Mindless Beasts

Chapter 43: Not in danger

A few minutes after Verde left Sly’s hospital room the door burst wide open and Khaldun stormed in with a huff.

Sly Fox, "....."

Commandant Hitchener checked his spiritwatch and just as he estimated his godson was right on time.

Taking his best friend along so he wouldn’t have to explain things twice.

Ignoring the noisy entrance Commandant Hitchener spoke calmly, "Sly Foxx, the chastity choker around your neck also has a dual purpose. It can function just like the spiritwatch on my wrist."

"Please allow me the honor of being the first to add my spiritwatch number so we can exchange contacts. Feel free to message, video or call whenever the need arises," added Hitchener.

Sly nodded in agreement but his attention was drawn to the two newcomers.

Khaldun was easily recognized but the other was an older gentleman with an uncanny resemblance to Khaldun.

It was like viewing a crystal ball and seeing what Khaldun may look like when he gets old.

Sly jerked his in the direction of Kaldun’s father who was also eying the bedridden Sly looking him up and down with equal curiosity.

Even from his sitting position Sly could see that the elderly gentleman was currently taller than Khaldun but given a few more years Khaldun was sure to surpass General Wolfe in height.

General Wolfe looked like an older version of his son, it seemed they both had a similar taste in fashion because when not in military uniform they both sported black clothes.

The elderly gentleman in front of him was wearing a long black trenchcoat that was trendy and sleek.

Below pepperseed hair winged eyebrows stared at him coolly without any show of sharpness on his poker face but his spiritual aura had momentum.

If Khaldun was like the uncertainty of the ocean his father was the complete opposite.

General Wolfe displayed the firm foundation, filled with hidden layers and depth while having the rocky strength of a granite mountain.

His appearance was also exceptionally good looking with moss green eyes that matched the huge rock on his wedding band.

Like father, like son, no doubt he must have broken a few hearts in the day before he married Khaldun’s omega father.

After barging into the hospital room and finding it a little too crowded in his opinion.

Khaldun ignored the prying eyes or attempts to block his movements and made a beeline straight for Sly’s bed.

Sly was not in danger or under attack to his relief.

Everything looked just like he had left his bedside that morning.

As he remembered, Sly was unhurt, his features were still delicate and beautiful.

His face so small, those shining sapphire blue eyes that stared at him eagerly with anticipation because of his heat cycle.

Not to mention those puffy pink lips were still swollen from Khaldun’s kisses.

The temporary mark was not gone, just hidden and obscured by the chastity choker specifically designed for an S-tier omega.

Khaldun only quieted down after examining Sly’s neck for himself.

He knew what a chastity choker was and automatically hated it on sight.

The S-tier alpha could have easily ripped it off with his S-tier strength but that would cause Sly too much pain.

So he would let it stay for now.

Commandant Hitchener loved to gamble or get a good bargain, he would find a way to negotiate with the old fart and get passcode out of him, hopefully sooner than later.

Still he couldn’t let the commandant win so easily.

How can he turn this situation around to his benefit?

After further contemplation Khaldun decided on a course of action.

Khaldn said solemnly, "Father and Commandant Hitchener, I’ve thought it over and I’ve come to realize that what you have both been saying for years finally makes sense to me. After coming to Paradise Military Academy I came to realize that I cannot do this alone. I need a guide partner and not just any one but an omega guide. I believe that I should grow up and act more mature. So, I won’t do anything to stop or prevent you from providing me with an exclusive guide, but I do believe I should have some say in who you choose for me. I would like to choose an omega guide from Paradise MIlitary Academy."

General Wolfe’s eyes lit up and he pulled Khaldun into a warm hug, "Son, it was a good decision to send you here, you’ve finally come around!"

Dr. Shirley on the other hand grew increasingly alarmed for Khaldun was staring obsessively at Sly when he gave that grandiose speech she wasn’t fooled in the slightest.

"If that is the case then perhaps you can meet with Mr. Howard and go through some of the top guide profiles with combat and field experience that can interest you?" offered Dr. Shirley.

Mr. Howard sensing a storm brewing wisely kept his mouth shut but nodded his willingness to help if needed.

Calmly Khaldun suggested, "if there are no complaints I would like to do an official guide match test with Sly Foxx."

Sensing a bomb was going to go off Commandant Hitchener was going to play peacemaker and intercede.

Just then three spiritwatches had their alarms go off at the same time.

Adjutant Miles spoke, "General Wolfe and Commandant Hitchener let us make our way to the closed conference room. The emperor has called an urgent emergency meeting set to start in the next ten minutes."

"My apologies but I have to go. Let’s continue this conversation another time," said Commandant Hitcheener apologetically.

Dr. Shirley sympathized and waited patiently for the trio to leave before turning her piercing attention to Khaldun.

She never saw smoke without fire and didn’t for a second think that Khaldun would be anything but be hazardous to Sly’s future.

"Are you out of your mind! Who do you really want to match with? It can’t be Sly Foxx who just got accepted into Paradise Military Academy and hasn’t even had his first class yet!"

Khaldun wasn’t backing down and growled in a low voice, "you heard me. It has to be Sly Foxx."

Mr. Howard, Dr. Shirley and most of all Sly Fox was left speechless at his daring and audacity.

Dr. Shirley couldn’t fathom Khaldun’s logic, "Sly Foxx is out of the question. Choose someone else! As an untrained B-tier guide; he can’t manage your chaotic outbursts. I protest wholeheartedly."
