Audrey’s voice remained firm as she continued looking directly at Asher, refusing to let his words affect her.
However, despite her calm response, the doubt that had already appeared in everyone’s minds did not disappear so easily. After all, Asher had deliberately chosen his words while looking directly at Audrey and Cassie, making it difficult for the others to completely ignore the implication behind them.
Asher replied in a calm tone,
"Yeah, I am saying this so that you doubt yourselves, but what I say is always the truth. You know, I am the most honest person in all the Realms."
There was a strange confidence in his voice. He didn’t sound like someone who was trying to convince them of something. Instead, he spoke as if he genuinely believed every word he was saying.
Every time Asher spoke, Cassie felt an unease growing deeper in her heart. His words were beginning to get under her skin, and for a moment, she was just about to attack Asher.
But then, a voice suddenly echoed inside her mind.
"Don’t do it, Cassie. This is what he wants you to do."
The voice belonged to Audrey.
Cassie didn’t turn towards Audrey. She simply remained calm from the outside, making sure that no one could notice the change in her expression or realize that they were communicating mentally.
Audrey continued speaking directly into Cassie’s mind.
"He wants you to attack him right now so that the doubts in everyone’s minds can grow even stronger. So no matter what happens, don’t attack him. You shouldn’t be the first one to attack him, no matter what happens."
Cassie remained silent, her gaze still fixed on Asher.
"Just keep your mind calm. Nothing will go wrong, so don’t worry. He is simply trying to play with our minds."
There was a brief pause in Audrey’s voice.
Then she continued,
"And I have to say... he is really good at playing with people’s minds."
Cassie understood what Audrey was saying and then she calmed down.
Asher wasn’t simply standing there and talking.
Every word he spoke seemed to have a purpose behind it. He was deliberately creating uncertainty.
Asher looked directly at Cassie and Audrey for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his face. His expression remained calm, almost as if he were enjoying the uneasiness his words had created among them.
"Yeah, I am also playing with your minds because it’s fun. And soon, I will also play with your lives. Of course, I will feel even more fun at that time. I will show you how weak you really are, and the only reason you are still alive and living happily is simply because you are lucky, not because you are strong."
He paused for a moment, his eyes moving between Cassie and Audrey.
"You think you are different from everyone else because you have reached a certain level of strength, but in the end, there is nothing that truly makes you different from the countless people who die every day."
His words were calm, but there was an obvious provocation behind them. Asher wasn’t shouting or showing any anger. Instead, he spoke casually, as if he were simply stating something that he considered to be an undeniable fact.
And then he paused for another moment before smiling again.
"Well, that is all. With that, I have nothing else to say. You can try to kill me all you want, but it will only be one-sided slaughter in the end. The one who will die will be you."
His smile widened slightly.
"And the one who kills this body of mine right now will be the first one to die. So go ahead. Try to find me and kill me."
Asher spread his arms slightly, completely unbothered by the nine Immortal Ranks standing before him.
"Start by killing this body of mine."
And then Asher turned towards the forest and began appreciating the scenery. The trees were swaying gently in the wind, and the peaceful atmosphere of the forest felt completely out of place compared to the tense situation around them.
Asher looked at the scenery for a moment before quietly muttering,
"What a beautiful world with disgusting laws."
Everyone looked at Asher with complex expressions.
For a moment, nobody said anything. They were all thinking the same thing.
’Just how can someone be this arrogant?’
He had nine Immortal Ranks standing around him, yet he wasn’t even looking at them anymore. Instead, he had casually turned his back towards everyone and started appreciating the nature around him as if he had completely forgotten that he was surrounded by people who could kill him.
It was almost as if he didn’t consider them a threat at all.
And then Aurelius suddenly started laughing.
He laughed so hard that tears even came out of his eyes. He couldn’t help himself after seeing Asher’s behavior. After laughing for a while, Aurelius finally stopped and wiped the corner of his eye before looking at Asher with an amused smile.
"You are really an interesting person. I have never seen a person like you in my whole life. I wonder if you are brave or just stupid."
Asher didn’t turn around.
He continued looking towards the forest and answered calmly,
"I am neither brave nor stupid. I am a coward. The biggest coward this world has ever seen."
Aurelius heard this and immediately started laughing even harder.
He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
After finally calming down, Aurelius smiled and said,
"Yeah, sorry. I forgot that your name is literally ’Coward.’ You really are quite a coward. I wonder what you are actually afraid of that makes you call yourself a coward."
Asher remained silent for a moment.
He still didn’t turn around. Then, without looking back, he calmly answered,"I fear nothing."
"But, it seems like you all are the ones who are afraid of me, I guess. Why are you still not attacking me? I am just a Master Rank right now."
