliberately kept from the others.

But before anyone could say anything, Audrey looked at Asher with a sharp gaze.

Her expression remained calm, and she spoke in a steady voice.

"Don’t listen to him. He is just trying to create discord between us by saying all these lies and making us doubt ourselves. Don’t believe anything he says. Everything he has said is nothing but lies."
