Mercenary’s War

The convoy finally breached the last external defense and rushed into the airport.

Aden Airport is a military-civilian dual-use airport, mainly civilian because Yemen’s air force is so weak it’s negligible.

The original plan was to take back the Hammer by car, and the helicopter was a bonus, but it couldn’t take everyone, and Satan had to cover the helicopter’s departure before retreating.

The helicopter finally took off. Just then, Jansen, using a drone to scout, urgently reported to Gao Yang, "Twelve o’clock, two o’clock, four o’clock, a large enemy force is coming, armored vehicles! Tanks, there are tanks at four o’clock!"

The airport garrison was arriving in large numbers; they had to evacuate immediately.

Gao Yang rapidly ordered over the intercom, "Evacuate quickly! Return the way we came!"

The airport garrison had thousands, plus ample heavy equipment. Humvees and armored vehicles were at the checkpoints, but the heavy armored units were deploying rapidly.

Facing a vast array of buildings to the left with no enemies approaching, Gao Yang’s team had four exit routes: return their path, a rear exit at four o’clock, a front exit at two o’clock, and a direct exit at twelve o’clock.

There was no time for contemplation; retreating would face interception from the four o’clock enemies. Gao Yang roared, "Get in the car! Follow me!"

Climbing into the vehicle, Gao Yang yelled at Joseph, "Forward, forward! Break through!"

Joseph drove straight ahead, even though enemies were blocking that direction. They either had to bust through that frontal blockade or get trapped by enemies with tanks behind them.
